    Yes!!! This is so true! I was just reading yesterday in a book I am going to be doing a review on over on my channel next week about how bad sugar is for you. Sugar messes up your liver because of the high amounts of concentrated fructose. Fructose can be handed by your liver in small amounts that you find in fruit, but drink a soda and that is a sugar bomb sent streight to your liver with the result of fat being accumulated there. Thank you so much for posting this video people really need to hear about this!

    I'm on week 5 and here are the most significant things I experienced: (1) moderate anxiety, negative outlook, and mild depression for the almost a week; (2) my hunger "whispers" at me; it doesn't "scream" at me; (3) After about a week, my cravings for sugar reduced by about 90%; (4) Energy did not "go through the roof" as some have suggested. Some people make it sound like you'll have the post-cup-of-coffee energy all day. Not true. But, what did happen is I didn't "crash" and feel like napping in the afternoon; (5) I've lost weight but I'm not sure how much; (6) My thinking is clearer. I had started to have trouble sometimes trying to find the best word to say but now I can look for the word I want and it's there; (7) My endurance in a fasted state is amazing!

    I made it through 3weeks off sugar and simultaneously doing low carb/high fat and fiber made it much much easier. However, when I had a couple days where I didn't plan my meals well and had some simple refined carbs, it made me crave the sugar HARD. And that's when I fell off the wagon. I wanted to make it 4 weeks but having to start over now. I was bummed because I had already been feeling the benefits like better sleep/mood/energy/focus, better skin, and sustained energy. I'm convinced that cutting out or majorly reducing processed foods/refined and simple carbs is part of the key to making it easier to cut the sugar too. I also loved her tip/trick of doing a spoonful of coconut MCT oil to curb a craving (and I mix it with a bit of almond butter). It helps get past that moment. Power to you all giving it a shot!

    Ok, how about Dave and Steve do an experiment for a month to see if her theory is true. Being twins we should be able to see if there is a noticeable difference, I suspect not, but it would be fun to see if it works.
    So dudes, are you up for the challenge? Flip a coin to see who the 'sugar loser' is. 😁

    alright I went to the store today and for an example pasta had 1 g of sugar and right underneath it, it said added sugar 0 and I was a bit confused on if I am allowed to eat this if im removing all sugar from my diet, and then I got a bag of baby carrots, on the back it said 5g of sugar or whatever and right underneath it, it said added sugar 0 so does this mean there's 0 sugar being added to it but it does have a small amount of natural sugar ..just made me question because I didn't know pasta has natural sugar in it

      If you found this video interesting, you may also want to know that sugar has a lot of different names on ingredients labels. The first item on the list is what there’s the most of in a product! Companies don’t want to have sugar on their ingredient list, so they’ll use other names for it. Cumulatively, these different names add up to a good amount of sugar in the product!

      They use maple syrup for the ethical vegans and they make sweets for the sweet tooth of many viewers. They also use applesauce, bananas, and dates as sweetener to make these sweets " healthier". It's hard to please everyone. They don't necessarily agree 100% with their guests. I think they know most of us can decide what we want to believe or not to believe. They also appear to support a low processed fat diet which she apparently doesn't.

    I wanted to quit sugar for a long time but I couldn't 😬 then in found out about a McDougall programme called Mary's mini (starch based, of course). Did it for 10 days straight. I totally stopped craving sugar! I haven't eaten it since. So I don't really agree with what she says, that you have to eat fat and protein to keep you satiated...starch has the same effect 😉

    Some of her comments are direct from Michael Pollan’s book In Defense of Food. Not sure if this is intentional or not. He advises to think if your grandma would recognise the ingredients, the less ingredients the better, and to “Eat real food”. Mostly plants, not too much.
    It’s a good book for anyone wanting to learn more about cutting out processed foods and focusing on whole foods.

    • @TigerGreene
      @TigerGreene Před 2 lety

      Probably much more vitamins and minerals because it's fresh, and way better flavor. But the sugar is exactly the same and will have the same effect. You're removing the fiber when you juice it. In a whole fruit or vegetable, the fiber dramatically slows the absorption of sugar and resulting insulin spike; juice is just the pure liquid sugar removed from the plant.
