    I've been using the Colbalts since they came out. They have a nice rich sound compared to steel and provide much more output. Only thing is that they eat through the frets pretty fast... I tried the MSteel too, they were waaayyy too fucken bright for me and didnt like the feeling at all. I didnt expect such a gap between Cobalt and Paradigm strings, I'm gonna have to give 'em a shot

    So how do I cash in on the guarantee? I broke a b string the third day after it was strung On My Guitar and that was from normal playing

    One gig and mine are oxidizing already, not impressed so far :(

  • @notalkguitarampplug-insrev784

    Stainless steel frets needed for that

    In your demo I noticed the biggest difference with the paradigm when played clean. They definitely sounded louder to my ears. Couldnt tell a difference with gain

    £17 per set? jeez, that is a pretty hefty price tag for some strings. They better be divine for me to be paying that for strings :P

    Paradigm is a lot more cleaner and not as “nasaly” which is why I like it

    More highs on the paradigm?

    Cobalt sound nice! The paradigms seemed to feature darker tones or deeper bass

    Now, out of curiosity, how much more do the Paradigm cost than the regular nickel set?

    • @stringsdirectTV
      @stringsdirectTV  Před 7 lety

      Jason Itkin paradigms are £16.99 but should last you at least 3 times longer so the price is pretty inline with standard slinky in that respect. Hope that helps man !

    the Paradigm set sounds gritty. Can't wait to try them out. The cobalt set sounded good too. Maybe i will try both sets. Do the Cobalt's really wear down fret wire like ppl say? Or is it just minor and not that noticeable?

    • @scottbriscoe013
      @scottbriscoe013 Před 7 lety +4

      x7stringinJSCx the Cobalts eat up traditional fret wire like crazy. A lot of players can't tell when their frets need crowning anyway, but the cobalts you can feel digging into the fret wire on the wound strings.

      I’ve been using cobalts now for a year on all of my PRS guitars. I did notice some wear on the 3-SE model frets but on my 8-US core models I hardly see any difference.

      Cobalt is harder than stainless steel. It eats traditional fret wire.

    Something about the paradigm strings sound a bit strang

  • @ShinKuro99
    @ShinKuro99 Před 2 lety

    traditional slinky is more warm , cobalt is moore loud and unique, m-steel is louder than cobalt with bright, paradigm is longlife strong more louder than traditional slinky and it kind a still little warm like the tradiotional slinky, how about you guys..

    According to strings it's just a matter of taste... you'll need to try them to adopt them. All the compliments that you can read are not truly realistic. I red a lot about D'addario NYXLs which are great strings too, but when I replaced them with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky Stainless Steel strings there was a night and day difference in tone and playability. Those strings are just what I was looking for. They are tight with just enough clarity, they bend easily and they stay in tune even better than the NYXLs. As a set has to be replaced at least every month, I think there's no use buying expensive strings like Paradigm or Cobalt. Nowadays, even regular strings don't break that much as ten years ago!

    I haven't tried them but in the UK they are well overpriced. Hiked to 3 times the price of Ernie ball Slinky's and that can't be justified

    • @stringsdirectTV
      @stringsdirectTV  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Antoine - I hear what you are saying but they are made to last 3 times longer so 3 sets of normal Slinky are reflected in that price. Gotta say they do sound different, heavier bottom end etc..they are definitely worth a try I think.
