Build a Cheap Electric Duster with a Shop Vac.

- Hand dusters work for small jobs, but for larger applications, like dusting wall voids or ceilings, you need something that puts out a lot of dust. If you really want to kill the bugs, then build one of these. It works with all dusts, including diatomaceous earth, and boric acid.

A good tip I saw somewhere for dusting outdoors is mixing a certain amount of diatomaceous earth with water in a cheap pump sprayer and spraying around the edges of home and windows, etc. When it dries it's powder and dusted to the spots you sprayed.
The problem is that diatomaceous earth (DE) only works for some species. Also, it will wash away when it rains. I think it works better to use real pesticides for outside use. Please watch my video on how to treat the exterior of your house. The products in that video are safe enough for children to play on after they dry. They stay where you apply them and will last 60 days. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

@@GuysPestSolutions Thanks, Guy! I currently use Talstar P in the yard and perimeter, but have tried the DE in the past as an extra barrier and not sure I really saw results. My biggest issue is tree falloff collecting near the house and simply taking the time to collect it so the roaches and palmetto bugs don't feel too at home. I'll take a look and see what you recommend in your other video - I appreciate it!

My crawl space and half basement has tons of spiders in them. Basement is for boiler, hot water heater, washer and dryer, storing stuff , not a living space ! What should use or do to kill and get rid of them??? Thx🙏

Yes. That would not be unusual. This sounds like you may have German cockroaches. Please watch my video on the subject. The video will show you how to identify them and how to treat them. @@user-tm6dv8hs2j The kind of dust will depend upon the target pest and whether you are looking for a quick kill or a slow kill. Yes. There are times when you want a slow kill. An electric duster is usually best for applying large amounts of dust, like when you are using boric acid or diatomaceous earth, and you need to apply them in large areas, such as wall or ceiling voids. For most dusting, you just need a hand held duster. A little dust goes a long way when dusting cracks and crevices. If you have a specific bug in mind, I can tell you the best thing to use.
