This what the Co-op should have done with its 800 gallon and 16g tank. THIS is an interesting, fascinating aquarium. My only caveat on Aaron's set up is that those fish are going to need a much larger tank soon.

The swords seem to be slowly giving up in the salt, but experimenting with mangroves would be neat. Add some Archerfish too. Monos are cool. Scats slowly torture each other to death.

@@CreepturesLair they are just like puppies dude they can be nasty but with time once they get to know you and become more confident... I swear, they even come out of their cave and shake their heads a few times then just stare at you and sometimes they even come out of their place and do silly stuff, not for food or anything.. but just to get your attention! I had mine since 2015, she was only a few centimeters long... And then she came to be 40 something centimeters... Sadly she/he passed away some months ago while feeding... Usually I gave her tilapia which she/he loved it.. One day at the fish market they were out of it so they sold me other type of fish which I noticed was extremely fatty and the guy who cut the portions (supposedly spineless as I requested...) When I came home I felt a little spine... I remove it but it was to late... She tried to swallow the portion but it got stuck I tried everything I could Possibly do to save her/him.... But my buddy eventually passed away....
Enjoy the one you have; they are awesome!!

@@CreepturesLair totally agree! Mostly because they pack a really nasty bite... You don't wanna get bitten by a gymnothorax tile... Once they get to know you, most probably its not to hurt you.. but they track by smell and when they have their target right locked of ... Wow... It's amazing.. They strike with such an amazing speed and bite strength...Then the secondary jaws... But even without using their awesome secondary alien like weapon, just their their primary jaws packing really sharp teeth + bite strength + that anticoagulation substance in their mouth... Yeap it's a promised trip to the ER. One of the workers at my LFS thought that he could just stick his hand inside the tank of their store pet gymnothorax and grab his/her cave in order to show her cause it didn't wanna come out (the store was full of people, really bright white fluorescent lights everywhere... And for some reason he turn on the lights of her tank as well...)
Immediately "the show" turned into an unexpected dramatic event... they had to rush him to the hospital,... It Was a nasty injury, lots of blood everywhere and that's all I'm goona say..hehe. Nevertheless Morrays are often lovely pups full of personality.

The old Steinhart Aquarium Sam,had an Archerfish brackish tank that was sort of a paludarium also. What they did was add Mangrove roots with oyster shells glued on. Looked very nice. I consider Mono sebae to be one of the most elegant fish that can be kept. I saw 6 large ones brought in as a trade at the LFS many years ago and they were magnificent..deep bodys. I have yet to see a large tank on youtube with them. A shame. Scats are great and personable. Just watch they don't over eat themselves to death because they will.
