Apart from the a few squeaks and creeks, this was fabulous! Love the route too with the countryside scenery and beautiful views. ;-)

Thanks, indeed these E300s are quite high mileage now so rattles are to be expected unfortunately.

  • @ChilternTransportProductions

This sounds surprisingly good for a Euro 5 E300 with Voith gearbox! It does seem to struggle a bit at times but otherwise seems fine to me

Indeed, the Bluebird E300s are rather impressive with the right driver. In this instance 27799 had the gearbox warning light on so isn't really showing it's full potential
I had a good run on 27112 a few months back and it was much better - czcams.com/video/hWW4i5L7J_Y/video.html
Should have videos of 27534 (arguably the best E300 at Bluebird) and 27800 up soon, both being driven in the same manner! I never used to be a huge fan of E300s but my perception of them certainly has changed.
The MAN (refitted to Cummins) examples are even better as they still retain the original gearbox set up. - czcams.com/video/HSoH-j1ISKU/video.html

    Driver doing 'the trick'?

Yes I always do the trick when driving the E300s (it’s me driving 27799 here btw 🤣).

Have to say you've done a jolly good job making relatively tame buses seem rather beastly!

@@euro3fan3606 Yeah the E300s in general are very capable once they catch the revs like is seen here.

Hi, I’m thinking of heading up to Aberdeen soon. Can I ask what your advice is for vegging buses there?

    • @ABZBuses
      @ABZBuses  Před 2 lety +1

There's plenty of variety around Aberdeen so it shouldn't be too hard to find something good.
For Tickets look in to the Grasshopper, this will get you on every service and all operators in the respective area, you can purchase the ticket from the driver. Zone 1 covers the entire city. - www.grasshopperpass.com/
First: On the 1/2 (Enviro500 & Citaros) the Ashwood/Danestone end of the route is much better. Avoid routes 11 & 20 as these are usually quite slow.
Stagecoach: Expect anything to turn up anywhere. The SV58 plate E400s are best avoided. The 201 to Peterculter is a good run and the service sees a good variety of vehicles.
If you want something unique catch the Bain's Coaches Service 305 to Dyce, they operate a fleet of mostly BMCs and King Longs. You can then either return on the First 17/18/X27 or the Stagecoach 35.

Get to know drivers who are willing to put on a show for a video. That’s my advice and it’s worked here… 😉🤣.
