This would definitely get more people to the track wanting something more that just wishing for an opportunity such as this! I went IHRA years ago because of some of the dumb rules of the NHRA GET IT ON LARRY!!!
NHRA has the greatest tool for the fans and they don’t want it and also suspends Larry Dixon over it. COME ON NHRA. I’m very disappointed

I'd totally go if I had the $$$$ NHRA has become the NHRGAY as hell. 1st 1320 to 1000 now banning Larry, one of the coolest dudes you will meet at a track. Up there with Dean Skuza and that's saying something. Always great with my sons at the track when they were just boys seeking an autograph. Don't give up!

Hey Larry, do you remember the 2003 U.S Nationals that got rained out?
I was only 13 at the time. My dad and I came from Toronto, Canada and wanted to walk through the pits one last time after the races were canceled. It was absolutely POURING rain like I've never seen before.
As we walked by your trailer, soaked, you waved us under your trailor canopy and talked to us for half an hr until the rain slowed a bit.
I'll never forget that moment.
By the way, this ride would be incredible.

OMG.... I hope they have reasonable prices for the common guy.. I would be guessing $2K. Even though it costs $9-25K per run most of the time for these cares. Also I hope they offer a 1/4 mile run as well. I also hope they make a circuit run at different tracks..... St. Louis for sure!!!!!! My home track!!! Great Idea.
At the Northwest Nationals at their "Nitro School" they mentioned that the cost per run for a fuel car is around $1200-$2000 per run
I would guess that you can forget about 1/4 mile runs. Since they dont race 1/4 now they dont have the parts, the tune up. the experience.
If it's not safe for the pros why would it be safe for a passenger? It wouldn't be safe and it would be feast for attorneys.
so lets see, you want lower prices and longer runs even though Top Fuel no longer races 1/4 mile. Champagne taste and beer budget comes to mind. Some things just cant be done.

That is actually fuel not smoke. During burnout there is not much load on engine and often times it will put cylinders out from an overly rich condition. Top fuel cars will run a fuel pump that at wide open throttle it will pump 100+ gallons per minute. As soon as you close throttle at end of burnout cylinder will light right back up.

NHRA should be all in on this, I don't understand why they won't allow this once in a life time experience to go forward.. is it a insurance thing ?
It’s going. Just not with them. We have insurance. K&K. The best in motorsports. Same as the Indycar Experience. Initially I had the blessing to proceed with the past president. The hurdle is their in-house counsel. She is worried someone will go for a ride and have a heart attack and die and they will be sued. Her words not mine. 5+ years, approaching 50 runs, no such case. Just incredible once in a lifetime memories. Thanks for commenting.

Yes it’s $10,000.00 for 1 pass. I did it. You need to realize it costs them $8,000.00 per pass so there not making a lot for their efforts.
If I didn't weigh 320 lbs I would go for a ride

😐 for this car, it uses 11 gallons for a burnout and a run.

I think the NHRA would let you run events if they get some $ out of it. Plus what about the IHRA or other sponsor events. Since the NHRA didn't think about it, they are against it. As far as safety goes, He ( Larry) would never build an unsafe car, he's also at risk. But you take the same risk getting on a L.A. freeway at speed. The odd's of an accident are there, the danger is there, but having a past champ at the wheel and a car built for one reason with safety in mind, the odds are with you for a safe, exciting ride. People with health problems should be checked out of the picture, no need for a person to " take the last ride of his or her life" knowing that the speed and the forces brought forth from 10,000 H.P. could be fatal. So in closing I think it's up to the person that is healthy and passes a test, pays the fees and get's in on his or hers own volition, then it can't be as bad as a loop de loop rollercoaster. Hope I didn't go too far.
I don’t think they do a full hit. They just blow the tires off from the start and that’s it.
Not many people can afford to pay for a full hit. It costs several thousand dollars for a top fuel car to do a full hit.
Top fuel experience rides are limited to 1/8 mile. That means you travel 0-250 mph in just over 3 seconds.
