We had our amazing (New York Times Best Selling Author) friend, Sarah Wilson in the studio during the week and we had to pick her brain on some topics we thought our CZcams community would enjoy. One being Sugar and when happens if you quit eating it. We also shot a video on Anxiety and how you can help mould it into a super power. Check back next week for that. If you have any questions about t his video shoot Sarah a comment her instagram @_sarahwilson_

It’s making me feel weird how close they all stand
i was thinking the same thing
Their faces are so close 🤣
I was just thinking how uncomfortable she seemed! I would be.
I literally came to comment section to see if anyone commented on the creepiness of these guys.
Me too😁
Dates are still the best, nature's caramel ... yum
'people don't binge on chickpeas' Someone get this woman some hummus and see if she changes her mind plz!
I never binged on a hummus but I hear you girl. Your comment made my day 🤯😅
I relate to this so hard
Hello. Hummus on toast with tomatoes .
I cant have store bought hummus or guacamole in my house. I'll sit there with a pita bread and eat the whole tub.
Lol i binge on olives 😳😬😂
I went from drinking a liter of coke a day plus candy and other junk to no sugar, salt or oil plus went vegan. All cold turkey. Lost 22 lbs in one month and cleared my eczema in 1 week. If I crave anything sweet I have a medjool date. I’m vegan and clean eating to stay. Love you guys.
Liter of Coke a day???!!! I can't give up my Coca-Cola!!! Noooooooooo...............Well, maybe for a month or two. Ohhhhhhhh.
Why no salt? And oil?

"do not drink liquid sugar!" what a great message.
I have so much respect for Sarah Wilson she cured me of a lifelong addiction to sugar. Her books and recipes are amazing. Great to hear she is writing a new one !
Is Steve feeling the love? Staring into Sarah's eyes and listening attentively 🥰
Andy O'Brien 😂 is Steve the red one?
Nah the twins have love in their eyes for everyone. Its just who they are, kind, welcoming, warm-hearted humans.
Well you can tell by the touch on the shoulder it wasn’t just a touch of friendship and his brother is not only uncomfortable (scratch on the neck) trying to regain the attention but driving the whole interview trying to keep it an interview. But hey sex sells. (Rolls up sleeves) 😍
😂
He's kind of creepy
I am willing to go drastic if it means saving my life. A four-pack or six-pack is just icing on the cake.
#1 No liquid sugar
#2 Avoid Low fat dairy
#3 Avoid Processed foods.
#4 Only eat recognizable ingredients.
#5 Fructose is different from Glucose. Glucose good, Fructose bad.
#6 Eat real food.
Thanks for that!
Thanks Jasmine
I tried drinking regular milk. I couldn't handle it so I'm drinking 2%
Yeah she stole that from the Australian dietary guidelines of the 70's.
People binge on rice and bread. Since I stopped eating grains and processed sugar, my physical and mental health improved dramatically.
Funny that the first thing you said you would notice is your skin. I am 68 and I have cut my sugar consumption from enormous to 10 g per day about 3 days ago and this morning I was looking in the mirror and my first thought was that my skin looked better and felt smoother. I did not expect that.
I did Sarah's 8 week quitting sugar course a couple of years ago and felt absolutely amazing afterwards. The only trouble is I let things slide a bit. But I'm definitely going to take the best of what I learnt from all three of these brilliant guys and turn my health around once and for all 😃

Yes!!! This is so true! I was just reading yesterday in a book I am going to be doing a review on over on my channel next week about how bad sugar is for you. Sugar messes up your liver because of the high amounts of concentrated fructose. Fructose can be handed by your liver in small amounts that you find in fruit, but drink a soda and that is a sugar bomb sent streight to your liver with the result of fat being accumulated there. Thank you so much for posting this video people really need to hear about this!
Too right
Love you guys , 8 days sugar free , feel great

So what goods did you cut out??
Foods with higher calories from fat I bet. Sugar is not the enemy
I'm on week 5 and here are the most significant things I experienced: (1) moderate anxiety, negative outlook, and mild depression for the almost a week; (2) my hunger "whispers" at me; it doesn't "scream" at me; (3) After about a week, my cravings for sugar reduced by about 90%; (4) Energy did not "go through the roof" as some have suggested. Some people make it sound like you'll have the post-cup-of-coffee energy all day. Not true. But, what did happen is I didn't "crash" and feel like napping in the afternoon; (5) I've lost weight but I'm not sure how much; (6) My thinking is clearer. I had started to have trouble sometimes trying to find the best word to say but now I can look for the word I want and it's there; (7) My endurance in a fasted state is amazing!
I’m on day 5 and I noticed the same. My energy hasn’t gone through to roof but I don’t want to take a nap daily like I used to
This is so helpful ! Thank you for sharing 😊

Sorry guys. I cannot understand why you would have Sarah on your channel??? She promotes meat, egg and dairy consumption heavily in her cookbooks. She is keto with a bit of grain thrown in.

These two gentlemen are a happy pear ! Thanks for the great info to Sarah.
Oh I would definitely binge on chickpeas.
Just roast them with some spices and you are ready for a binge!

If you found this video informative, you may also want to know that while marketing makes you think brown sugar is more natural than white sugar, the only difference is that brown sugar is turned to white sugar by adding phosphate! And when it comes to gut health, brown and white sugar have similar effects!
I made it through 3weeks off sugar and simultaneously doing low carb/high fat and fiber made it much much easier. However, when I had a couple days where I didn't plan my meals well and had some simple refined carbs, it made me crave the sugar HARD. And that's when I fell off the wagon. I wanted to make it 4 weeks but having to start over now. I was bummed because I had already been feeling the benefits like better sleep/mood/energy/focus, better skin, and sustained energy. I'm convinced that cutting out or majorly reducing processed foods/refined and simple carbs is part of the key to making it easier to cut the sugar too. I also loved her tip/trick of doing a spoonful of coconut MCT oil to curb a craving (and I mix it with a bit of almond butter). It helps get past that moment. Power to you all giving it a shot!
so many brilliant accents in one room
I love her sense of humor!

If you found this video valuable, you may also want to know that The way that sugar affects the gut depends upon quantity and your individual health. If you’re struggling with candida, for example, sugar can make your symptoms worse!
Very informative guys & Sarah , I’ve been practicing all of the above last few weeks & feel much better & more educated on my foods nutritional value . Understanding food labels is so important as sugar is hidden in foods just by using different words we don’t recognize!!. Thank you 👍.
Vegan bite size is a great site?
Sticking close to whole plant foods is what everyone agrees on. Some advocate larger amounts of wholefood plant fats than others, and some decide that extra carbs are a problem for weight loss. Basically, whole food plant based is the key. It's good that she's causing people to think about the refined foods they are having, maybe these guys will show her why it's great to be vegan.
And she's anti-vegan 🤷♀️
@@stephaniewood4949 I’m still in shock why they had her on vegan site???
I feel so much better eating high fat quality proteins diet with some veggies and a little fruit. I have heard some Vegans and especially vegetarians long term develope serious health issues. I have noticed my skin is better, my hair is growing back and looks like my white hair is turning black. Allergic to night shade veggies like tomatoes, peppers though I can take the skin and seeds out. Sometimes go carnivore for an elimination diet. I think people have to go with what works for them. i do agree about sugar it is evil.
I’m looking seriously about plant based. I’m 63 and loved all meat all of my life.was taught that’s what’s for dinner. Lately I have been less inclined to crave that meat and the plant based stuff I’m seeing looks and sounds so good plus the older I get the more my body wants different fuel. Does that makes sense. I only but sugar for my old man’s coffee. Don’t use it myself anymore.
Everyone does not agree on this at all. I think most, if not all, people agree to whole food, but not plant based. There are many with autoimmune conditions and gastrointestinal conditions who cannot eat plants. I, myself, believe in whole food meat based.
fabulous and on point !
I feel a bit hypocritical - i'm watching this while eating a bag of squashies 🙈🙊
Me too, I just had a cream cheese and salmon bagel and am now sipping on drinking flavoured water, full of sweetner😭😫😖🤦♀️
Squashies are too addictive, had to give them up rapido for my health two o months ago
Is she a doctor or nutritionist?
According to Wikipedia she is a Journalist, entreupreneur, blogger, media consultant, author.
Thankfully we do not leave our health only in the hands of doctors...if I had done it, I would not be here anymore. Open your mind and let your brain work...
@@verenamartini8695 Doctors are not nutritionists and there is a vast difference between a blogger, entrepreneur and a nutritionist.
What is your point? If she reads and research enough she could become an expert in that subject. Doctors are people who studied enough to become subject matter expert and it happens to be medical. Many doctors are for sure not expert in sugar. I saw and know many doctors who are fat and look sick. For sure, those doctors are not fat and sugar expert because if they are they would take care of themselves and eat so much fat and sugar to be that big and sick looking.
@@ki5ngau Bloggers do not do that much research by comparison to a person who is trained in the field. Just because you write a book does not make you an expert. I could have a book out on rocket science and still know nothing on the subject. Just like many bloggers just go and look on the web and find a researcher. Fiverr is great for that.
I did not say she is an expert in sugar. I am just answering your stupid question.
Man the guy on the right wants to give her natural sugar for sure
Thank you for this important discussion :)

I hear you! I have been off for months as my t2 diabetes was hard to control. I may have had one or two bites of a birthday cake. One cookie and rarely ate candy. Cut carbs, too. It is savng my organs so this is imperative for me. Under stress from a legal issue has bounced me to once a day to have sugar in some form. Will be over soon and I will cut out sugar once again. It is a worth to me to save my organs and diabetes meds are expensive. diet & excersize are best.

I didn't give kids any sugar until they were in pre K. I wanted their tastebuds set on whole foods, then sugar was an extra. I still don't have it in the house, but was advised to not make it "BAD" or an issue. Both kids as teens now eat salads (& junk food out w peers) , athletic & not a trace of acne.
I had no idea sugar was that bad for your skin.
Good to see Sarah on your channel, I have got one of her books. She's contributed to my continued journey to be sugar free. One of the benefits is that my skin is continually glowing, and no more spots!!!
That’s amazing! Fair play. We are sugar fiends so we’re going to try and work on cutting down.

Still worth trying! Feel a craving for sugar? Have a medjool date or a ripe mango if you can get it. If you quit processed sugar you will be doing yourself a HUGE favor! Isn't it worth trying? Or at the very least - make a resolution that you will drastically cut down on sugar - if not eliminate it from your diet. Good luck!

I quit all forms of sugar, four weeks ago I’m 53 years old. Not only have I lost weight and I have a lot more energy but the most amazing thing is that all my aches and pains have gone. I used to have trouble with my knees, as well as my lower back, which the doctor said, was caused by many years of manual work but I swear to God forget your cod-liver oil capsules for creaky joints, just cut our sugar. It’s a miracle cure.

Congrats! I'm starting today
Might be a silly question, but I want to quit sugar, and I think of birthday parties with family and having no cake is so radical to me. Maybe I’ll start a trend to focus on spending time and having fun together vs about the sweets.
alright I went to the store today and for an example pasta had 1 g of sugar and right underneath it, it said added sugar 0 and I was a bit confused on if I am allowed to eat this if im removing all sugar from my diet, and then I got a bag of baby carrots, on the back it said 5g of sugar or whatever and right underneath it, it said added sugar 0 so does this mean there's 0 sugar being added to it but it does have a small amount of natural sugar ..just made me question because I didn't know pasta has natural sugar in it
Man, when I clicked on this video my mind went in a completely different way...
I have a question. When you say juice is bad, does it mean if we blend an apple and don’t strain the pulp, its bad too? I would appreciate an answer.🙏😊

If you found this video interesting, you may also want to know that sugar has a lot of different names on ingredients labels. The first item on the list is what there’s the most of in a product! Companies don’t want to have sugar on their ingredient list, so they’ll use other names for it. Cumulatively, these different names add up to a good amount of sugar in the product!
What about smoothies?

You use maple syrup in a lot of your dishes which is mostly sucrose.
They use maple syrup for the ethical vegans and they make sweets for the sweet tooth of many viewers. They also use applesauce, bananas, and dates as sweetener to make these sweets " healthier". It's hard to please everyone. They don't necessarily agree 100% with their guests. I think they know most of us can decide what we want to believe or not to believe. They also appear to support a low processed fat diet which she apparently doesn't.
Absolutely ... of all the knowhow out there ... your common sense attitude makes the most of a subject that's been overused, abused, for years all in the name of making a buck .... bravo 👏 👏
Love Sarah Wilson....but what's with the tee shirt sleeves guys??!! 😂
I wanted to quit sugar for a long time but I couldn't 😬 then in found out about a McDougall programme called Mary's mini (starch based, of course). Did it for 10 days straight. I totally stopped craving sugar! I haven't eaten it since. So I don't really agree with what she says, that you have to eat fat and protein to keep you satiated...starch has the same effect 😉
I didn't agree with her when she said that either. I follow McDougall, Jeff Novick, and Neal Barnard.

Some of her comments are direct from Michael Pollan’s book In Defense of Food. Not sure if this is intentional or not. He advises to think if your grandma would recognise the ingredients, the less ingredients the better, and to “Eat real food”. Mostly plants, not too much.
It’s a good book for anyone wanting to learn more about cutting out processed foods and focusing on whole foods.

What about drinking fresh fruit juice? instead of eating an orange you squeeze it and drink it directly?
Probably much more vitamins and minerals because it's fresh, and way better flavor. But the sugar is exactly the same and will have the same effect. You're removing the fiber when you juice it. In a whole fruit or vegetable, the fiber dramatically slows the absorption of sugar and resulting insulin spike; juice is just the pure liquid sugar removed from the plant.
