It makes more sense when you realize they intended this game for an adult audience (the people who grew up on Crash 1-3) to begin with.
The flashback tape levels give me Oddworld vibes, with the setting and the casualness of Cortex with the deaths of his experiments.

I mean it is better than the handholding present in other games, but this is N. Sane.
Actually, the challenge would be more enjoyable, if not for the extensive reloading times.
Wouldn't say it's all that bad, though the extra challenge is certainly on it's game and as someone who was never good at Crash that doesn't give me any personal confidence that I'll make it. Fingers crossed that the reloading times are getting a fix.
It'd be less annoying if deaths were only saved past the checkpoint, like instead of a no-death reward it should be a no-checkpoint reward.

@@mongo_mgoo in the past there have been checkpoints which were metal crates and not wooden/breakable ones.
It's a simple adjustment.
@@Shift_Salt I think perfection relics are an alright idea on paper, if they weren’t required for total game completion or you only needed them for SOME of the levels, I’d be fine with keeping them around for the next game.
You keep referring to Crash 4 as a kid's game and I had a realization after I thought about it, and it's not. And what I mean by that is Crash 4 isn't aimed at kids: It's aimed at the 20-30 somethings who grew up with Crash 1-3 and have been waiting for a true sequel. That's why it's called Crash 4: If this was meant for new audiences, it'd have been another subtitled game.
But it's not. Crash has not been a household name in over a decade, and with the declining quality and buzz of each game you might not even know Crash of the Titan exists. Kids do not know who Crash is. This game is aimed at the adults who grew up with Crash.

@@bandibandibandibandi He's still not wrong. Crash did have diminishing returns, becoming worse over time with weaker sales and mostly going silent until recently.
If it was a successful and enduring franchise it would have least performed similar to Ratchet and Clank where it never truly went away.

I find the Cortex levels pretty challenging, probably because the controls are quite different. The change of pace is nice but can be super frustrating. Caddy went a bit maddy
Damn! Even the BOUNS levels aren't easy in this game! They got boxes in such unique, challenging layouts that you have to plan ahead and often leave one box as a platform to get back to some other ones revealed by hitting an ! box!

In regards to the comment that accompanied the donation at 15:08 - Everyone's different, I get it so I'm not trying to downplay what was said but I too found that the newer content was not my cup of tea originally because I have the attention span of a toddler, I struggled to watch a whole episode BUT I marathoned the new playlist there in the background and it really grew on me and now I love it and find myself heavily invested in the longer videos and the content that's portrayed within them and I truly appreciate the time and effort that goes into them.
Also, as someone who suffers from numerous mental health issues of different variations and severities, I just want you to know Caddy that I find great comfort in your videos, the LEGO one especially helped me through an anxiety attack a couple of nights ago and I forever grateful not only to you and your content for getting me through these hard times but also for the day that I stumbled upon your channel 🤘😎
I find watching stuff in chunks or double speed helps, I struggle to watch for more than a few minutes at a time.
The very important lesson we can take from Caddy's play throughs, especially when we know he did succeed in 100%-ing the entire game, is that there are no failures; only learning experiences.

Don't know if you'll ever see this , but the reson it takes so long to restart is because when you quit the level it unloads the entire thing, when it sends you to a checkpoint it's only resetting boxes so it doesn't take nearly as long.

this hurt every single time, there are really only 3 gems per stage, the wumpa gems you get no matter what when you get all the crates, there is literally no reason to even think about them
The boxes are sometimes so hidden that going for the boxes are more time-consuming than anything else.

I thought N Tropy's fight was very disappointing they set him up to be this big bad but his fight was barely anything but at least he's consistent.
And the fact that they set it up as if you were to play as all the characters in the game go fight him

I can’t put into words how much I fucking despise “Crash Landed” as a level and it sucks because visually it’s one of the prettiest levels in the game but layout and difficulty wise it’s my personal hell

My only issue with this game is the box placement, it feels like TFB looked at what everybodies basic thoughts of Crash Bandicoot are and just put them into the game aka the difficulty and Cold Hard Crash Box bs.
The levels are extremely well designed though, and when you aren't going for everything at once its a lot of fun. But due to the missing boxes I have to inch my way through the level step by step because of how busy the backgrounds are at times making it a slog and a chore to playthrough. Game is incredible and Crash has a bright future, I just hope they take what Crash 4 did wrong and improve that for the next game, the joy of collecting all the boxes wasn't satisfying because it was hard to do, it was satisfying because the boxes were in your way and they never broke the flow and pace of the game, thats something Crash 4 struggles with imo.
They really want you to take in the environment.

Alright guys... small question. Did anyone experienced "input lag" of sort when playing certain levels?!
Cause i had a case with "Give it a spin" and now i had same thing with "Toxic Tunnels"
But only when i was doing time trials... for whatever reason.
Like in toxic tunnels... the swinging platforms just "SIKE'D" before i landed on them and i died which means i had to redo the run. WTF?!
I've done about half of the platinum relics so far, and it's been good for me. Then again, I haven't done give it a spin or toxic tunnels yet.
Caddy is so great. Some Twitch Streamers complain about people not sending them there money and beg for 5 bucks while Caddy is complaining about everybody being so nice.

It literally felt like a fakeout for the actual fight when you thought you defeated them, only that fight never came and it just kind of.. stopped, also didn't help they only had Two health points so I immediately assumed there was more to the fight.
