    The FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Fla. may be in a location that's less than ideal, but there's no way that it could be 45 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. It might be closer to half an hour or so. The Panthers need to be closer to Fort Lauderdale because where they play is a little out of the way for most people in South Florida.

As far as ticket sales go it’s not as bad as many think. similar to when Bills had their postseason drought ticket sales aren’t what they use to be but they aren’t at the bottom of the league either. They also went up at the end of this season as no one thought the Sabres would be that close to ending the streak.

    Having been to PNC Arena multiples upon multiples of times, I have to disagree with your take. PNC has to be one of the best in the NHL, it's loud, exciting and the fanbase in Raleigh is top tier. It's got a good location and I think moving to Charlotte would be a big mistake. There isn't a bad seat in the arena, no matter where you sit you can follow the game easily and see the giant video board which is helpful for watching replays and such, The concourses are pretty wide and easy to navigate and the food is great, it's a little expensive but what arena food isn't? You mention putting the team in downtown Charlotte, but if they ever did that, the team would be long gone from North Carolina. Charlotte’s hockey base is very…. Minute. • @sethmc36
      @sethmc36 Před rokem +3

      @@vagabondhockey6761 The Raleigh area has more Northeastern transplants than Charlotte. Back in the 80s and 90s a number of businesses from the Northeast and Canada (IBM, NorTel) relocated or opened US headquarters in the Raleigh area. Those folks that made the move had kids and those kids were brought up with the NHL in Raleigh as a thing. Now, those kids are adults and form the core of the fan base. As far as TV markets go, Charlotte really isn't much of a step up. Charlotte is #22 in the US, Raleigh is #23, which is bigger than St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Columbus, Las Vegas, and Buffalo.
      Also, it is true that the PNC Arena is not downtown, but it is still in Raleigh, not a suburb, about 15 minutes from anywhere in the city or more affluent suburbs.

I've read that it's a pain in the ass to get to by both personal vehicle and public transit. Having been to almost half the NHL arenas at this point, Prudential is dead in the middle of the pack. Most of the NHL arenas weren't built for hockey specifically, Pru is one of the rare ones that was.
      Other middle of the pack arenas in my opinion: Ball Arena Denver, Shark Tank San Jose (although one of the loudest), and Verizon Center DC.
      My favorites: Bridgestone in Nashville, T mobile arena in Vegas (loudest), and the new Edmonton Oilers Arena. Have not been to Seattle's yet or Little Ceasar's in detroit both of which ive heard good things.

I hate to admit this, but I have crossed that catwalk many times when I covered the Hitmen (who should relocate too) during my college years.
    Not surprised about Ottawa being on the list either. The original owners wanted the arena (originally called The Palladium) to be part of a planned community that never got past the arena stage. The only other developments near the Canadian Tire Centre are an auto mall and a outlet mall.
    Hard to believe there are a few arenas that opened AFTER the Saddledome (cough, condemned building) that showing their age and might need to be replaced (and probably will) before Calgary does anything.
