  • This is the story of how the first RLCS World Champion, Lachinio, went from being regarded as one of the most mechanical professional players in the game, to have having one too many poor performances - failing to qualify for the RLCS and being kicked from his team.

    What's remarkable is the quality of teammates he's been able to assemble in his rosters. Kro, Squishy, Torment, Gimmick, Jstn, all brilliant players who have world championships under their belt.
    Unfortunately he was such an early player in the scene that he was always going to get overtaken by the new breed. These guys now are so mechanical, it makes early RLCS look like Diamond gameplay.

    • @malcolmmacgregor8837
      @malcolmmacgregor8837 Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not sure how well his connections are with RLCS now that he's outside of the main scene for a while, but being able to find star-studded players left and right sounds to me that he has some great potential as a General Manager, or an equivalent position (helping build the organization on an administrative level over a playing one).

      RLCS season 1 was mid champ level gameplay, and that was with comms, so to say that players for less known teams in season 1 had the individual skill level of a diamond wouldn't be that far off.

    What a lack of motivation, depression, and breakups can do to a person…it’s so relatable and sad given how bright his career started. It’s crazy how he has ties to the entire NRG roster, having played with both Squishy and Jstn while being friends with Garrett and an ex to Chell

      Yeah, but what's sad is that he barely got any money from it. Compare for example dota2 1st international and nowadays. The winner in 2011 got around 1 million USD (which is fine, that can last, but in Rocket league the winner in first season got 27500 USD - for the whole team).
      In 2021 winner in Dota2 International got 18.5 million USD

    Bro ur super underrated. Your editing and storytelling skills are super good for a relatively low amount of views and subs. If your rocket league stuff doesn’t pop off soon you should try your hand at some more mainstream sports like football, soccer, or basketball and see if that works out.

    Sometime around 2018, 2019, I remember clicking into Lach's stream and he was very upset. It was dark in his room and through some tears he was hypothetically asking chat/himself, "what am I doing," or something to that effect. I've remembered that because in the moment I was surprised and didn't want to say anything in chat, it felt like anything that could be said wouldn't help. Seeing that struck me deeply. I hope you're doing better now Lach, if that one instance was any representation of how you were feeling at the time. This guy went out fighting. Great video, but I think the heart and soul of this player and the depths he went in pursuit of this game are not adequately represented.
