next car will be stock motor king, for 1/4 drag stuff, and roll racing. After i felt ive set the bar low enough ill put a built motor in it and go for all the records

any issues mechanically with the car and how many miles did you have on it when you sold it?. i got a gli jetta that i am going is38 with but am worried about logevity. i only plan on going to 380hp to the wheels. did you do any internal work or was the internals stock.
@@bm_wuratli6883 It’s true they the dsg is stronger, faster, better, etc. But the gearing on the manual is better for the Mk7 Gti. That’s not the case with the Mk5/Mk6, Mk7 R, and Mk8 Gti/R. Only for the Mk7 Gti
M&H Drag radial 245/45/17 car dyno'd 463whp at 32psi, these races were all at 36psi or so. I never dyno'd the car at that boost level but likely between 480-510whp
@@Hardwaretuned not really but yes. Safe is dependent on how the owner treats the car. If you don't do maintenance and treat it like just another car then it'll let go. Safe would be anything under 440WTQ with decent oil change intervals (5000-7500mi). When I still had the car I changed the oil every two months or 3000 mi. Just for piece of mind. Every other change was trans and both were sent out for testing each time to insure no serious damage was around.
@@Hardwaretuned Manual trans can and will break over 480WHP I've rebuilt it once and it was starting to go a second time after 6 months. Just rather get into something that can hold the power and put it down. Currently just got a MQB A3 so literally the GTI just AWD/DSG.
need a little more information to answer this, WHP was probably around 500, 60-130 times were in the mid 7's consistantly, fastest 1/4 was a 10.9 at 127mph
stock turbo? depends what fuel u run aswell.. if everything is stock on 87 I wouldn't add more than a few pounds, just to play it safe. but that all depends..

My GTI has been a shit show recently, 58,000 had to have the cam cover resealed and my cam bridge was leaking too...now supposedly my rear brake calipers are going. The car is so fun, but it's a headache to live with...this will be my last VW.
@@SportyMk7 Yeah got mine at 25k and things were ok up until around 40k. Not sure what I am going to do next... maybe a domestic or get something cheap while I wait for some low mileage GR86's.
@@Kisame.Hoshigaki TR Hamza - in the uk has one with 130k on clock about to be stage 3 500bhp with venom550 turbo lol, they are really reliable just need the 1 or 2 common faults replaced.

That GTI is fast enough in my book. I just wish there were more day time racing so we can truly see what was going on.

What boost levels would you say are pretty safe and reliable for longevity on stock internals with regular and preventative maintenance.
stock turbo? depends what fuel u run aswell.. if everything is stock on 87 I wouldn't add more than a few pounds, just to play it safe. but that all depends..

these cars are great under 50k miles, anything more than that and you try and mod it shit never ends well.
