I love this attitude pretty much more than anything, when you are serious about something but don't take things seriously. When you really love something and are into it, you know there's a funny side to things and you're allowed to laugh, but at no single point to you accept any tolerate of that which you love. Immortal = true legends, Abbath = legend.

Almost anyone who at one time of their life worked on construction or in a construction site is a solid dude. No pun intended. It shows with Abbath from the get go.
The 'Abbath hill' on Metaldays (where he took that famous tumble, also he managed to lock himself in the toilet on some of earliest editions of festival and there was a little drama to get him out :o)) is gone now. They're building a bypass road over it and destroying one of the most beautiful enviroments in the process. Such a shame. It should be a national monument and UNESCO location. Abbath, thank you for existing.

Great sense of humor,not pretentious about the music he plays,just a down to earth dude.
He actually had the sparkle of diamond Dave for a sec. I don't think he gets away with anything ...he is just being himself . I can also tell buy his quotes and humor he must be from my era and this what we pretty much acted like this all through highschool. I never did stop being like this but because I never got like my guy here i had to stop acting that way...all my friends and disowned me..true story. Great interview by the way.

I was just gonna say something to the same effect....I had a good friend, Native American party animal buddy ( RIP Jon ) that was a spitting image of Abbath, both physically & literally in his mannerisms.Right down to the gibberish, that most other folks would be like "what the hell is that guy talking about ....!?" He was witty as hell, super comedic & a helluva bass player too. Just a fun guy to hang out with. I literally thought the same thing watching this, you beat me to it!

My grandfather was a Nisqually native and he was just like Abbath. Even at 95 he was always just a goofball. Had to have a sound effect for everything he was describing.
“Hmph I’m a grumpy guy today…” he would say stone faced as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a flask with a wry grin.
Love that Abbath doesn’t take everything so serious like everyone in the scene.
