I did a faith playthrough on NG+2 that i only healed and buffed my summons, and didn't do any damage myself. I used Beastmen from Farum Azula. Its the only time I ever used summons, and i have to admit it was a really fun playthrough.
Ashes make the game fun, not always easy. I love using bad ashes and seeing what they can do against bosses or enemy’s. It’s a part of the game I shyed away from at first but completely love it

I totally agree with your thoughts and picks. It is not always about being op. Sometimes it’s all about the fun no matter how it goes. As for me I’m avoiding to use summons in my second play through on ng+ so I don’t cheese the game and improve. I assume you saw the dc story trailer. It will be epic
Redmane Knight I love him. He supported me in Meleina. Hes honestly a good hybrid. If you take argo he will fire arrows which stagger pretty good. If i get overwhelmed go near him and he'll, actually fight decently.
@@pastorgainzgames Just being sarcastic.🤣🤣🤣 But for real, Omenkilller Rollo is a very underrated summon. He doesn't do a lot of damage but he si a tank and can agro enemies preety well.
Currently using the fckin flowers with my Serpentbone samurai (i take the Servant of Rot against harder bosses). I love to pick my summons based on my build 🤣
@@pastorgainzgames the best poison summon are the Land Octopus, those guys are tanky af and deals poison + deals additional damage with their spray if I remember well (similar to pestilent mist but less strong)
Like the idea but the summons are next to useless and attack once every 3 minutes. Mimic tear walks around trying to figure out how it has a twin it never knew about instead of fighting.
My rule of thumb for summons is, if I’m genuinely not having any fun I’ll summon. This would be for like godskin duo, or fire giant

Ogha is actually great for fighting dragons at range (except at the freezing lake) it does an amazing job of helping you stagger dragons.

As much as I wanted to love mimic tear, it kept casting terra magica and bonking sht with a staff 😭 i had to swap weapons before summoning.

Summon redmane knight ohga at Malenia fight and watch him snipe her from a distance. She will stagger and you have a free charge attack or two
