Sounds like mine truck little loud on the highway but cruises really nice do you have a 4-speed or 5-speed? I just updated my diff gearing to 370 gearing it made it quieter on interstate
@@JoeJaap no regrets going with 370 gearing it lowered RPMs I have 33 in tires with 370 gearing Toyota actually went with this gearing the 60 series Landcruiser makes it bearable to drive on interstate I would highly recommend doing the mod cheaper than the transmission only negative is 1st gear is a little bit High if you replace gearing you have to replace front gearing also.
@@paulsthormes251 thanks for the feedback, I was planning on re-gearing both the front and the rear and running BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 - 33x10.5xr15... glad to hear that it makes the interstate better!! Quick question, when you say... "only negative is 1st gear is a little bit High if you replace gearing you have to replace front gearing also" do you mean changing any gearing in the transmission? Thx
@@JoeJaap no did not change any gearing on transmission yes I change the differential gearing to 370 to me it seems like first gear is a little bit slower. but first was always a crawling gear there's a big write-up on I hate mud a lot of people have Swap to 370 just so they could drive on interstate cruises at 65 no problem not fast but much improved. fj40 wasn't really designed to drive fast.

PAsssing the prius was the best part. Other then the true to life rattle sounds and ruff bumps.
