A shoe I confess that I initially did NOT want to buy (or even try!), but after a run advisor at Fleet Feet listened to me and saw my running, ended up convincing me to pay for a (discounted) pair of Boston12´s. My first 5K turned into a 8K, just to realize I improved my 1M, 5K by a considerable margin, and best of aww: without 2 usually annoying distractions on the plant of my right foot and left calf (I have a hip misalignment problem). They do not work well at slower paces, but as soon as you pick up speed they just make (and help) you go faster with less effort for me. Quickly became my favorite trainers, will test them this weekend at Monterey for their first "unofficial" 20K. They are light, grip is awesome, and they DO offer a softer run but far from mushy. And yes, the 3 propulsive ribs DO work exceptionally well for me. My first and only pair of Adidas on my shoe lineup.

Good review, @fordy.. Recently, I got the 12's. 30k done so far, starting to like them alot... slightly firmer but does everything really well and easily cleaned lol, but I thought the speeds were too soft after awhile.. was a big fan saucony speed 2, 3's are fine also, a little more room in the toe box than the 2 and a larger platform/base.

You could but they are not designed or good for that - not for easy pace either. Moderate to Tempo pace is what this shoe is best at.

PS Adidas shoe laces are a bit ‘meh’ can anyone recommend somewhere with a nicer hold and good range if colours please.

I wanted to like this shoe. However after 50km I am donating this shoe to one of my family members. The lockdown absolutely sucks. perhaps I needed to go 1/2 size down but I have never down sized in adidas. I just feel like my feet are swimming in the shoe as if its a size too big. I have also tried a runners knot which helped a little but then it feels like i'm missing the forefoot 'sweet spot'.
Also the heel is too heavy for my liking. I have to accomodate my stride by increasing stride length, lowering cadence, and mid foot strike for this shoe and I don't like it. If you mid foot strike you might like this shoe, but as a forefoot striker, I believe there is better out there.
Just didn't work for me unfortunately.

Same with me. No matter what I tired it felt like they were too big.

For me these work great for faster efforts, but i dont like them for slower daily miles. Im surprised by how fast you can run in them, but they feel firm on slower runs. Hopefully that will change when they break in more. Still a great shoe!

I feel like on slower, recovery runs you notice that dip in the light strike pro and the rods under the forefoot but they disappear on your feet at more moderate easy pace and faster.

Due to the very good reviews, I bought the shoe and was mega disappointed. The lockdown is a disaster, as is the upper. After the first and only run, 15 kilometres, the soles of my feet hurt for two days. My conclusion: I stay with Saucony, the Boston 12 just doesn't fit me at all.

Bought them on your recommendation (one of many this year 😅). Done 40 odd miles in them and really enjoying them.
Did a 14 miler in them a few weeks ago and really comfy and totally agree re your review on a longer run. Also bagged the Addios pro 3 on offer and these are a great combo.
    Top work Fordy
