@subhadeep mandal you're right, but what I feel is that though BJP leaders have long tried to use the 'Hindutva Ajenda', Modi remains mostly silent about it. He hasn't been so outwardly Hindutva like Advani was, He rarely speaks so openly and outwardly about it surely a lot less compared to the smaller BJP leaders, but yet, the face of the BJP is Modi and that can't be changed.

His wife, daughter and daughter-in-law were subjected to insults and were dragged and pushed into the police van directed by the then ruling Cong(I). Now, that party is out of the radar of the electorate of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.
But she always wanted the “MGR” branding to succeed. People of TN were crazy about MGR. It was “MGR” branding that helped her TBH. Today we see “jayalalitha” branding of current politics fading away. She’s forgotten, MGR is still remembered and his branding still works.

YSR’s 2009 statement wasn’t a master stroke at all. His real master stroke was announcing free electricity for the poor in 2004 elections. I still remember how much ppl liked it and went to vote in villages just for that scheme. His victory in 2009 was just bcoz he delivered everything he promised. A third political party coming in for 2009 elections made it even easier for him.
He made chiranjeevi to stand up.

The incident you mentioned about YSR isn't his best masterstroke. The best one is during his first term when he called the maoists for "peace talks" and lifted the ban on them. He gave them so much freehand and spoke so sweet that they all believed him and came out of their hidings. They visited their relatives, went to movies and leisure activities in Hyderabad. After 10 days or so he suddenly declared that the talks have failed and imposed a ban effective immediately. All the "comrades" who were in a merry mood suddenly had to run into the forest. The state intelligence units wereput behind them and all their hideouts were known. Starting that day until 2009 he eliminated most of the ranks from the united AP. Today there's almost no activity in Telangana and all the andhra state maoists have settled down in the andhra-orissa border.
