It’s weird how Megan, someone intimately familiar with how it feels to be sexualized at a young age, ended up with a man who sexualizes young girls. I’m not here to judge her for it but I do hope she finds someone better than MGK. I feel like he parades her around just to say “look at me I bagged Megan Fox!” Which like yeah that’s a flex but also maybe respect her as a human being? That’d be nice.

To be fair her previous relationship was also with someone who sexualized young girls (including Megan herself). It's so so easy to fall into patterns of familiarity even as we start to actually see and understand them.
I do judge her for it. If she has both the mental stability and maturity to recognise what she's gone through was wrong, she should have the ability to see that when it happens to someone else. Unless she just doesn't care.

It baffles me that people defend Megan despite the fact that she has time and time again proven that she doesn’t hold the feminist ideals everyone assumes she does. She’s a Republican Trump lover from Florida, but people think she’s a liberal feminist based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever. She has curated her own NLOG “cool girl” image to appeal to men, making comments like “other women don’t like me because I’m hot” (I guess women who are liked by other women, like Charlize Theron, Heidi Klum, Salma Hayek and Beyoncé must be ugly then), and making up stories about dating a stripper. When the public speaks up on her behalf, she proves that she doesn’t agree by defending the very people who are accused of sexualizing her. She has said that Hollywood treated her badly, but never said it’s because she was sexualized. She got backlash for criticism of Bay, but she wasn’t criticizing him for sexualizing or exploiting her. She was typecast as the “hot girl” but to be fair she’s not a talented enough actress to really be more. She wanted to be the next Angelina but didn’t have the acting chops. And now people are surprised that she’s dating this man child who probably fantasized about her as a teen and makes her feel like it’s her glory days again. Some women (especially those with internalized misogyny) just want to be pretty and desired by lots of men. They don’t want more out of life.
This is a great video. My only contribution is that MGK has been my mortal enemy before pop culture shifted against him. He was opening for my favorite band Fall Out Boy in my hometown when I was 13. My mom listened to his music and thought his rap was too inappropriate so she did not let me see me see Fall Out Boy so he's my parasocial enemy

When you ask why then do you date younger women it’s usually something along the lines of “they’re so full of life” or they’re less “jaded”. Soooo by that logic, to me, it means age is the most important thing to them. Like they either want to sap the youth or take advantage of the lack of experience. Or both.
I don’t think age has to be such a massive issue between ADULTS.
However, if a person is consistently seeking out super young people, she obviously does matter to them…a lot.
@@CarlyonProduction The older that I become, the stranger it seems to me that someone would want to date someone so much younger than them, even if they are both technically adults.
This mostly applies to people around the mid-thirties and up targeting adults between 18-25; mostly because the brain isn't even fully developed until around 21-25+ for neurotypical people and often a couple years later for neurodivergent people.
Between age 20 and my current age (28) there's such a huge difference in who I was, how I thought, and what I would put up with. Even between ages of 18 to 20 and 24 to 26, I changed significantly. I'm sure I'll continue to change in a few more years, but I'm much more confident in who I am and what I'll stand for than I was 3-5 years ago.
Older (not necessarily old, but decently older than their target) people know that most early adults don't have a lot of life experience yet and are significantly easier to manipulate than people in their age range and older.
There are always exceptions (usually very aware and/or experienced young people have lived tough lives or been exposed to things earlier than they should have), but there's still a level of understanding that often comes with more life experience.
Most average 16-18 year olds have been primarily under the care of adults up until now (whether at school or home), mostly know what they've been told, and are still in the process of learning who they are as a person.
I know there are many people who have dated early adults without the intention to use and/or manipulate them, BUT people who *purposefully* seek out and only date new adults are definitely kinda creepy. For some people, the law is the only thing preventing them from dating teens, so they go for the next youngest group that's legal.
I think when leo says age doesn't matter I think he's talking about himself.
Nothing wrong with what Mr Leo does they are of adult age consent mutual so it their bussiness not yours people reach when there is absolutely nothing problematic many would be doing exact same thing given the chance

And I would add that giving birth shouldn't automatically be painful, that's a sexist belief (one that assumes everyone experiences the same level & duration of pain) and one that I hear all too often, as someone with severe chronic pain, as a direct result of period pain (and the failure of the Australian govt to secure a generic supplier for my birth control that went through a worldwide shortage in 2020).

It’s common in that community since pop punk appeals to a vulnerable and unstable audience of usually younger people with depression or similar issues. And of course these folks are bound to look up to the singers that make their favorite music, who hold both power and authority over them. All of this makes the alt demographic a prime target for pr*dators.
I love emo shit but I’m careful to watch myself when interacting with anyone with authority in that community. I’ve been through enough to know when somebody’s being sketchy. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy to tell that when you’re inexperienced and receiving what seems to be positive attention from someone you idolize.

I watched a ring maker here on CZcams go over if what MGK said was true, and the basic conclusion was no. The ring does have a thorn motif throughout the design, but there is not an actual thorn in her finger or anything (besides that would be really impractical for doing things that could potentially rip the ring off by accident). Essentially it sounds like MGK is being edgy and “poetic”, so basically the disappear like a ninja story but for a ring.

Ever since the Eminem situation I haven’t been able to stand MGK. I know he is a creep so watching him get so much fame and praise and becoming a “pop punk” star (and making songs with the biggest stars including a bunch of young women) disgusts me.
So let’s just say I dislike him a lot.
I know people don't want to criticize megan fox but lets be honest here and say that her dating mgk is a red flag. I want her to be a decent person just as much as anyone else but she's clearly really in love with him and as far as I know, finds no faults in his behaviors, which makes me question her own character.
edit: just to clarify, I'm not saying that megan fox is a bad person or that she's like mgk, however I do think its worth questioning how she's approaching his behavior, especially when it comes to such a serious relationship. I obviously don't know the whole story. all I can do is speculate.

loving bad people doesnt make you a bad person. If that was the case then that would mean almost every single victim of domestic violence is a bad person, since DV is usually done by people the victim loves and thats what contributes to the victim staying and feeling guilty about getting help
She doesn't deserve to be treated the same way as him, but she definitely deserves judgement bc she puts her kid in danger with this relationship. It leaves acting on unhealed trauma and becomes a questionable person scebario when you see this all and still bring a child into this

i'm almost 20 and dating someone that's 16 or even younger makes me sick. I was absolutely stupid even at 17 and 18, anyone even younger than that just absolutely isn't mature enough for someone that's older than them not taking advantage of them.
I once fucked a guy that was 29 when i was 17 and even though i really wanted to do it, I now realise how messed up it was. (legal age of consent is 15 where i live) I was absolutely taken advantage of and didn't realise the red flags of him going against my boundaries were bad. Thankfully it didn't traumatise me, but it's just pretty fucked up that that even happened.

I think there is a very real issue in your ending monologue, since I wasn't someone who was into celebrity gossip until it snuck up on me, from simple articles exploring why my favorite artist is "problematic" and deserves to "be cancelled" and I was filled with rage because those articles were addressing very few minor issues (not being political, or making a misogynistic remark when they was younger and were themselves a woman, so it was most likely taught) and I rushed to defend them. After a few years though, I realized how futile it is, people are going to find flaws and sometimes they are valid and sometimes they are not. But what stake do I have when strangers gossip about strangers? They are rich and influential, very prone to mistakes and entirely human. Some of them should face repercussions of their actions by law sure but again serious stuff is watered down with pointless nitpicks that it's impossible to know who is right and who is wrong.

Lol the beginning of this was giving me such amazing Welcome To Night Vale vibes. It's a great podcast if you aren't familiar. It's been on for years now and it's best to start at the first episode because characters are introduced and it kinda tells multiple side stories (so each episode will make far more sense and be more impactful if you listen to them chronologically).
