Really have to agree with the small coil for beginners. I got my first legit metal detector for Christmas last year but couldn’t really go out until march. My wife got me the Legend pro kit. First day I went to this partially abandoned beach so I wouldn’t get bothered and bother others. I had a hard time because it was really trashy. Basically a spot where no one swims because hurricane really messes the beach up. So people just go hang out and drink. 2 days later I put on the tiny coil that came with it and had a way better time. Easier to navigate the trash and recover good targets. I’m the only person that detects here so I was able to clean the beach in 3 months I got 5 rings and over $60 in coins. Not to mention 498 pull tabs and over 200 bottle caps. Yes I keep them all. My wife hates it but I have a 5 gallon jug I’m trying to fill with the pull tabs. Now I use the big stock coil and feel way more confident.
My son is getting an upgrade from bounty hunter tracker to vanquish 340 (he’s 10) but it’s a good excuse for me to get my 2nd detector! I found an equinox 800 with 2 coils used for $550! Love your channel always puts me in a good mood 🙏🏻
Only had mine for 1 day and its very easy to stabilize it. Also.... the little "blips" that dont register a number can be repeated and the settings can be tweaked to lock in on them and get a good signal. Love this little thing. Its all in the settings. Once you get tone you tweak it and can easily make it a 1-2 point swing.
x terra looks cool , I like money green color
I'm still using my old Explorer, you can call the coins before you dig almost every time. The X-TERRA seems about jumpy (although, it could be the soil).
I just purchased a Nokta Simplex Lite, I really like it.
Don't let a pull tab ruin a good relationship!. At least reality and honesty still count. I see a lot of metal detectorist on the "TUBE and some just seem to only show the gold and silver and at the end at their round up you see the crap they actually have to dig and the ratio of junk to gold/silver is pretty low, but then precious metal is better on resale or melting down.
I am still umming and ahhring about the X-TERRA PRO but it's price is more suited to my humble budget if I don't go for a NOX 800 and an advance on my money source. The X-TERRA PRO is up there. Thanks. I try to ID by flipping through each frequency. Interesting results. Hey, please make a video at a jewelry store bench testing several items each 14k, 18k, 22k and a 24k 1/2 or 1/4 and 1 ounce Maple Leaf coin or equivalent. The pure gold # is the most important. P.1 10khz & 15khz readouts would be fantastic. 5khz

In Australia on the van 540 if you use the 8in v coil it will find Thrippence and shillings one cent and two cents that the Knox 800 can’t find with the 11 inch coil

You dont have to use minelab headphones with the Vanquish 540 you can use any LL Blue Tooth Headphones.
I found a dime at 9" with mine.
For testing wouldn't you get a better numerical ID with the sensitivity at 6-8 being so close? Also, the ground adjust locked vs. auto? Recovery 2? 5 tone, At or Dp vs. 2 tone or 1 tone? Theshold or no treshold? All metal or P.1? Non ferrous vibrator on or non ferrous and ferrous vibration on? Too many questions?

I'll be checking to see if the Bluetooth on the X-TERRA PRO will pair with my wireless Wifi ear phones but I'm guessing that you can as I've paired them with two types of smartphones ,I think the Bluetooth system is an open source element so everyone can pair up their devices . im about to start detecting for the first time but 90% beach detecting im on the east coast of Florida i'd be doing sebastian to miami. Ive been looking at the xterra to buy because of price. im watching all the videos for everyone trying to get a head start on the hobby. Since your on the west coast have you used it in the Gulf how do you like the xterra for the beach???

Yes you can melt pennies or any coins to make anything. Just not for melt value. You may be able to melt wheat pennies for the copper melt value since they discontinued them in 1959

I Watch : Can you dig it metal detecting, Juice did say that it stabilizes the x Terra pro at 15 gain, but I believe he was useing the 6 inch coil for the equinox. But what I understand you said the V8X is for the X Terra pro. So maybe this coil might not stabilize at 15 gain, because this is ment for the x Terra pro.
I'm a total beginner and just purchased this detector. Do you have or can do a video on this detector for total beginners. i.e., what is a good tone, what does recovery mean, etc..

Buy the nox coils . Then when you upgrade to the nox you now have coils for both .

Sooooo, if you hunt in beach mode ( in park…)and use the Equinox coil would you find more than using xterra coil in single frequency?
If you melted or turn it into something and still sell it you're still profiting from it so what's the difference

Ok so let me ask you .? From the two the 6 inch in comparison to the 8 inch Wich one work the best on the x-terra?
Haven't tested them head to head, I would bet pretty similar performance.

is this better than the vanquish 440?
I think they both have their strong points. Vanquish is a Multi-freq machine which can be a benefit in some scenarios.
With the X-Terra you get a lot of value for the price. I think they are both great detectors and comes down to mostly personal preference and needs.
How much did you payed?
Do you ever set up discrimination on your detectors ..could eliminate the pull tabs ...Have the Garret GTI 1500 it loves coins

I think it's right around 9x5"

Currently I can recommend XP-mi4. I saw it on sale a few places for $89.
Over view xterra pro one of the best yeah PRICE EVEN LEGEND LIFT IT 25 MM UP MORE ON YA SWING YA LOOSE 600.00 BUCKS.

At the end of the day 5m water proof come on way brilliant for ya buck. See how cleat that screen is guess what I have. Lol. Not even mxt had other frequency it was only 15 good for coins but 1000.00 bucks back in the day.
On second thoughts you might be making more in scrap metal pull tabs and ally cans to your gold/silver is higher , but hey there's good money in ally cans and of cause copper/brass. Cheers Mate

Don’t seem with the xterra pro you call your targets very good. You call good targets with other detectors.
