Along with other hikmah of Allah, the purpose of having the Malaks help the muslims and not directly do the job is that Allah will help and everything is done with the will and blessing of Allah but a sabab (سبب) is a must. This is a natural phenomena that we see in our lives everyday. We say flaan and flaan died in a car accident or disease or this and that, well, the car accident was a sabab that was willed and decreed by Allah Rabbul Izzat, and Allah Rabbul-Izzat knows best.

It is very important to understand that Prophet pbuh understands that Banu Hashim can provide great support to Muslims and they are just at arms length of becoming Muslims as they have helped Prophet pbuh before too. If you think that Prophet pbuh asked Abbas to be captured and not killed is injustice, think why he'd risk lives of his own tribes people Ali RA, Hamza RA and send them in the Mubaraza

I need something to be clarified. Was the battle of Badr fought on Friday. I used a Hijri to Gregorian calendar converter and I found that the B. of Badr happened on Tuesday 13th March, 624CE. This is the 17th Ramadhan, 2AH. Please clarify someone as to why he said FRIDAY?
Hijri calender changes, due to the seeing of the new moon. So, you can never actually have a proper hijri-gregorian converter.

In Surah Imran: Allah’ (SwT) mentioned 3000 Angels. Not 1000 for Badr.
Quran 8.9
[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another."
Muhammed E And recall when two groups from among you were inclined to flag although Allah was their protector; it is in Allah that the believers should put their trust. (122) For sure Allah helped you at Badr when you were utterly weak. Beware, then, of Allah; perhaps you will be thankful. (123) And recall when you said to the believers: 'Will it not suffice you that your Lord will aid you by sending down three thousand angels? (124) If you are steadfast and mindful of God, even though the enemy should suddenly fall upon you, your Lord will help you even with five thousand marked angels.
