      Wasn't Skinner...it was a total lackluster performance on the Oilers in general. Very flat...no fire, no extra stride or undying effort to get to the puck. If players are hurt they should NOT be playing!!! I don't care who they are, that's just plain stupid.
      The other thing is how can the whole team deflate at the same time? I don't get it... it wasn't just Skinner letting in weak goals...he actually kept them to 2 points...which is very reasonable ... it was lack of offense. The Oilers played all out hockey for 3 games and in the SCF of Finals they barely skate to the puck...literally backing up as a play develops and they just escort them into the front of the net. It almost seems rigged. If I didn't know any better that would be a fair conclusion. The Oilers do have the laying an egg syndrome from time to time...just I thought they had more will and presence of mind than that. Very disappointed. Hope it was worth it so they get their turn to win? All the Parasite "industries" like banks and betting Houses fund the NHL... parasites always destroy the host.

    • @wainber1
      @wainber1 Před 3 dny

      The Oilers as a whole severely underestimated the effectiveness of the Panthers blue line and forward groups were via their help of Sergei Bobrovsky to keep even more shots away from him that otherwise he would have had to stop. As much as I hope, with the Habs having won more post-1967 Cups than any non-Habs Canadian team, the next non-Habs Canadian team to appear in a Cup final will take a 2-1 or 3-0 series lead rather than go down 3-0, it's not so clear whether the 2025 Cup final will feature any of the Canucks, Flames, Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Leafs and Sens. It will be nice if the 2025 Cup final features a Western Canadian team playing at Ontario team. For starters, however, no Western Conference team, following the Wings (having since then been placed in the Eastern Conference) in the pre 2010 2000s, has appeared in consecutive Cup finals. Secondly, between the Ontario teams, the:
      - Leafs, excluding a lockout that torpedoed what would have otherwise been the 2004-05 NHL season, have only won a single post-2004 playoff game beyond an opening round series and have so many holes in their roster to fill that GM Treliving may not be able to completely fill for this coming season
      - Sens did earlier this week start to fix their goaltending via a trade with the Bruins that had sent Joonas Korpisalo and the Bruins' own 2024 1st-round draft pick in exchange for Linus Ullmark, but:
      -- considering that during the regular season the Panthers' backup, Anthony Stolarz, via having allowed 51 goals on 684 shots, put up a 92.5 save %, whether Anton Forsberg, whose 2023-24 regular-season SV% of 89.0 was his NHL career worst during any given season when he had played at least 10 games, will this coming season rebound still remains TBD
      -- having one good goalie in regular-season play so often isn't enough as the Canucks found out during their three seasons that had started with a stint in an all-Canadian division (North Division) and ended in April 2023, with:
      --- overuse of Thatcher Demko having contributed to a lower-body injury that during the 2022-23 season had forced him to miss 35 games from December to the end of February
      --- Demko, who during the Canucks' season that had ended last month, had played in 51 regular-season games, played just only one playoff one before another injury stint sidelined him for the rest of his team's playoff run
