Even the Continental does front as a legitimate hostel service for wealthy clients, which can also explain why business cannot be conducted on Continental grounds. Also, when John went to Rome during the second movie, the Roman Continental's owner asked if John was there for the Pope. It puts into context just how high up the High Table really is, because you can't just casually ask if someone is in Rome to assassinate the Pope. The literal underground of the criminal underworld is ruled by the Bowery King, who seems to be defiant of the High Table when the Adjudicator rolled in and tried to convince the Bowery King to step down and let the High Table take over.

Aurelio being singled out and beaten down by Santino might implied that the writer wanted this scene to emphasize how Santino was trying to hurt people who were close to John Wick. But I don't think the main idea went through at all. The scene seems just like it's about Santino bullying Aurelio to collect pizzo and leaving relatively peacefully considering his hatred for John Wick.

For the uninitiated, the dual clutch semi-automatic manual transmission is what killed the affordable starter cars made by the big three in the U.S. The idea was to take a manual transmission and efficiently shift gears automatically using software and driving algorithms. The problem was that these automatic gear shifts happened alot more than expected, and wore down the clutch destroying it. In a way, it's kind of a metaphor for the villain of this movie. His actions to plan and cut corners for efficiency ultimately lead to his downfall.
I never understood why a marker was such a big deal and trumbped the high table If John just informed the high table of Santino's request wouldn't they have dealt with him for going against the high table and his Sister? Like what allowed for Santinos request to be valid in this underworld shouldn't the rule of the high table trump that of a marker?
I think the idea is you owe a blood debt to the person who you gave the marker to. Telling on him and not killing his sister would be in violation of that marker and telling on him and still trying to kill her would be suicidal. *Spoilers ahead* The adherence to tradition is why John is allowed to demand the duel even though the High Table would prefer him dead.

It actually shows how smart Aurelio is and how he taught his men to stand back and stay calm unless he says, the actor said they even had a fight scene that shows more of his character but they had to cut stuff from his character and at first he was mad about it but later understood how it wouldn’t of fit into the story. His character (from what is known) is well trained and known but ended up working at the shop as he was extremely good at engineering and mechanics. He also received the txt when John was excommunicated/ when Santino or Viggo put a contract on him. He is also a trained assassin and his men are trained but not much is known about his background etc

This scene makes me wonder what happens when the person being interrogated actually doesn't know what they're being asked about. It always happens where the good guy bluffs with "what do you mean?" and the bad guy just starts beating the shit out of them. Like, what if the guy would actually be willing to give up the information, but your cryptic ass just refuses to ask a straight question?
