    We were so lucky to be present at this event! "It is too risky not to change"... priceless!

    This is such a good speech!!
    I hadn't listened to a full Obama speech outside of his one in Berlin in the past couple months. But even while reading several articles and watching ABC and MSNBC, all I was hearing was the fluffiest soundbytes from his campaign, and thought he'd lost his edge.
    This speech disproves that completely. This speech is filled with solid proposals and meat and potato arguments.
    Obama is a smart, compassionate man. He's not perfect, but he'll make a great president!

    I live in Springfield. Unfortunately I missed his speech. But driving down Sunshine after work I heard on NPR that there were 70-80 people at an "exclusive" fundraiser today who paid $5000 per person today.
    I hope I got those numbers right but I thought "a traditionally conservtive, Republican voting, small city offers nearly a half-million dollars to 'Wild Bill' Obama?"
    Thank you Springfield. Can't hide my pride. Obama '08

    Despite what the Republicans say, this man speaks of his policy changes in detail regularly. I could probably name ten intelligent, common sense policies he has proposed for his presidency, and I've never even visited his website.

    Great speech. He clearly has ideas and he clearly knows the argument for change. There's more clarity in this speech than in any of McCain's speeches about what issues will ACTUALLY effect Americans and what he plans to do about it.

    At times you really cant believe everything a candidate says. How much of it will they follow through with. But Barack speaks with such power. So i say VOTE OBAMA!

    I like how he's becoming more familiar rather than formal. Still professional, but more relaxed. Keep it going, we need a free thinker.

    Go Obama ! This is what American needs, a strong, promising, and trusting leader. McCain is living with the past, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. If people are too rascist to believe in him .. then America is faced with bigger issues than the economy. We need to stop being childish about color and race .. Vote Obama !

    Reemed by a baseless, policy point that will mostly do nothing? I think not! Just because we open the oil to the oil companies doesn't mean they even plan to sell any of it to us. They are independent companies who could care less about you or me or this country. What do you think will prevent that oil from being sold to China or India?

    @ironlungs33 Před 16 lety

    no, he has already said multiple times it's about us. I get your point though - there will be uber high expectations. But really all he's doing is allowing us to live up to our best. Bush did not do that.

    great speech, but why does this look like an old sepia photograph? I kinda like it, gives it an older feel, reflects on how we'll be witness to a truly HISTORIC president.

    Wonderful speech!
    Does anyone happen to know what he thinks on Al Gore's new challenge to be 100% sustainable/renewable resources in 10 years?
    He touched a little on that we need to be heading in that direction but he hasn't said if he supports it outright from what I have seen.
    And if you haven't seen Mr. Gore's new speech you should, it is really good too. Very moving.
    But all in all, Barack has my vote. Plain and simple. McCain is just another Bush, just different last name.

  • @SuzInKS
    @SuzInKS Před 16 lety

    Nice! We need President Obama's pragmatic, logical approach to the problems of our nation!
    BTW-the quote today should have been: You know, I don't pay attention to John McCain's ads, although I do notice he doesn't seem to have anything to say very positive about himself. Maybe he just has nothing positive to say about himself."

  • @txbustanut
    @txbustanut Před 16 lety

    Less of a point and no real message? Guess you missed the second part of the ad where he supports middle class tax cuts and an investment in alternative energy. But your right though, nothing McCain said was untrue, although none of it was important either.

    Let's face it folks John McCain is on a downward spiral. What specific plan has John McCain given to us to improve our economy or one positive message since his campaign began? Barack Obama is transitioning from Presidential candidate to the first African-American President. It is my hope John McCain can leave his campaign behind with his dignity intact.

    Listen to me: at about 20 minutes in when Obama is talking about off-shor drilling and why it's a worthless idea THAT is impactufl. That is mind-changing. You need to just take that snippet of his speech and put it in a commercial -- no voice-over, imaging, or flag-background necessary. Go over the 30-sec. spot, it's worth the investment.
    Seriously, you're getting REEMED about this off-shore drilling thing and undecided voters aren't going to youtube to see what Barack has to say. COMMERCIAL.

    Obama is what America needs right now. This country is in so much bad shape. McCain is seriously living in a cave if he thinks everything is right with this country. We need change! If we all vote Obama for president, we would all be helping to make this country better.
