- In today's video I'll be trying 3 super difficult fnf mods that people keep asking me to try. I got a ton of requests of VS Shaggy and VS Tricky and just Friday Night Funkin mods in general so here it is. Let's run a play through them and try them out!
The extra bonus is a mod chart based on Rhythm Doctor! If you haven't seen or played that rhythm game yet, you SHOULD
(I don't think I'll ever play Funkin Friday or other Roblox fnf games, the timing window leniency wasn't very fun...)

"Why did this remind me of riddle school" Thats because riddle school's art was inspired by madness combat, aka the series where tricky is from. Also big amount of madness combat lore comin in, tricky is a clown that got killed by hank (ninja guy) with a stop sign and the stop sign then became tricky's main weapon. Tricky has a device in him called the improbability drive which allows him to warp reality (its also the thing that revived him and made him a zombie) and if it reaches 100% he turns into the big boy, though in madness combat he is white because fire is white in that universe.

The Tricky Mod is based on a Newgrounds animation series "Madness Combat" so that might explain why "It's so Newgrounds"

Seeing the steady progression of charting from the FNF modding community has been something to behold, really. It's good to see mod creators taking criticism to heart and trying to make the best mods they can.
Also, theres a Camellia mod for FNF now that has charts for both the vocals and the instrumentals of the tracks in the mod (You can swap between both by toggling C mode in the settings).
Vs Camellia has a bit of an advantage over other mods, cause it was charted by 3 top tier osu mania players (Roughly ranks 2000, 500, and 250 worldwide)
@@joao34386 Yeah, the difficulty jump is insane there compared to regular fnf mods, because they already have experience in making hard charts of quality
Other fnf mods are getting to that difficulty* though, they are learning pretty fast I must say.
But it's obvious they won't reach THAT kind of patterning, since they are taking more of a NotITG path than a mania one

Fun fact: tricky is from a animated series called madness combat. It really takes me back to how the 3rd installment was my 2nd ever newgrounds animation I saw, with the first one being Nin10Doh!. His third phase is from madness accelerant, where he meows in that game, and his 4th phase is from the 11th video in the series, called expurgation.
Fun Fact 2: Matt is a CPU Mii from Wii Sports, a nostalgic classic game which(IMO) is best to play on Christmas. He is more known in boxing, as he is the champion of that sport in that game, but he is also the champion in swordplay showdown. He is also in other sports too, for example he can be seen in other lanes bowling in both games. The stages reference that he is the champion of those 2 sports.

I would suggest you try out the Cheeky mod. It's definitely one of the better ones, as it has great music, fun charts, and has a lot of creative mechanics

FnF is open source, you can program whatever in, the codes a bit wonky to work with though, as it's mostly hard coded, that's why each mod requires a full download, they've edited the source code, and it won't work with other stuff

13:45 To clear up some confusion, I think the creator might be European, cause European keyboards have a somewhat different layout, and trying to do "jkl;" or smth would actually look a little more like "jklö", which I don't think everyone even has that key, or that it can even be assigned as an usable key in the first place, hence them going for "hjkl" instead
Fair point, but that either tells of an engine limitation or of a lack of knowledge on the developer's part. There's a way to take keyboard input in a way that disregards the written characters and only looks at which keycode was sent, so you can actually be totally layout agnostic if you want to. Due to there being two different ways of taking keyboard input some games become unplayable when changing layouts and some games don't even notice the difference.
it's different in Latinoamerica too, i just learn that u guys have a different keyboard, like, "jkl;" in my keyboards would be uncomfortable
@@inv41id I mean, yeah, but it's kinda a lot easier to just shift the keys you wanna use one to the left than to do that whole keycode thingy (dunno by how much it's easier, not exactly some kinda game dev quite yet). In some games it could probably very well be a massive problem, but I think for this it's kinda negligible

@@MythicWiz technically you could change the scroll speed of the mods, but what makes it harder to read on FNF is that the play field is actually pretty short and it isn't a long angled track like SDVX. Some SDVX tracks go flat sometimes and my own scroll speed ends up looking way too fast for me.
Angled tracks is easier for me to set faster looking speeds but I'm actually looking far off into the horizon.

Fun fact: the "whitty sequence" in ruckus (matt week 1 2nd song) literally used to be jacks from ballistic.
Also, there's a ton of Roblox Friday night funkin' games, but probably the best one and most prevalent is Funky Friday. It has a ton of songs from many mods, even the old/new charts for the matt songs and ballistic, as well as a ton of Touhou songs! If you're into that kinda stuff.

Yes there is lore in the Tricky Mod, it does not follow its own storyline of Madness Combat and I'm 100% sure that the mod won't receive any other updates. The Mod's Lore revolves around some Cult that refer to themselves as the Greater Good (This Lore Revolves around The Hex and Vs Whitty Mod) They tried to captured Whitty and Tried to Hack Hex because he was friends with Him. They also as you seen Captured Tricky as well (But apparently many People Thought that the Girlfriend did something about Tricky, do to her being a Demon) as seen in the Cutscene a Symbol appeared (Which this Symbol also appeared in The Finale Song on The Hex Mod and in The Background of The Whitty Mod) in the Computer, The Auditor the main antagonist of the Madness Combat series is confused and raises and eyebrow (if that's what you can call it) because obviously he assumed he was the one in control, but maybe not after all. Anyway that's all have to say about the lore.

Yes, the tricky mod has lore, it would make more sense if you had seen the madness combat series from 2002 (i think?) , or played the madness combat game, but if you havent seen it nor played it, it wouldnt really make sense
With the matt mod, you were talking about a wiik 3 which i just want to say is fanmade, incase you play it thinking otherwise.
Also this isnt one of the questions but i thought id point it out because its funny. but you complemented the wiik 1 charts for being fun, but if you scroll through the difficulties, they have the chart that they first used at the release of the mod, which i wasnt a fan of because it was full of jacks.

@@butwhatif2489 There isn't an "osu level" becuase osu!mania has a scale in difficulty. Yes osu! has a higher difficulty cap but if you start play rhythm games with fnf you're not gonna be that much different than someone who starts with osu until your at most 3-3.5 stars in due to fnf not really expanding upon stuff like doubles, endurance, and long-note layering. (sorry im just tired of fnf players kind of worshipping osu players on a pedestal when they really arent that different at all)
