  • I went to Rochdale two weeks before the by-election. I spoke to many lovely people who are fed up with politicians and their empty promises.

    Welcome to my Channel,
My name is James and I live full time in my tiny van, however this is not just a van life channel. I enjoy travel, food and drink and making videos 🙂
When I turned 50 I decided I’d had enough of the rat race and working long hours just to pay rent and bills, life was passing me by and I needed a drastic change.
    FAQ
    Where is Helen?
Helen has a responsible full time job and two children so unfortunately she can’t join me on every trip. I really wish she could.
    What equipment do you use?
My vlogging camera is a GoPro Hero 9 but I also use my pixel 6a phone and Lumix G80 camera for other footage
For editing, I used Premiere Pro on an old laptop but I’m saving to buy a more powerful computer.
    Do you have children?
Yes I have a 6yr old daughter who lives with her mum but I see her quite a lot. I don’t usually put her on the vlogs and if I do, I block out her face for privacy reasons. I also have a grown up son.
How do you fund your lifestyle?
I don’t need as much to live these days since going full time van life but I receive a small percentage of income from the ads that CZcams put on the videos.
    Why the sponsored videos?
I only accept sponsorship from companies I use and trust, this is my fulltime job and my income, it’s how I support my family. (I have Patreon if you prefer videos with no ads).
    How do I contact you?

People have to grow a pair and speak the truth about what has gone on. Things have got as bad as they've got because too many have been cowards & kept their mouths shut for too long.

  • @krystsource8473

Until people wake up and realise that they are the power and not whom they elect things won’t change.❤

Turkish barbers (yeah sure), tattoo parlours, chicken shops, charity shops and pound shops. What the hell has happened to our town centres?

  • @WetLettuce-kc2qm

They won't discuss the grooming gangs (i.e. the child rapist gangs) because we all know they daren't offend the people who are doing it.

I'm a 53 year old Plumber. Been self employed all my life. I worked with my Dad for over 30 years. When I first started work with my Dad he said when he was first at work they were promised the average worker would only work 3 days a week as the country was so well off? Things have changed so much. I feel sorry for kids today as the worlds so confusing. I live near Bath. It was once a thriving city with every shop you could think of. Now its a drivers nightmare full of cafe's bars and hairdressers.

Rochdale has gone the same way as my birthplace Farnworth/Bolton which has been taken over by the religion of peace as a lot of once beautiful NW towns have. Could you please visit Alderley Edge there’s a fantastic circular walk/hike up The Edge for you to go with Helen. Great vlog as usual James 😀👌

We're at a point in history in England where if you happen to say 'can't we try and fix our own problems' then you're accused of all sorts of nonsense. Serving in the British forces in early adulthood taught me important lessons..

  • @dirtydogsanddiesel

They call it Roachdale for a reason. The crime, drug problem, homelessness, and general state of the place is shocking. The segregation of ethnic areas. Im not from Rochdale but we lived there, we moved away in 2018 and was the best thing we did.

  • @derryshore5586

Hey don't appologise for caring about towns and the Country. You speak for so many of the British in this Country. I don't regognise this country anymore. I moved from London, I could not stand it anymore. I was born in Cheshire, but lived in london since I were 3 years old. 55 years later. I moved to Bridlington and love it here. I know that u love Brid also. Some locals will moan about Brid. I tell them that they do not know how lucky they are. Beautiful skies, gorgeous coastline and countryside. Anyways love your video's and with Helen. Love how u take us places, good or bad,and telling us the history... keep doing what u are doing. X

Another brilliant unbiased review of one of our Northern towns. Unfortunately your comments were spot on 👍

  • @becwirdnam4956

Three minutes in and you've summed up how I and I'm sure many others feel about UK politics and politicians.

  • @allanjolly5934

This is like all the towns in Lancashire..its a real shame ,homeless people are forgotten and the illegal boat men are given everything

  • @michaelmarsh-bl9mg

That statement could apply to dozens of towns in the UK James.

  • @syedvaz6109

The old “it’s too complicated” for me to understand line lol.

  • @grahamhall2105

I'm glad you visited Rochdale James. My wife is Rochdalian born and bred and I lived there for 40 years. It used to be a brilliant place. It has always had it's characters, and as you say, the people were great. We left there ten years ago and when we go back to visit friends and family, we can't wait to get out again. The people definitely deserve better that's for sure.

  • @he-man5102

You're doing the right thing by not getting involved in politics with your channel. We're so divided now and people don't seem to be able to take any form of criticism. Like many towns and cities in the UK, Rochdale is in trouble and as you've mentioned, politicians only care about other countries and not the people of Rochdale. I'll leave it there. I don't want to upset the woke taliban.

  • @christoguichard4311

This is turning into a REALLY GOOD reportage channel James.

  • @fingerprickinggood

James I have to applaud you for dragging yourself out to these places when most of us would stay indoors. Shame about Rochdale, it looks so depressing.

  • @peterwhitaker4038

i feel sorry for most people in Rochdale who are tarnished with the same brush.i once went to the town hall buildings from Liverpool to see boxing matches they held there. i have never seen such a magnificent building in a non-city town, it took my breath away even inside was so gothic and grand. it was built before anyone from abroad thought of coming to Rochdale and it will be there when they have all gone.

  • @P4276470

Agree with your opinions. I emigrated to Canada in 1974 and can’t believe how the UK has deteriorated since then.
