So the mom talked her husband and son into killing the other son’s ex and family, and then she testified against both of them at trial!

This is of the most brilliant opening statements I've seen to date. Incredibly easy to follow for jurors (especially given the complexity of the case) and flawlessly executed. I have confidence that she will help bring further justice to the victim's family.

He was drug addled and extra spoiled his whole life before he planned this murder. I believe he never conceived he would be a suspect. The adelsons are especially pathological.
I come from a family of criminal sociopaths (no idea how I didn’t end up one myself except that life always looked awful to me) and what fascinates me is that Charlie did this for his sister and nephews… but not out of love but as a way to prove he was the kind of man who is capable of being ruthless. I suspect Wendi worked on him, along with their mom (not sure if the dad was part of it on the same level?) in a way that would make me feel sorry for him except I think this was thrilling for him. Dan did not deserve this but his own arrogance and ruthlessness (and frankly, bigoted tribalism) gave the Adelsons the fuel to justify their malicious plan.

I’ve gotten the distinct impression that each case and trial is a set up for the next. This prosecutor is genius! She keeps calling Charlie “this defendant”, not “the defendant”, just so we know there are more to come.

I'm very happy with the job this prosecuting attorney did during her opening statement. She methodically laid out the state's case against Charlie. Can't wait to see Georgia have her chance. This truly a great team. One that can insure justice is served.

Sarah and Georgia are very, very good at what they do. Every now and again, you see somebody who seems like they were *born* to do what they do, and I believe these two brilliant women are good examples.

I think the Adelsons are miserable and high-drama by nature. They view themselves as exceptional. Making the leap to contract an actual killing just points to a collective trait of narcissism.
Let's hope the old nurture vs nature question weighs in favor of genes in case of Dan's sons.

Present day, February 2024. You were right, a week after Charlie was found guilty, Donna tried to flee to Vietnam and was arrested at the Miami airport. Now, she’s currently sitting in jail awaiting trial. Wendi next!! 👏🏼

Absolutely gross that wendy is not being prosecuted what a shame in this justice system. There is NO WAY this is only her brothers doign she f had him do it now she throwing him under the bus just like she wanted to murder her childrens father.
Her brother will have to throw her under the bus. For now there's nothing connecting her to the crime except that it was done for benefit. The state must prove that that she solicited help to murder her ex-husband.

But she said a LOT in her initial interview that could point to it. She was seen to be driving by the crime scene right after it happened which indicates a knowledge of it happening. There is evidence and reason to believe that she was trying to help time the murder at the time Jeff Lacasse, her boyfriend at the time, would be driving through tallahassee so he could be framed. etcetera. There is a lot on Wendi but maybe very circumstantial or speculative. Hard evidence on her is more difficult than Charlie, I agree.

the police did an excellent investigation.
This is almost ten years after the murder. If the killer and the ex wife just waited ten years the children would be young adults and no custody battle. Just stay put until kids are grown or old enough to say they want to stay with their mother or father. What’s so hard about that? Especially since it doesn’t seem like she was suffering at all.

Now, Charlie faces life in prison.

Ooh, I remember back when this happened! Right away her brother was the lead suspect! It just took time and good investigative skills to finally hold him accountable. It's sad because there really aren't any winners! Those kids, now 13 and 14 are old enough to decide which parent they want to live with. This murder was pointless and selfish in the big scheme of things. My father meant the world to me! Those kids should have their loving father now!! Shame on everyone who caused this, you had no right to play God. 💔
The big problem are their egos! I hope all of the players are brought to justice. Everyone, including the kids, lose in the end. And how anyone thought they would get away with this, shows that the ego is wrong every time!

This case was over about halfway through this opening statement. That was masterful.
Wendi did not leave the Adelson to cleave to Dan. It was a foundational issue. The custody challenge was only the last straw that shattered the unwholesome conjugal relationship. Dan's blood is crying from the ground like Abel's seeking for vengeance. The Alderson, I feel, has murdered sleep and they shall sleep no more. It would have been a win-win situation if Dan had not been murdered. R.I.P Dan and ensure all that led to your untimely death are severely punished.
Wendy changed the boys name cause of all the publicity (she said) it was getting (as a victim of a crime) his llast name was getting
BUT since the Alelson name now has been connected to murderers I wonder why she hasn’t changed their name again, I mean if she was being honest about changing their last name cause of the publicity. One was a victim (Dan Markel) the other being the actual murderer’s (Adelison)
Wendi has a childish mind (her mother chose Dan for her, Jeff Lascasse said it in interviews) she should have changed the boys' last name to Larry, this way the world wouldn't have known their identity. One of the top schools in Miami declined boys' applications due to not wanting publicity with a name like Adelson
