- In this video we will be talking about everyone's favorite bus bot Transit! You see originally, Transformers Rise of The Beasts would have opened up with an amazing fight scene between Optimus Prime and Transit, however the scene was cut and replaced with a new opening that featured the Maximals. In this video I break down why Transit was cut and if his removal was a good call.

Test screening leaks also mentioned Transit taunting Prime with a hologram of Autobot prisoners being executed while claiming in vain that Prime would save them. That may have also contributed to the “too dark” complaints from the screening, so I can understand that being cut. Still, I do wish they at least finished the fight scene we actually got, maybe including it right after the Maximal planet destruction scene and before we meet Noah. It really would’ve given viewers a better understanding of Prime’s broken demeanour in the rest of the film and why he so badly just wants to get his team back off Earth.
Was the test screening complete footage? Or just some animatics in place of some scenes? Since I'd love to see the horrors of the deceptions more since the bayverse didn't make them as tyrannical as they were told to be.
And also the scene could be added back to show that the decepticons are looking for the autobots, not like attacking earth with an army but at least searching and it could be played off as the deceptions searching hundreds of planets on by one

Most likely the unfinished scenes. To be fair though, weren’t there still some really dark moments with the Bay Decepticons too? Y’know, like them ravaging Chicago or the execution where they killed Que and nearly killed Bee?

Which helps to explain why Transit knew there were Autobots on Earth, besides Optimus Primes call out to the hiding Autobots.
The bumblebee explanation actually makes a lot of sense, since now that the Transit scene is cut, we can possibly see homie again someday

I'm so glad you mentioned the ending of Bumblebee. It shows why the Decepticons aren't here yet. Now, after the energon on Earth becomes more active during the final fight, we might see the Decepticons come in(once Hollywood stops beating around their money bush and pays their workers properly.)
We need to see a Megatron soon. I was hoping in the end credits we could see a glimpse of Megatron but we didn't.

Even though Transit was cut from ROTB, he is popular among fans and hope Hasbro makes a Studio Series figure for Transit. Leader class scale due to his size compare to Optimus in both robot and vehicle modes, and with the bus lot as a display backdrop.
I honestly think the Transit scene could have fit in the movie, but in a different way. The movie stays the same, right up to Optimus Prime in the bus lot, seeing Transwarp Key beacon in the sky. After calling the Autobots, a pair of bus headlight shines behind him. Optimus Prime turns around and sees a bus charges at him. Optimus shove the bus back, and it transforms into Transit. Also revealing the Terrorcon symbol on his forehead. He says "Hello Optimus", and shoots his arm blaster at Optimus. Optimus then shoves a bus at Transit, but he jumps over it, still shooting at Optimus. They then start fighting like in the deleted scene, till the point where Optimus shove Transit head into a bus, as the dialogue has changed. Optimus Prime would say "How did you find us Decepticon, how many are you are here". Transit says back "I'm no Decepticon, I'm much worst". Then Optimus drags Transits head through the bus and throws him to the ground. Transit would then pull out his battle hammer from his character photo. But it would be handheld instead of could out of his hand. He uses that instead of the light pole and hits Optimus several times with it. Than shove the back pole end of the battle hammer into Optimus's chest, pinning him into the already crashed bus. Optimus would use his energon sword to slice off Transit arm, which causes Transit to fall back, onto the crashed bus. Then Optimus would jump up and strikes his energon sword down into Transit's chest. Optimus would then notice the Terrorcon symbol on Transit forehead, and ask "Who are you, who are you working for?". Transit would reply "You're too late, I contracted them as you were called your Autobots". Hinting at Scourge and the Terrorcons. He would then use his arm blaster on Optimus Prime, but Optimus would use it on Transit himself, causing the Terrorcon to crash through some buses. In his dying words, Transit would tell Optimus "They are already on their way. Once they have the key, it will be the end of all worlds. Including your homeworld Cybertron". Then Optimus shoots him, killing Transit. That's when the Transwarp Key beacon turns off. Optimus notices and looks up at the sky, seeing that the light of the beacon in the sky fading away. He calls for the Autobots if any of them had pinpointed its location. That where we see Arcee in motorcycle mode with the hologram rider saying that she did and she's on her way to the hideout. Through the comms, Optimus says to hurry as he will be on his way.
-A few other changes would happen, Optimus would be more in a hurry to get the Transwarp Key and tell the Autobots that they are not the only one after it, telling them of his run-in with Transit. Mirage would ask what happened to him. In which Optimus was that he dump him in the Hudson river. Scourge, Nightbird and Battletrap would arrive the same way, they would first go to Transits underwater grave and get the coordinates to the Transwarp key from his memory bank. Then surface above the water and the rest of the movie continues as it is.
-This would add a, time is of the essence, as the stakes are higher for Optimus and the Autobots to get the Transwarp Key first. As for why make Transit a Terrorcon instead of Decepticon, his promotion character poster with his battle hammer, that was revealed along with Stratosphere and Freezers character render, show him with the Terrorcon symbol allegiance. And as for why he is on Earth, Unicron did order Scourge to find the Transwarp key, so he send his Terrorcons throughout the galaxy to widen the search for it. And Transit just happened to land on Earth, happened to take on the alt mode of a bus, and happened to be in New York when the movie takes place. Which would further explain how the Terrorcons know to come to Earth.
My biggest problem with his removal, is that it’s now even less likely that we will get a figure of him. I see why his inclusion is good or bad either way but without his appearance in the film itself, probably no figure.
DoTM Thundercracker says hi but at the same time Transit would likely not be made a figure by Hasbro or Takara. Pray for a third party company to make a figure of the character.

I think that the scene should've been played in between Noah's attempt at stealing the Porsche and Elena investigating the Transwarp key, and have both the freightliner and the bus established earlier on as seemingly regular vehicles.
I just hope that Transit will get a figure so that he will not be forgotten

The only two that haven’t been announced are a studio series transit or Wheeljack. They’re the only two currently missing from the Studio Series ROTB line.

@@coltraneserafin6768 if they did Stratosphere, they should make him a commander class. That way he’s big enough in scale. But since he might be way too complicated to transform at that size, I can see him being a higher end leader.

I still would have used the transit scene. But it would be roped into the mashup before the transwarp key’s activation and interrupted by it.
Also, I don’t think it does undermine that. I mean, if you sent two scouts to a planet and they haven’t reported back, that’s suspicious. So, they sent more scouts and Prime’s been hunting them down.
I would've done it like that, where the movie changes between Noah breaking into Mirage, Elena examining the artifact with the Transwarp Key inside, and Optimus fighting Transit. I would do it like this to show what Optimus is up to before the plot really kicks off, and to also further convey Optimus's personal conflict.
That, and Optimus further emphasizes that the Autobots have been on Earth since the events of Bumblebee, which helps to solidify the fact that this is a sequel to said Bumblebee movie, and that this is a rebooted tineline.
Are you suggesting like what they did in robots in disguise where like two battles are going on at the same time bumblebee and somebody else and then Optimus in The Well of all Sparks doing his training? That actually could work as well.

Many people crap on bay’s decepticon designs, but tbh I really like how insectoid and spiky they look, especially transit here since he looks like a giant imposing ant.
it definitely would make sense for the decepticons to start scouting Earth, an area where at least three of their soldiers disappeared (assuming they were sending reports back)

When Optimus was entering the bussyard riding towards the beam from the transwarp key, transit hit prime in his car mode beacause he was a spy for scourge and then the transit scene could have been fitting in my opinion
Question is, did the fight canonically happen, even if we don't get to see it? I love Transit's design and he'd make for a killer toy, so I hope he appears in a later movie.

I like the scene but not as the opening,it would of been a good scene after the maximal scene since it was a tradition of bayformers after the first one to have the movie start with an event from the past and then a cut to the present with Optimus narrating( main exception was AOE since there was no narration from Optimus or another character).
I think it also ties back to Bumblebee with the Decepticons not knowing the Autobots are on Earth. If you remember, Shatter never got the signal out to Cybertron.

Maybe his scene will be in another Transformers film, but if the Transit scene was kept in the film it could’ve been the scene in the bus yard, just have it happen before Elena accidentally activates the Transwarp Key

His visual design (In transformer form. Alt is just a bus) is too cool to be killed in the intro scene in my opinion. I hope if they return Transit in the next movie(s), he will get more screen time and kinda bigger role. Maybe he’s the one that makes some type of distress signal to Megatron and than that’s how the decepticons find the autobots and than we also see some new autobots too
I have an argument to make with the deleted scene: It shows the reason Optimus is the way he is in the movie. In the movie, Mirage explains that Optimus had quite an attitude because he’s been there for 7 years, and he felt like should be blamed and all that, and while it is a good statement and reason, it doesn’t really show the context behind that reason. Leaving us with the why and how questions. Like “How is being stuck in 7 years frustrate Optimus?” Stuff like that. But with the deleted scene, it would’ve solved that issue. It would’ve told us that the reason Optimus is getting sick for getting stuck for 7 years, and having quite the attitude is because with each passing day, it could possibly mean an Autobot life would be lost.
Wdym? It seemed perfectly reasonable as to why Optimus is mad he was stuck for 7 years. While they were busy being stranded on earth, the Decepticons are taking over Cybertron

Honestly, I think the scene would have added better context as to why Prime was so xenophobic (the monologue in the beginning).

I feel like the returning to Cybertron plot idea should have been saved for the third movie, then we possibly would have gotten the Optimus Prime vs Transit fight scene that we all wanted to see on the big screens.
In terms of it raising the question on why the Decepticons aren't sending an army but just a few guys one at a time, I could see it as they know the general "direction" of Prime's location but not the exact planet as Space is pretty big. Plus the movie also says that the war is still being fought back home and probably on other worlds as stated in BB, so it might just be they wouldn't have the resources to spare. But yeah I agree that cutting this opening and replacing it with the Maximals was the better call.
I would have kept both scenes: keep the Maximal opening and then transition to Prime V Transit, and then Noah.

Part of me wishes that we could have just gotten both, opening with the Maximal scene first and then transit. Kind of like how at the end there was 2 monologues, prime and Noah the movie could start with Primal and Prime. As to how the decepticons found the autobots on earth? It could have been similar to how the terrorcons found them too. Idk. Just, justice for transit 😂😭
Adding transit to the next movie would make more sense. By now I'm sure Unicron's resurgence and interest on Earth has likely caught the eyes of the Decepticons on not only why he went to Earth but more importantly how he was pushed back.

I don't know if the inclusion of the Transit scene would've undermined the ending of Bumblebee. Yes, Blizwing, Shatter and Dropkick were all killed, but remember, after Bumblebee landed on Earth, Blitzwing attacked him like five minutes later. Whether that means he was already on Earth (which is unlikely) or if he was just tailing Bee through space, (who's to say) I believe the absence of all three of them would've alerted the Decepticons in some way to their demise. But hey who's to say.

I think not bringing the decepticons in the movie made it more consistent in terms of story. It also helped to preserve continuity from Bumblebee movie as by the end of the movie, Shatter and Dropkick were unable to contact Cybertron and bring the decepticons to Earth. Transit appearing in the movie would have conflicted with the ending of the Bumblebee movie.
Oh though that I'm sad that he's gone, I completely agree with you. Let's just hope that Tansit is in the next TF movie.

If you think about it theoretically Transit could still be in the movie Optimus could've been going to the bus yard to fight him but got distracted by the transwarp key and decided to ignore him and Transit just decided not to interfere.

I hope they can reuse parts of this for the next transformers movie. If the next movie has Megatron and the Decepticons as the villains, this would be a perfect intro with some tweaks like a different means of disposing of Transit's body and a different setting.

I feel like this is more Optimus. Because even when he had the chance to just end him and find the ship himself, he still gave Transit a chance. And Transit being this huge dangerous decepticon thats able to drive around very public areas, he was too dangerous. But the part with a lot of decepticons in the hudson river is a little dark so
I’ll just say the battle with Transit and seeing all the dead Decepticons in the river, would have really shown how much of a threat scourge really was to Optimus.
I didn't know who Transit was and I thought he was a new character made from scratch, but it's nice to know that he was already a character in transformers and almost made his way into a live action film, but maybe next time he can show up. Awesome breakdown man! 👍 Yeah, I really liked the scene too but I completely agree, it just didn’t make any sense including it. The Maximal planet opening sets the story up so much better since it tells us all the important backstory bits right there. And I’m not sure where that fight would’ve worked since the story gets going pretty quickly and including a random fight while they’re setting up more of the Transwarp key in the first act wouldn’t have worked.
And like you mentioned, it defeats the purpose of BBM cause the Cons shouldn’t even suspect that Prime retreated to Earth. The cool thing is that now, since a massive space bridge opened up over Earth and Unicron peaked out, I can see them logically explaining that the Cons detected that weird behavior/potential signal and went to investigate, setting up their presence in the sequel and their realization that the Bots are on Earth.

You could think of it that Prime had dumped Transit's body in the hudson and Transit being the only decepticon there after Bumblebee and before Rise Of The Beasts

In my school vr game, Transit is in the game, in the mission called shutdown where you play as Transit who ally is the Decepticon bio powerhouse Goalius escorting a bunch of Diacolonite orphans to Paris France for safety the mission main boss is a creature known as the Curious Cat and what happened was nuts after the transport of the Diacolonit orphans went off road Transit went missing but in the latest mission called chaos he was comfirm dead killed by the Curious Cat

Removing Transit was definitely a good thing since the rest of the Deceptions DON'T know that Prime is on earth. This also gives the Maximals more development which was WAY better than a Decepticon fight an Autobot💯👍👍

The bayverse showed the genocide of chicago and some pretty visual deaths... darkness in a transformers movie is really normal, for primus' sake we saw optimus get stabbed and get his chest blown up when many were about 10 years old, and that fight is remembered as the best

I'm blown away by the amount of people who think Demolisher's death was too much after it tossed and ran over multiple vehicles
he was running away. not to mention that china and other governments, know about the transformers at that point, so it's very likely that demolishor and sideways were under custody/watch of the chinese government.

I still wish there was a similar scene to set up optimus' crave for getting out of earth, in the movie it is only implied for the most part until the scene where noah tries to bust the transwarp key, which doesn't really click with me personally since it feels like the entire optimus-tired-of-earth side plot is made just to give the destruction of the key some substance

I think it’s a bummer that Transit got cut because his design is really cool and I hope they don’t do what they did with Sideways where they make a full cgi model but they barely use it

Transit is my favorite transformers character
Yo uh anyone remember what if I survived? That was a extremely entertaining series for me and I wish more episodes would come out if you do listen to this (please do jolt,sideswipe or soundwave)
the deleted scenes made me understand more why this film let me down. I was freaking hyped about it but when i saw it was the same soup as the others. In a few words: they had years to make this film but still rushed it at the end showing the exact same plot we've seen from all other films except Bumblebee.
-The CGI in the film looks awful because it was clearly rushed and the unfinished deleted scenes confirm that. You can clearly distinct what is CGI and what is not, a thing that in the 2007 movie is still difficult to catch. Plenty of mistakes on the robot forms (like Scourge at the beginning already having an Earth form or the badges on his arms vanishing. Optimus Prime museum fast transformation was BAD, the red cab parts go behind his blue legs vanishing wtf...)
-The plot is just lame and too fast, already seen in all previous 5 movies: there's an artifact "bad guys" want to do bad things with, the "good guys" are in trouble but they manage to win with the help of humans. "bad guys" all die and the world is safe again.
-I still don't get how the most armored and strong Transformers in the saga that Autubots couldn't even touch died like dumb drones at the end. Scourge death was just nosense.
-They killed Airazor wich was the Maximal with most screen time (she didn't even transform) and relevance so people empathized with her also cause she's a people favourite since the original Beast Wars yet they killed her. Apelinq was the most powerfull Maximal warrior and they didn't even make him fight a bit against Scourge even if they obviously need to show Scourge's strenght.
-How can be Transit death so dark when you brutally kill Apelinq at the start, crush Airazor and tear Terrorcons to pieces afterwards? Is this a bad excuse to delete an entire faction Autobots could even ally too to defeat Unicron and Terrorcons?
-Wheeljack is just useless in the film and that just is a worse point for the new design they made for him.
-The new arm cannons make no sense at all especially for Optimus Prime.
I feel they could have still included the deleted scenes and the film would've been far way better. Sorry but for me this film was a missed opportunity. 6,5/10
I think the best way they couldve have Transit and the Maximal opening happen at the same time would be to start with the maximal. Then when Elena opens the beacon, it would cut to the optimus vs transit scene with optimus winning and he looks up to the sky to see the beacon

Now that you explained the reason why the transit scene was removed, I can now see why it was removed. Like what you said, not only does the scene undermine the plot point from bumblebee, it would only raise more questions as to why and how the decepticons even find out that the autobot are on earth, and the fact that they are sending their soldiers one by one. As much as I liked the scene, the filmmakers made a good call on removing it. Cause it would just feel out of place because of the pacing and plot point.
It would be if they reused transit in the sequel. His absence in the movie technically makes his scene not canon so he can still hypothetically appear.

Theorymus, I just realized something. Most of the biomes in Minecraft are in the transformers movies. Ex; Ice Spikes Biome = Finding Megatron-Desert Scorponok and Jetfire’s deaths. Etc.
I think that this scene could've been left in the film. However it wouldn't be the opening scene. They could've kept the opening that is in the final cut and have this battle scene appear where it was left in the final cut where Optimus Prime sees the transwarp beacon. Of course there would be more alterations to the scenes transition but I feel this would've been the best edit to the scenes placement and use. As the final cut opening partly set up Scourges power and threat to the Maximals and later the Autobots while the scene with Transit will do the same to create the power level of Optimus because for new audiences or casual viewers it would be a better set up for the characters power balance and make it more impactful when Bumblebee was first taken out and Prime couldn't do anything. The final cut really makes it feel like the writers were juggling with the characters strength.

I agree with that the scene was weaker than what we got in terms of which makes a better movie. People all ready complain about the maximals screen time and the opener we got helped with that. Also the bumblebee thing you mentioned.

It actually makes a lot of sense that Decepticons are not in the movie. In Bumblebee, Shatter and Dropkick’s message to the other Decepticons didn’t get through, so they don’t know that they are on Earth.

Personally, I would’ve kept the final opening in the film while also still showing the Transit scene and the only change I would’ve made to the Transit scene is having bumblebee help out a bit. Here’s hoping they can bring back Transit in a future film if not the next film.

I feel like this is the right time to add in Big M (A.K.A. Megatron). I can just imagine this idea where: the next movie starts off with cybertron being overrun by decepticons and they have won their war since optimus is no longer on cybertron and the autobot factions are scattered, but then Big M isn't happy about this as he is angry about optimus not being there when the decepticon faction has won their planet. I can clearly see it as Megatron Commands his army to stand guard and don't start being relieved as he doesn't accept this victory and thinks that optimus is still on the move. This part might be connected to the bumblebee movie but remember the tower scene where shatter and (the other bot I forgot) were trying to (signal?) Their leader from earth? I think that's where Megatron would likely hear the news that Optimus has made a plan about taking refuge to earth.
Transit will some day return as a bigger threat to the multiverse. just like the spot

I would have preferred having this scene play immediately after the Maximal opening, then move to the human introductions
