Inductive cook top under the granite.

  • A client of mine just installed an inductive cooked top and had it put under the granite countertop so you can use the countertop as a normal countertop and then when you want to cook it turns into a cooktop. The granite doesn't get hot because it's magnetic and inductive which causes the pan to get hot but not the granite.

THIS makes more sense, having the controler panel IN a drawer, others i've seen have a blank panel with a LOT of gaps and useless space taken up. showing these mats is also really helpful to understand how it looks and works. thanks!

Never was it more fun not to know where to put the pan. Maybe instead of simple beeps the electronics could have a speaker that said "cooold... colder... warmer... hot... hot hot hot!" to help locating the burners 🤷

Imagine being that poor guest who wanted to help move the casserole away from the counter 🔥🖐️

I think there needs to be some type of markings on the surface to help make sure it is on the element. Probably just need to etch a pattern in the surface to dull the surface shine and that should be good enough. Then there isn't any guess work on where to put it and it won't be super obvious and distracting when looking at the counter. Being able to see the marking a little bit is probably cooler since your cook top is your countertop.

An invisacook single burner unit costs $1,200. A single regular induction is like $50 to $75. I'd say it's for the wealthy and rich.

Just an idea if you can find the center of the burners just put a small dot with a permanent marker or use a small chisel and carve out a small indention and stain it with a marker so you always know where the center of each burner is 👌

If you shine a laser dot where that point is, you not only know the general area where the pot should go, but now the dot shows on the pot and you can use the dot to center the pot exactly.

Or maybe a small light via the granite

would be an interesting idea to have a button connected to lazer pens on the ceiling that shine down to the center so you can toggle on and off the lazer

Any issues with the granite company milling the stone? We want to get invisacook but where we picked our granite won’t do it.
