2:21 I love that moment where Danny notices and is appropriately confused by what is essentially an animation error with Max being in two different locations in this scene. Really shows how Mark Dindal had a knack for having his characters lean on the 4th wall even before Emperor's New Groove.
Never in my life have I ever found a bad guy that I love so perfectly. Normally I would resort to one of my favorite Disney Villains, but Darla literally is just so interesting in my opinion. Yeah while the concept of a little bratty character has been made many times before, Darla has a unique design, amazing voice actor, and a perfectly well done character. While most brats would either act way too innocent and annoying where they aren’t likable, they made Darla the perfect amount of a villain because of how much of an obstacle she can be. I love the animation of her portrayal in this song and the smooth frames makes it so intense with all the details! This truly is an amazing movie that definitely deserves a lot more praise than it did back then. The story is absolutely intriguing and nobody comes off as annoying or stupid. I’ve seen a lot of animated movies but this one gives off an amazing vibe. Like as if we can jump into the picture and join them. Very rarely do I see movies do that where they give off some amazing energy to get the crowd in.
I always remember the tiny little animation details in Darla's acting. At 3:19 when she says "around" her whole body bounces around in anger, and it's such a strange little detail. They consistently made sure that all of her acting was pretty unique and psychotic. For example, at 3:52, they could've easily made her move more in the Bald Mountain pose, but instead decided to hold it to show just how committed she is to the pose.
looks like the animators make her twitch like that to match the voice actors vibrato. she did the same movement when she says “today” as well cause of the singing
There's a lot of spoiled girl as a bully/villain characters in animation, but Darla and Princess Morbucks are definitely the best villains to showcase that!
One time a horrible ex boyfriend of mine showed me this video. He kept comparing me to Darla. Saying that all I was good for was being "big and loud" like her. He was truly a horrible, nasty, person whose only aim was to bring me down. Too bad for him I grew quite fond of Darla, and this song in particular, when I watched the movie for the first time. Darla would have never let any man treat her like how this man treated me. She's funny, boisterous, talented, and although absolutely insane, a fantastic villian...and its nice to see so many people took a shine to her as well ❤

... The fact that that was a thing at all concerns me.
@masakasama How are they overthinking it when it's literally what they're saying it is
From hearing some things about Darla Dimple on how she was the villain and all, I didn't expect her to have such an adorable voice!
there are so many great flourishes to the animation loke the snappiness of her expression after she pushes Max, the way the camera follows the lipstick on the mirror and shakes a bit i love it
This had no reason to go so hard, still a great song to this day!
i like how Darla's bow gets peaked on the edges when she reveals her evil side
This was the greatest song I heard so far ( Besides tribute) )
I will never get over how fantastic her actress was, I don’t think anyone could have sold this role like the gal cast had.
Cat's Don't Dance Was So Underrated
There are hearts everywhere, even in places you don't immediately see
Me and my 9 year old listen to this song like every day lol it's freaking brilliant. This movie is so underrated.
Makes you wonder is the shocking made her crazy
I'm honestly scared to see how long Darla's lungs are
3:49 The animation here is just amazing
Man I forgot just how good this character was. The writing. That VOICE! Stellar. And definitely BIG and LOUD!
I can’t be the only one bothered by the seemingly sexual nature of it, right? Like this feels weird and fanservicy, even if she’s based off of Shirley Temple (terribly tragic story)
thats what i was thinking first time watching the movie
You’re not
I felt weird about it too
This is still my favorite movie as a kid i watch it so many times on vcr till the tape broke
Max: Teleports
Danny: NANI
The was she’s rolling on the stage is killing me LMFAO
