Another gap

I just really love Italy, like all the others and honestly just can’t care about Tattoo too generic for me
For me it's
1. Italy
2. Netherlands
An enormous gap
Others were just mid
@@sisarka468 I'd be inclined to agree with you.

At least we can agree that Italy was the best.
This is the most important part

I like the other winners too, but the Code is absolutely the best one for me. It's musically complex and creative, with great hooks and masterful genre mixing, and it all flows well together, the vocal lines are incredibly difficult and impressive, especially taking the staging into account, and how much they have to do on that stage while singing every note on pitch. It's just full of these "wow" moments and Nemo just gives it their all every time they perform. I've never reacted to an ESC performance the same way I did to this one. Just incredible talent. It's no wonder that the juries really went for this entry. Also, keep it up, really enjoy your content!
I don't really enjoy that song. They're very talented but I feel there were songs that are more enjoyable
@@sisarka468 I can respect that. No song is for everyone. For me it's the most enjoyable this year, along side it being the most impressive. It had the biggest impact on me.
Cmon guys, love Loreen, great artist. But MANESKIN the best without doubt. The only one like Abba and Celine Dion to reach literally all world and a Grammy nomination. With asong in Italian btw. They are the definition of the success. And they’re Italian 😜🇮🇹❤️
Agreed
1. Maneskin!:D I wasn't that excited about the winner since Lordi :D I'm so happy they won and that they're superstars now - they really deserved it and all the music they made after Eurovision is great:)
2/3 Nemo / Kuulash Orchestra - I can't decide. I love both songs equally
4. Duncan Laurence - ok ballad and really good lyrics
5. Loreen - last place as I never liked the song even though it's well produced and staged. Not my thing at all
1. 🇨🇭 Nemo
2. 🇮🇹 Måneskin
3. 🇺🇦 Kalush Orchestra
4. 🇳🇱 Duncan Laurence
I don‘t feel:
5. 🇸🇪 Loreen
Hm for me it would be:
1. Maneskin (by a mile, it's one of the best overall I think)
2. Nemo (It just feels so perfect, I liked everything about it )
3. Duncan Laurence (Just an impressive ballade, that isn't boring for once )
4. Kuulash Orchestra (That was just much fun, but it's not my taste)
5. Loreen (That is boring, one of the weakest winners in recent years for me...)
1. Nemo
2. Kalush Orchestra
3. Maneskin
4. Arcade
5. Tattoo
1. Nemo
2. Måneskin
3. Kalush
4. Loreen
5. Duncan
It’s more of a post-Eurovision euphoria after this disaster of a esc season lol. Still, the winner is one of my favorite of all time, Nemo really broke the code with this one!
1. Definitely Nemo. Was hooked on The Code before the contest because of their song's complexity, Nemo's vocals and epicness. And when I was watching the contest, they completely stole my heart from the very first "whoa-oh-oh". Again, live phenomenal vocals, staging, storytelling, Nemo's charm and charisma - it's all simply unmatched! 😍 Despite Eurovision being crazy political mess this year, they've still managed to get a winner who's basically everything Eurovision needs. A well-deserved victory, my fave winner ever!
2. Maneskin - one more faves who totally deserved their worldwide recognition. Again, fell in love with them from the very first seconds of their performance preview. The funniest thing I barely remember their final performance because I was literally shaking my head during the whole song (I still remember my neck was hurting after this 😆). Just iconic)
3. Kalush Orchestra - as a Ukrainian, I can tell Stefania performance is special to me. The first months of full-scale w*r were the worst months of my life. I even thought we might withdraw from the competition, but thank God we didn't. Instead of a pitiful sad ballad Kalush presented a fun, dancey folk/hip-hop banger to Europe. Like, "Yeah, the lives of our people are completely in a dark place and we're going through the horrors of w*r and hearing air raid alerts and explosions every day. But hey, look at us now. We're still here, we're resilient. We're not giving up just like that. We just want to live and have some fun despite everything. So, here's our song, and you're welcome to listen to it". And. probably, it worked, judging by the final result.
I'm not mad it ended up the last in the video, because my favorite winner from Ukraine is Jamala.
4. Duncan Laurence - a beautiful ballad and such a cozy performance you could rarely get from Eurovision winner. Salvador Sobral and Olson Brothers vibes.
5. Loreen - a truly phenomenal singer, deserved much more recognition than just a Eurovision star. Her original Euphoria performance was pure magic and the song is fantastic. Tattoo performance is out of this world, but the song itself felt a bit cliched and boring to me.
1. Måneskin
2. Nemo
3. Kalush Orchestra
4. Duncan Lawrence
5. Loreen
All good songs but Måneskin and Nemo are far above the rest
Maneskin 1st, Nemo 2nd - agreed!

Maneskin's year was when I started following the contest and they represent a lot to me even today. We were still in Covid and their victory shed a big light into my life. My fave that year was Ukraine with Go_A's SHUM but I feel as though that song has also cemented its position into Eurovision's history, I mean, it was in this year's Ukraine's postcard and I was very excited when they performed in Liverpool's finale last year. You know what would be a great off-season video or series? A history of how the rules have changed over the years of Eurovision and how the contest has evolved. That's right up your alley. For us newer Eurovision fans, there is such a dense history, too much to read through on Wikipedia. You'd be the perfect content creator for that.
Your voice is comforting and your opinions are well explained. Thank you thank you ✊🏼😘😊
Thanks 🤗
1 - *Maneskin*
Out of the 5, the one i was genuinely happy that it won. I would be just as happy if Go_A won that year. 💛💙
Love both!!!
2 & 3 - *Kalush O. & Nemo*
In not particular order, as i feel the same for both.
Loved both songs, I applaud when they won. Well deserved. Super happy for them, but i wasn't happy.
Kalush had the extra aspect that it was obvious they were going to win, which made that year's final less exciting. 🙃
4 & 5 - *Loreen & Duncan*
In not particular order as i feel the same for both. They are not bad songs. They are talented singers. I'm happy for people that wanted those songs to win.
I was NOT happy. My biggest "Post Eurovision Depresion" happened those years.
I was affected to the core.
I cried. Lost my faith in ESC.
Took me long to recover. 😢
But hey, after last year, i told myself to not let ESC affect me. No more depression. The whole point is to know new artists i would have never heard of. I'll support those artists i like. After last year i decided to never vote again.
I decided to be more mature and watch/fallow ESC as entertainment.
A novela where sometimes i like the ending and sometimes i don't.
Novelas never affected me afterwards... So why let ESC do that to my brain 🧠 heart ❤️ and soul 👻??
1. Maneskin 2. Kalush Orchestra 3. Nemo 4. Loreen 5. Duncan Laurence
Måneskin, no doubts there. Televote winner, later Grammy nominee, a proof how ESC juries are completely off with assessment of music quality and public appeal
My vote goes to Maneskin!
I'm Swiss. But I agree.

* Måneskin (a good solid rock song with tons of personality but not really my kind of music)
* Kalush Orchestra (catchy and unique but the rap throws me off a lot)
* Loreen (too catchy for it's own good and I don't like her voice in this, she should not have won again)

My ranking:
1 🇨🇭Cute, chills, perfect vocals and make me wanna dance and punch something (inanimate ofc). This is an example of when I like the mix of rap and singing in a song, which makes it stand out. If not done correctly, it gets kinda… messy and cringe.
2 🇸🇪 Great staging and vocals, gives chills and vibes. My favourite parts are the crescendo were she lets her all out and that wide shot which probably is the best in live music history.
3 🇺🇦Gives me chills and makes me wanna dance. Love the dance and the lullaby feel and the flute and EVERYTHING except for the rap… I’m not in love with the rap part… sorry
4 🇳🇱 simple but flawless staging, the blinding spotlight and great vocals works so good and gives chills, but something is just missing…
5 🇮🇹 good vocals and nice staging, but boring and overrated. Never got it. JUSTICE FOR JE ME CASSE❤️
Maneskin, Nemo, Duncan Lawrence, Kalush Orchestra, Loreen
Really hard to choose, because they are all amazing.
Thank so much for all your videos!!
The comment about The Code being difficult to perform was an interesting insight. I wonder whether it might be worth adding a new judging category of "technical difficulty" to future song battle videos? It seems like that's something that deserves its own reward.
I imagine the juries take that into consideration when voting.
MÅNESKIN 🤘🎸🎙
For me:
1. Nemo - The Code
2. Duncan Laurence - Arcade
3. Loreen - Tatoo
4. Kalush Orchestra - Stefania
5. Måneski - Zitti e buoni
Same opinion
1 - Nemo 2 - Kalush 3 - Duncan 4 - Loreen 5 - Maneskin but they are all excellent and worthy winners.
Salvador Sobral forever, I know... ;-)
Thank you for your calm way of shering your opinion without bashing any participant or country
I like all these 5 songs. As I am Italian, Zitti e buoni is in my heart, but each one of these songs is really very good and worth of victory.

even though ive got two clear favourites (stefania ❤ and the code ❤) i found it really tough trying to pick winners in each category. they are all so strong in different ways!
i would also nominate zero gravity from 2019 as the hardest performance ever. to this day im still floored that she could do it
My personal ranking of these songs are
1. Switzerland
2. Italy
3. The Netherlands
4. Sweden
5. Ukraine
I love how everyone in the comments section puts Tattoo on fifht or fourth at best. This makes me wonder how the scores would change if last year's winner was Kaarija instead of Loreen
Here’s an American question: why do these winners not make it a point to tour at least some of America in their reigning year? Would be so interested in a video about what is required/expected of them between their win and step down.
That's a short video: Nothing. It's not like Miss Universe, they can do whatever they want.
I think touring in the US requires more fame than just being the Eurovision winner.
In order to tour US you need support from the music business. Maneskin got a break being support band for Rolling Stones then people started to listen to their music and it went on from there
For me Måneskin
Maneskin wasn’t even my favorite at the time but has stuck with me over time like no other Eurovision music.
For me:
1. Maneskin
2. Duncan
3. Nemo
4. Kalush
5. Loreen
Is the Code the hardest staging/performance/vocalin Eurovision history? Or is there another one?
Oohh interesting...😊
It's definately up there in terms of difficulty...Off the top of my head I think Kate Miller-Heidke's Zero Gravity was very difficult to perform aswell. I really did not like the song and she wasn't pitch perfect 100% but the staging was impressive...a little over the top maybe but singing (p)opera on a wobbly spiral is not something everyone can do 😊
If I think a little harder I might come up with more but Kate is the one that came to mind right now.
Edit: Just noticed someone already mentioned it...sorry 😊
Well. Thought of her too but she was safer on that pole compared to Nemo on the disc but very hard regardless.
@@eurovisionhistories yeah...Nemo was not attached to anything so them falling was a real possibility...I think Nemo wins this battle :-)
Zero Gravity maybe? I'm not a fan of over the top stagings and I think that Nemo's staging was very clever. It was SO impressive but at the same time, it actually looked quite simple in a way as well and there wasn't anything that would've felt as "too much" (which I'm rather sensitive to).
In this ESC i would say Bambie Thug. They performed ballet maneuvers while switching from screamo to singing & switching up tempi & being handled by their own personal demon. Absolute perfect dancer by the way, that acting at the avada kedavra, superb!
Yes, the going up & down by Nemo was also impressive, but with ballet it's making it look easy while it's REALLY incredibly hard. And while opera isn't for the fainthearted i'd say that the switch between that & the rap & pop bit is less demanding on your vocal cords than what Bambie did in Doomsday blue.
1 Duncan
2 Loreen
3 Kalush
4 Maneskin
5 Nemo
Kind of unrelated but still something you mentioned: why do people seem to not like Loreens “tattoo-o-o hook”? Nobody says anything about Nemo’s ”broke the code, whoah-o-o”. Just an observation of mine.
For me, it's mainly becuase she repeats it waaaay too much. Also, I don't really know what that song is about, and I'm from Sweden. Also, Nemo has the better singing voice, Loreen has (to me) a somewhat annoying singing voice.
I think that maybe it's because these two songs are just different. Nemo's "woah-oh-oh" actually is a reflexion of the operetic part of the song so to me, it feels more than just a phrase to "fill" the verse but rather a well-thought component of the song that helps to connect its different parts.
@@silencestation557 Interesting observation and reflection! I hadn’t thought of that.
@@silencestation557 Totally agree, Nemo's "woah-ohoh" adds to the song and it matches its vibe. "Tattoo - oo- oo" is like moment they couldn't think of a lyrics to add so "oo--oo"
I dislike both tbh.
Musically, it's not my favourite. But Ukrainian win was the most moving for me, and I don't think it will change. It was a very special moment in time, and I cried a bit when they were singing. The context of a performace is as important as the performace itself, for me. Was it a political win? Partly. But, no other winner made me feel as much as Kalush Orchestra in 2022. But, I generally don't mind politics in Eurovision, it's just another layer of what makes it interesting for me.
yeah hardest performances is a great video idea!
Thank you for helping with my post Eurovision depression! Maybe you could also do a song battle of the public votes winners (also last 5 years). Just an idea.
Yay my winner too.
My ranking is

2. Loreen
3. Nemo
4. Måneskin
5. Kalush
I am a rock'n'roll kinda person, but I never got the hype for Måneskin. I have no idea why I never loved them as much as everyone else.
Duncan, though! I loved Arcade from the second I heard it and I still do. And if we give it another year I can see Nemo passing Loreen, even though I really love her performance.
Many fans just loves beautiful Damiano... (and leaved him, when he shaved his head... what a"real fans"😵💫 ) So ,older people, like me ,loves idea of "rock revival", loves Måneskin live performances - energetic and provocative - very strong, including emotions 🎉🔥!!!

MANESKIN MY FOREVER WINNERS !
You know who is the best last 5years...the one who got most public votes , Baby Lasagna (337). Others had: Loreen 243, Maneskin 318, Duncan 261. Kalush won with 439 (but we all knew its because of solidarity with Ukraine that year). Nemo had only 226, the lowest score. Bravo to the jury who raped the result
1. Måneskin (almost ideal winner)
2. Nemo (wonderful performance, but less charismatic for me)
3. Loreen (good performance too, but a little generic song for me)
4. Dunkan (song is very beautiful, but staging was kinda boring; I like visual part of the contest, that's why we watch it on TV, right?)

3. Stefania - Kalush Orchestra 🇺🇦
4. Tattoo - Loreen 🇸🇪
5. The Code - Nemo 🇨🇭
I actually preferred other songs every single year but among these I’d probably go (with my personal genre bias):
1. Loreen (just an all around a good pop song)
2. Nemo (interesting and I like it but maybe not something I’d put on repeat)
3. Måneskin (not a rock person but I appreciate how tight the whole thing is and do like the “rap” part)
4. Duncan Lawrence (it’s fine but I just have no emotional connection to this ballad)
5. Kalush Orchestra (too messy but I really love the flute - the rest of the song is not for me though)
I think Australia's Zero Gravity in 2019 was more difficult performance than Nemo's song. Also let's not forget how skillfully Käärijä dodged that wire in the final. :D
Haha. I thought of Zero Gravity. But at least she was attached to that pole. I think it was safer than Nemos no?

Oh, the hardest to do performance is tricky because how do you rate that?
Nemo definitely didn’t make it easy for themselves but what also came to mind for me was Chanel doing that slick and demanding routine AND maintaining her vocal throughout. I feel that’s comparable.
There are probably more possibilities but if put on the spot right now, that’s where my mind goes.
None of these have achieved or will achieve Maneskin's worldwide success after Eurovision. They have demonstrated that they have an edge in terms of charisma and ability to make music of all genres.
Seeing the five artists it was immidiately Maneskin for me, the song really hits every single time and I dont really like rock music lol, I guess the song is just really that good. I've also never been this excited about someone winning as I was with Maneskin that time, every other year I had my own favorites. I was hoping for Joost taking it this year 💀
1.Duncan
2. Kuulash Orchestra
3. Nemo
4. Moneskin

I am Italian so a bit biased I have to vote for Maneskin but all in all that year had many great songs and the voting reveal was exciting (also shocking with 4 zeroes) as a show I think it was the best of all of them. 2024 was the worst not because of the winner but all of the controversy around the whole thing which takes away the fun from the actual contest
The question of which Eurovision performance was the most difficult is very interesting. I would also add Zero Gravity as a contender here
For me:
1. Duncan
2. Maneskin
3. Nemo
4. Kalush
5. Loreen
Maneskin is the last time one of my favs won.
Maneskin, Duncan really close 2nd. Nemo really really really close 3rd! (And I hated Maneskin the day they won! 🤣😂😅)
Are you doing this with runners-up as well?
I think yes
Maneskin, by far.
Duncan for me
Although Nemo had a good song this year and it's better than Tattoo, i'd have to say Maneskin have the best song because they were the people's winner and represent the last two year's 2nd placers that should have won. This year could have had the best winner EVER but the juries blew it but at least Israel didnt win. Nemo was a very middle of the road approach.
