I like to think that Aku Aku is making a complete fool of his brother in this game. First, because he can't be bothered fighting, he makes Uka believe some nonsense about "The Ancients". Second, he leaves Brio on the same side as Cortex to make their team dynamics as awkward as possible (Brio tried to blow Cortex up in Crash 2, and Cortex never let Uka know due to fear/embarrassment). Third, he takes the two best characters left, Tiny and Dingodile, for his own side. It's total ownage.
So, since I can't seem to get Caddy's attention to this, I might as well post it here. If anyone's interested, there's a fan remake of this game called Crash Bash Live, which adds alot of extra content and got updated last month. It's still a bit rough but it alleviates some of the repetition that Caddy hates so much about Bash and has some Quality of Life improvements, like the Ball and Pogo games counting DOWN instead of up, so they aren't so excruciatingly slow.
When i managed to color the entire square of the stage in Pogo A Gogo i was sooooo happy. Also, the Crystal version of Space Bash becomes funny as hell if the opponents don't kill themselves too quickly and TNTs destroy all of the platforms

Relic challenges, my God are they bullshit. The fact that you have to win twice in a row without a single loss and the odds are near enough against you.

if you choose tiny dingodile coco or crash in a single player adventure mode, your enemies will never be coco crash dingodile or tiny unless you re doing a relic challenge, its the good vs bad thing
Caddy, Crash and Coc are actually the best ones in Bash stages. Everyone has to stop and pick up the crates, C&C can push while also moving. And it can be crazy accurate if you follow your shots.

I remember this game making me rage so bad back in the day that I accidentally broke the game and my PlayStation One when I dropped a hammer fist. Fortunately for me, we were about to get a PlayStation 2 and I learned my lesson, so I bought this game again (only to have it in my collection at the time). Nowadays, I'd probably just cuss up a storm at this thing. lol
oh the memories i have of crash bash are thankfully not so bad. i say that since i never owned this as a kid, but the only time i got to play it was when we went on vacation most hotels had a ps1 controller or N64 controller connected to the tv. for the ps1 it of course had crash bash, and i played it al be it was limited since it was 10 an hour to play games.
Absolutely loved Crash Bash as a kid and was so devastated to revisit it as an adult. It's definitely way too tedious to unlock the Medieval world but I enjoy half of the games.
On the last round of the Bearminator fight theirs a certain area you can spin on and if you time it right the mechanical bears go flying off the stage when he launches them
Man, as much frustrating and repetitive this game is, some minigames are really fun, and the game can be freaking hilarious due to the dorkyness of the AI. I wheezed so much watching you play the Polar minigame.

Its always either 1 good guy vs. 3 evil or 1 evil vs. 3 good. Unless you're doing 2 player coop. The characters only change on relics as they have selected "champions" as characters.
It doesn't matter which one of you wins to get a trophy in co-op. You play as a team, CPU does the same. But the gem/crystal challenges require perfect co-op because most of them mean you have shared hit points like in those ball levels. This game sucks.
I also like how the gold relic has a different colored gem in it to differentiate it more from platinum. That would be cool to see back in later games. Or not because I hate time trials/missions in every game.
I think the Rilla Roo character was them originally wanting to make Ripper Roo a playable character then deciding not to so they created a monkey character, called him Rilla Roo and threw him in there.
When Dingodile said he reformed in 4, he was likely referring to the bizarre experince he had that was this game. Everyone was literally minding their own business until the brothers started fighting.

Funny how Crash and Coco suck at throwing in Jungle Bash, but they excel at Attacking and knocking blocks at their opponent. I find that funny since that’s how I win in those Minigames as Cash Banooka. Actually when it comes to the Crystal Challenge, Crash and Coco can beat it easily as all you need to do is run and spin the blocks.

I played it a fair amount as a kid, I had my favourite levels and minigames though. I always hated the tanks and the bumper cars.
If you play casually with friends or siblings it can be fun. The problem is when you play it alone and try to complete it.
