  • The 2m extension cable allows you to put your ePropulsion battery somewhere other than just on top of your motor.
Like most things from ePropulsion, it’s very well made, and very expensive.

Question: On the subject of alternative arrangements--perhaps you can tell me if removing the tiller/handle on a regular basis would be a total pain or even feasible. Using motor on dinghy. The tiller/handle would be in the way of my sailboat's mainsheet traveler when on its storage block. Turning the handle outwards puts the prop very close to the plumb transom. Thoughts?

Hi Lois - you might find one of my later videos useful: czcams.com/video/3d2jzglB4fM/video.html . Does that help? Q

You're not wrong about these being expensive! I plan on making a DIY one. Do you know which pins carry the power? Also the Torqeedo one is 1/3 of the price and prom pictures looks the same unless there's some funny wiring going on

Ah, no - I thought they were proprietary connectors - can you get them elsewhere? It would be handy if they were the same as Torqeedo … Let me know how you get on!

@@quentinsf Cant find the connectors anywhere so thinking of buying a Torqeedo cable(£49) and chopping it up. I'm actually planning on a cable for an external battery, the Epropulsion one is £140 so only 2 pins would need wiring. Any chance you could figure out which pins carry the DC power? Not 100% certain the connectors are the same but they look like they are

@@jcanderton I should be able to work out the main positive line, but if there’s more than one ground It may not be obvious which is which. I’ll take a look! May be a few days, I’m afraid.

@@jcanderton Ah, sorry, I can't be much help. I tried measuring voltages across the battery's connector, and nothing was higher than 2.5v. I certainly don't see 48v anywhere.
I'm guessing that means that the battery needs to be told when to switch on its output (and perhaps how much power to send) by the controller/tiller. But I can't easily discover more without cutting up my expensive cable!
Let me know if your experiment works!
