I think we all prefer those, but probably only a tiny percentage of the stories Mr. Nightmare reads are provided with footage. Honestly, if someone was trying to break into my house, the only thing I would have in my hand would be a big knife or a can of wasp spray. Recording with a cell phone would be the last thing on my mind!

@Billy Have one, but it, the triggerlock key, and the bullets are widely separated. I don't live in a bad area fortunately. So I can get a big kitchen knife or the wasp spray much faster, and this is the case with many people, even gun owners.

Actually, there are a ton of stories out there with footage and/or other types of evidence like photos, audio, documents, etc. Nightmare presents stories so well, he should look more into documented TC we’ve never heard before, like Mr. Ballen. If you haven’t watched Ballen yet, you’re missing out! He’s the best storyteller & all of his stories are on record & CRAZY!!! 🤯🤯🤯
While watching this video in bed at night, I had this strange gut feeling that my front door was left unlocked. I didn’t want to get up to check but I eventually did, it turns out it was unlocked. Shoutout to this video for reminding me to lock my door

I don't get how people are out here just "investigating" that creepy sound in the middle of the night WITHOUT A WEAPON!lol
Even with a weapon is really dangerous and stupid idea to go chasing some noises you don't know what it is. To best weapon you have is your telephone, you have to lock yourself in a room with a bathroom and lock it as well and call police and neighbours. Because not knowing who is out there, if they are 4 people they can easily take your weapon from you and use it against you. You need your telephone to be in a big number of whatever is outside.
The first story-it's very likely that when the poster described suddenly feeling uncomfortable at how dangerous it was for him to go outside and look around, that was probably a subconscious response to him seeing the figure move at the side of the shed. A lot of times, when we have that "gut feeling" that tells us something bad is about to happen, it's usually a result of tiny signals that the brain picks up on without our realizing it. The brain processes an immense amount of information every second, and we can't consciously process all of it. But sometimes, a visual or audible signal will slip in, and our brain will tell us that it's picking up that something is wrong and that we could be in danger. The poster probably saw the guy moving behind the shed, didn't consciously realize what he was seeing, but his brain processed it and sent warning signals for him to go back inside.
The brain really is an amazing thing. Always trust your gut.

That third story was pretty terrifying. Just imagine hearing the sounds of someone’s breathing at the foot of your bed, but discovering there is no one there. I’d have a hard time sleeping after that.

There was probably someone actually trying to break in and the person living in the house was so terrified by what just happened that they experienced either a nightmare or sleep paralysis which is pretty much understandable, I would too freak out if I were them

The animal sounds are definitely something like a fox or coyote. I hear sounds like that ALL the time. It’s weird they haven’t heard them before, but foxes in particular can make a wide variety of sounds. My mom has always described fox sounds as, “imagine what it would sound like if you tried to stuff a baby in a mailbox, that’s what a fox sounds like.”

So I listened to the second story "crying" over and over and it was a screech owl. Super common and the make a high pitched horse like noise late at night until early in the morning. It's how they talk to each other. Funny that the person confused it with a child crying because I didn't get that impression at all.

A little tip for everyone, if the lights are on in the inside of the house and no lights are on, on the outside they can see in.
If the lights are off on the inside and on outside they can’t see in.
If the lights are on both inside and outside you can see each other.
Turn off your damn lights and turn on all the outside stay safe stay the hell inside
My dad taught me this when I was little. He taught me a lot about home security and personal defense and situational awareness. I'm only now realizing that wasn't exactly normal, and he's probably a little paranoid. But I'm glad I learned!

Story 2 was definitely an animal of some sort. There was a fox that lived in the woods behind my childhood home. It would make screeches in the middle of the night that sounded like someone was murdering an infant. Cops were called many times for these noises, but it always foxes

The sound wasn't great but it was very similar to the noises owls sometimes make in the woods around my house.
Oh yeah it's either that or a coyote. When I lived in Nevada coyotes would yip like that all the time. Suprised they hadn't heard it before.

Second story is a coyote. They are very good at mimicking...which is very creepy. One time I heard what sounded like an infant crying but it was a coyote. Look it up on here, it's really...REALLY creepy. EDIT, I've spotted/heard them all over the place including when I lived in the suburbs with the closest wooded area being miles away.

6:40 that is 100% a bird, most likely an owl. Owls make a large variety of "creepy" nightime noises and are not limited to their usual calls.

The last story I can eerily relate to. It was around 2016 and my wife and I were renting a house at the time in a fairly suburban area. Our back yard ran up to a small stone alley and on the other side of that, a tree line to the parking lot of a major mall so we weren’t exactly in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, I woke up in the middle of the night and heard audible heavy breathing outside our bedroom window which looked out to our backyard. I slowly went to the window to peek through the blind but saw nothing but still heard the breathing. The window was about 8 feet higher than our patio floor so if someone was standing out there all I’d really see would be the top of their head. I moved over to our bathroom which was parallel to our bedroom to look out the window their but still did not see anything. This was around the time when there was a lot of clown sightings all over the place and thought this was one of them. The only thing left for me to was to go outside and check myself. I wanted to be quick if I was going to catch anybody so I grabbed my phone for a flashlight and my handgun and went outside. I was certainly nervous to find anyone back there but I approached quietly with my gun drawn figuring it would scare the crap out of anything back there. Sure enough, nobody was there. It spooked me real good. I went back into bed and shortly afterward I starting hearing slow but deep exhales coming from the corner of my bedroom. I know it was coming from inside my bedroom because it sounded much closer than it had when I heard it outside. The only difference here was that it was just deep exhales, no inhales. I turned the lights on to see nothing at all and the exhales stopped. I was up the rest of the night until I passed out by the first show of sunrise. I have no explanation to what was going on but never experienced anything since.

The final story. That exhale was probably OP exhaleing, but due to being half asleep still, he thought it came from the foot of his bed. The noise outside the house though, I have no explanation for that.

Something similar happened to me when I was a teen. When I was half awake in the middle of the night I thought I heard a few breaths come from under my bed so I ran out of my room to my parents. Turns out it was nothing. Hallucinating while waking up can be quite scary
My house makes those thudding sounds when it’s settling. The attic and the temp differences really get it popping.

The last story was genuinely scary. If you hear a knock at the front, back, or any door leading outside, always check. It is said that you should never open the door when nothing is there because it invites the sinister spirit at the door inside your house. That's why the person in that story also had another encounter at the foot of his bed.

I’ve heard creepy noises in the woods before from foxes. It sounded like a woman in pain.
Mountain lions, coyotes, and other animals make scary sounds all the time.
There are mountain lions who make a sound that sounds like a woman screaming during mating season.
There's a stray cat near my home which makes sounds like an actual crying baby at night. Will see if I can record and attach link to this comment.
Yh the other day i got back home at midnight, and i heard some extremely creepy screaming noise, i kinda froze ngl, but then i asked my sister who happened to be awake if she heard it and she said it was a fox... foxes make weird noises huh

The scariest part of the last story was the fact that this person never even attempted to call the cops after hearing clear, suspicious knocking sounds two separate times and a third incident with an apparent audible human sigh in their bedroom.

I think going by the footage of the door knocking with nobody there, and the exhale in the room with only him in there, it was probably something paranormal going on. Then again, it may not have been. I'd have definitely called the police.
I once heard a female sigh in my apartment. It was a loft so it had no bedroom with an actual door and there was really no place for someone to hide. It only happened once, but I'll never forget it. It sounded like she was crying and sighed, like hopeless. :/

Hi I helped the person in the story (Paolo) write it and live nearby. We live in Northern Illinois, not quite in the city but not super rural. It's totally possible that it's a rabbit. However noises like that are super rare around here and is what made it so unsettling.
@@thundercougar17seditor4 he mentions coyotes in the area as well as owls, both of which would prey on rabbit, you also get the odd mountain lion up there. It’s definitely a startling noise the first time you hear it.

The second story: the sound of screaming is actually a fox in pain. We had two foxes in our backyard who tried to bite each other, and one of them started screaming. It sounded exactly like the one in story 2, except much, much louder (obviously because they were in my backyard).
As for the thump, im not sure, but it could be a person who maybe was hunting foxes? Maybe he used a big rock or a knife that made a loud sound but idk

Story 2: I lived in the middle of nowhere and I can tell you that was definitely a fox. They scream like children being murdered while mating. It used to freak me out and I thought it was someone being hurt at first until locals told me. Fox's are freaky little things.

In our old house, we had SEVERAL times where our back door to the backyard had a knock on it. Sounded just like the sound bit in story 3, and it happened A LOT. Always late at night. I would light up the patio and could never find anything. Several windows were looking out on it, so I'd be able to see it.
We found out later that it was a bat lol. It kept hitting our window late at night trying to get in through the glass door I guess. Let me tell you how much of a relief it was. We did have odd paranormal things happen after my wife's grandfather passed away though, and thought this was a part of it.
