im Native American and i have the up most respect and love for The Irish! we share the fighting spirit! #Respect love the cover
Thank you for your comment Ian and welcome to my channel. Greetings :)
Ian Stump , USA has to give indepence to Hawai, like UK to N Ireland
To be fair, it's not that we aren't giving independence to Northern Ireland. They're still in the Union because they wanted to be. One day a united Ireland may happen and as an Englishman i'd be happy to see that day.
BaD LucC dream on
Beo fada an spiorad Meiriceanach Eireannach agus duchais. Long live the Irish and Native American spirit.
"Oh had they died by Pearce's side or fought with Cathal Brugha. Their names we would keep, where the fenians sleep, neath the shroud of the foggy dew". As an Irishman I try my best to stay neutral regarding our "colourful" history with Britain but that verse brings the Republican side of me right to the top... Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song.
GerryBolger Thank you Gerry. It's a very beautiful song... really a very beautiful song. :)
I would say that I am on the "other side" of that story, but this song is among the best ever made.
@@TheGamgubben uuuggghhhh......what in the good Lord's name are you doing here then? Just to spread your treachery?
It’s strange that the yoke of tyranny that once visited Ireland, now should be visiting the Social Republic of America
Don’t make peace with the English my fellow brother. For they may split us from our land again.
Słucham non-stop tego przepięknego wykonania tej cudownej pieśni o Wolności i Poświęceniu. Zawsze bądźmy po stronie Pearse'go!
I listen non-stop to this beautiful performance of this wonderful song about Freedom and Sacrifice. Let's always be on Pearse's side!
Ireland, a country that depicts both Grace and the will to fight. happy to have irish ancestors. Dear Helena you touched my very Soul and though my ancestors have left ireland a long time ago and crossed the ocean to the United States in hope for a better Life. Your way of singing this Song makes me remeber from where my family had come from and somwhatwakes a longing inside . Thank you so very much Helena great work.
As a Brit with Scottish/ Irish ancestors, I have loved all things Spanish, for many years, but to hear this beautiful woman singing is the best. The Irish Nation have a great affinity with Spain.
Thank you so much 😊... you have a beautiful country too. Uk is a very beautiful country. Scotland and Ireland are the most beautiful places in the world for me. Beautiful music and people,❤️
blah blah blah blah blah blah if you read the comment you will understand why I say Uk. I know Ireland and uk are two different countries 😌 but thank you for the comment so much 🤗
blah blah blah blah blah blah and i fell in love with Ireland twice... the first time in other life, and the second time when I got to see it in this life 💚you have a beautiful country. Nice you can talk in Spanish so... cuídate mucho y un abrazo desde los Pirineos

Beautiful woman singing with serious pipes and skill. Soulful and deeply moving. Just hauntingly beautiful.
Mark Pointer thank you so much ❤️🤗🤗
@@HelenaCinto You are very welcome. At 3:28 goosebumps crawled up my arms. The ghosts in the lyrics were set free to roam. That is a wonderful gift and talent.
Mark Pointer 💚💚💚
What a beautiful emotional rendition of this ancient Irish rebel song, as a man from Royal Meath this song stirs my Celtic Irish emotions, I'm living in Italy for the last 2 years now and I miss old Ireland so much that I am thinking of returning very soon..
I cant stop loving rhis music.. She have the voice of a goddes
My family history is Scottish, Viking but damn there is nothing but respect. For the Irish, same warrior tradition, different places of birth but damn the same warrior tradition. Much respect!!
Gaelic kin 🇮🇪💖🏴
Love this music i am argentino and Both peoples fought against the invader. I'm inspired by Irish history. What has in common with Argentina the fight against the invaders. a hug
I love hearing great singers do a great rendition of a foreign song. What an inspiration.

Helena,,This is beautiful I just love your voice, Thank you.
This was brilliantly performed
great job !!!
Have to say.. this is my favorite version.. breath taking...
Bravo!
Wonderfully done! There is another verse to this song (would be the 3rd if included) that virtually no one sings, for whatever reason:
"Oh the night fell black, and the rifles' crack made perfidious Albion reel
In the leaden rain, seven tongues of flame did shine o'er the lines of steel
By each shining blade a prayer was said, that to Ireland her sons be true
But when morning broke, still the war flag shook out its folds in the foggy dew"
thank you... this song was always in my head since the first time i listened. I was so young and I didnt know the history of Ireland. After years I discover Ireland and the song go deep in my heart. So thank you for the last verse...greetings from Spain :)
Beautiful.....
Great song, great voice! I've always loved Ireland, maybe because I come from Brittany, and we share celtic culture and music!^^ Love from France!

As down the glen one Easter morn to a city fair rode I
There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by
No fife did hum nor battle drum did sound it's dread tattoo
But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell rang out through the foggy dew
Right proudly high over Dublin Town they hung out the flag of war
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky than at Sulva or Sud El Bar
And from the plains of Royal Meath strong men came hurrying through
While Britannia's Huns, with their long range guns sailed in through the foggy dew
'Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go that small nations might be free
But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves or the shore of the Great North Sea
Oh, had they died by Pearse's side or fought with Cathal Brugha
Their names we will keep where the fenians sleep 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew
But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Eastertide in the springing of the year
And the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those fearless men, but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light might shine through the foggy dew
Ah, back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more
But to and fro in my dreams I go and I'd kneel and pray for you,
For slavery fled, O glorious dead, When you fell in the foggy dew.
Many thanks :)
Thanks fren :)

This is my favorite version of this patriotic song, second only to the raw power in the cover by Sinead O’Connor. Her accent and voice are beautiful. Gets the blood boiling on my Irish side.

Hola. Muchas gracias.
Here are the words to "A Stor Mo Chroi - Treasure of My Heart"
A stor mo chroi when you're far away
From the home you will soon be leaving
It's many a time by night and by day
When your heart it will be sorely grieving
For the stranger's land may be bright and fair
& Rich in it's treasures golden
But you'll pine I know for days long long ago
And the one that is never holden
A stor mo chroi in te stranger's land
Their is plenty of wealth and wailing
Where gems adorn the great and grand
Where the faces with hunger paling
When the road it is weary and hard to tread
And the lights of the cities may blind you
Won't you turn a stor to Erin's bright shore
And the love that you leave behind you
A stor mo chroi when the evening mist
Over mountain and sea is falling
O turn a stor & then you'll list
And maybe you will hear me calling
For the sound of a voice you will surely miss
Somebody speedily returning
A run, a run won't you come back soon
To the one that will always love you
its a beautiful song I wish the Tossers would record it
if you know the song already its nice to reflect on the words
if not google it. Be Well
