What Happens at an Immigration Medical Exam? An immigration medical exam is a necessary part of immigrating to the United States and becoming a permanent resident (green card holder). Sometimes called a green card medical exam, the appointment is a routine part of the process to ensure public safety and remove the grounds for inadmissibility for intending immigrants.
Purpose of an Immigration Medical Exam
The medical grounds of inadmissibility, the medical examination of foreign nationals, and the vaccinations administered to foreign nationals are designed to protect the health of the United States population. The immigration medical examination, the resulting medical examination report, and the vaccination record provide the information U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) uses to determine if a foreign national meets the health-related standards for admissibility.
Any of these four basic medical conditions may make an applicant inadmissible on health-related grounds:
    1. Communicable disease of public health significance
    2. An immigrant's failure to show proof of required vaccinations
    3. Physical or mental disorder with associated harmful behavior
    4. Drug abuse or addiction
    COVID-19 Vaccination
Effective October 1, 2021, most new green card applicants must be fully vaccinated. If not vaccinated, the U.S. government will consider them inadmissible to the United States. This applies to:
Adjustment of status applicants inside the U.S.
Consular processing applicants outside the U.S.

Being a USA permanent residence doesn't stop you from still being a Ugandan, or Kenyan or whichever country you're coming from, after receiving your green card, you can travel back to your country and go back to America without asking for visa, your green card visa expires in 10 yrs and you can then re new it. So if you're a green card holder you have two homes, America and your country of origin

    • @stevenroshni1228

To my knowledge you will do it in Kenya. But to be on the safe side, you can email the Kenyan embassy and ask. But I suspect will not be possible. The reason being all immigrant visas for Uganda are done in Kenya. For that case no authorized physicians or doctors in Uganda who have been approved and have contract with the US Embassy top conduct that medical. Remember, you dont to medical to any doctor or hospital, there are only few authorized.

No. the medical situation is the one which can cause harmful like crate a mass shooting. They are not going to look into diseases or medical conditions you have other than vaccinations and mental health.

Bwana, you over emphasize your presentation and it makes it too boring. Try and summarize your presentation without leaving important point. It’s my opinion!

Vaccins wise it is not only about people who enter the usa, it also about people who are adjusting their immigration status to have their green card while already living in the usa.
What i find interesting is, you are forced to take that vaccins which lot of people in the usa are still fighting against for their own personal safety. My view is they should have just asked one to be tested for covid 19 and if you are negative you are okay to do the other medical and submit your I-693 if found covid positive than you do the vaccins.
But now we are forced to take that vaccins just because we want to have our green card i find it very interesting.

Why do you complain ! USA is not taking you by force ! You people I wish you to educate to build our Africa instead of complain for nothing 🤮
