    Keep seeing comments like "it will damage the couplings on concrete". True...but not if you get someone to hold it as it winds up. Seems simple fix to me

      If that damages powerlite couplings then I would not want those couplings on my hose.

    That is really clever. I rigged up a spool to wind up my wire pilling rope using a drill. Works great also.

    How about a quick method to unroll the hose which is way more important! I like how you stop the clock when he's still winding it.

    WOW! Now THAT's inpressive. What about when it's in high grass though? Moving pasture hoses around during the grazing season is nearly always in fairly high grass, with presumably too much resistance for a hand drill to crank throughj.

    Why doesn't he just wind it up from the end instead of winding it up twice? Im guessing some departments use it both ways.

    What do you clip it with? I've been fighting my pump hoses for years I end up duct taping them up, but its a huge waste of tape ND a pain every time I need a hose. So please tell me what that is and where I can get it id its a specialty item

    Will damage couplings. Won;t squeeze remaining water from hose. Eliminates "winding down" clean-up/pick-up period from fire fighting. Money could be better spent on PPE/SCBA or other vital equipment (or even beer). Sorry, but as a trustee, I could not sanction the cost of purchasing this.

    • @MomedicsChannel
      @MomedicsChannel Před 7 lety +4

      Beer? Beer has no place in the fire service. Proper rehab is good for "winding down" ... not further physical labor. And yes, this would damage couplings if used on pavement or concrete, but, to get a companies lines picked up to get back to the station. I don't see the issue. Walking lines out gets 90+% of the water out prior to rolling them.
      Lines need to be washed, dried and rolled properly anyway. This is a cheap solution for a headache...

    • @ConriOakfield
      @ConriOakfield Před 7 lety

      While I respect your opinion concerning beer, when applied to your own personal life, don;t try to foist your tea-toddling ways on the rest of us. We are a vol. department, not a paid one.
