58:03 I don't think Throp can speak to the issues of beach access in Jamaica. You cannot access any beach in Ocho Rios area without paying. Also Puerto Seco in Discovery Bay.The beaches in St Mary and now beaches in Portland. This is no BS as he was alluding to We have no public access, because the persons who own properties along the beach restrict public access, or others you have to pay. Unlike the Eastern Caribbean (Barbados, St Lucia, Dominican etc, where you access any beach you want to"
@basilbyfield5913 Jamaica has hundreds of beaches, so you are straight up lying. It is a political talking point. You cannot compare Barbados and St. Lucia to Jamaica because Jamaica is bigger than the two countries combined. Get your facts straight and stop spreading rumors about the beaches in Jamaica.
@@mdl9096 Do you even understand what you are responding to? I grew up going to those beaches where the cruise ships dock in Ocho Rios, you can't access those beaches anymore, they are sold. The beaches in Oracabessa, where Beaches is (old Playboy hotel) you probably wouldn't know that. Do you know Prospect in St Mary. Tower Isle and Boscobel, all those beach front are privately own. Why is Jamaica not comparable to the Eastern Caribbean, they have less beaches and freer access, that means Jamaica should have more and freer access. How is that a lie?` I can provide you with more information if you are not informed. I am speaking to what I know. Growing up as a child I use to be able to access those beaches for free, but not now.
I will send you the contact information for a Jamaican Maroon who is a youtuber. You can interview her and she can also connect you to the Maroons in St Elizabeth. She may be able to introduce you to the chief of the Accompong Maroons.
Love this❤ Throp 👍🏾Big up Youself Sir Throp❤️🇯🇲
As Jamaicans we need to wake up and realize what a gift we have in Jamaica.
Some people never will.
Jamaica is actually one of the easiest place to do anyting if yuh wah guh live Inna di bush and turn Madd man u can if u want to run a business pan di side and pay no taxes u can. Can't do none a dat shit in uncle sam place 😂😂😂 I plan to move back next year start a business to contribute to my countries economy
So me being jamaican i av always know that jamaica is a developing country eny thing u put ur money into u will make it back in jamaica i never think nothing negative about my born land jamaica av never show up in negril av come as near as savana la mar and walk on great georges street eny great content to u 2 folks av follow trop podcast all de time
I bought a house in Jamaica and I have no regrets, the best move I've ever made.. can't wait to go home fully 💚💚🇯🇲🇯🇲

His father is a legend in nyc I used to use his taxi service
Me too. Getting home from work in the city at nights...taking the train to utica ave. Taking his cab home
@@duss2duss I took it coming home from church on a Sunday night

I too use to take his dad taxi in Brooklyn to go shopping at Kings Plaza back in the days. I now live in Hudson Valley Regions of New York. Always admire the Thorp's family the way they build generation wealth. Praying they will continue what there dad started. Respect and 🙏
His dad made some strategic financial decisions and investments and in so doing created generational wealth. That one of the most important lessons we should take away from this interview.
His father definitely was a man with the foresight to plan ahead,, he was also lucky to have children who later shared his vision.
Tigress you have just completed a master piece of interviewed just keep doing your things in a positive way.
This young man is a wealth of information. Crime is targeted. Jamaica is safer than a lot of other Caribbean and Latin American countries
I love, love my little island and my people.
Jamaica takes the stress away when I'm home.
His dad was always ambitious from the begining 😮
Thank you so much African Tigress for meeting our Jamaican brother Throp; I like the contents of your videos, they are clean and family friendly up to this point. Just remain the classy lady you are that we Jamaicans are falling in love with.
Well done African tigress! Throp is a lovely down to earth guy. As a jamaican abroad I'm very proud. I've always called jamaica home away from home. I love my country like food. Will be home
Yess “Gypsy” cabs were a must for “US” as Black ppl in NY and still is 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Sir Throp Sr
Throp it is good to know that your father is okay, you keep doing your thing in beautiful Negril, and spread your wings in other parts of Jamaica 🇯🇲, you have Jamaican roots you deserve your piece of the beautiful rock we called Jamaica 🇯🇲 .
Great interview. As a Jamaican living in Africa, I see a bridge being built to connect the Caribbean and continent. Thanks for this.
We as Jamaicans living abroad, especially in the US and Europe, have a sense that we may be treated in a negative manner from stories of the past. Jamaicans who share bad experiences about Jamaica is doing a disservice. Which that includes myself.
I’m in Tanzania currently, African people ask about Jamaica and why I like their country, we often refer to the crime situation. As he mentioned , crimes are in pockets everywhere, not to judge the entire island as crime infested.
I have great thoughts of returning to my family in Jamaica, feel a need to add to its economy by building well maintained and affordable residence for our people.
I will never understand why people keep using the crime excuse for leaving Jamaica. If someone asks why you left, just say you needed a change. I don’t hear anyone else tearing down their own country when they leave like Jamaicans do. They seem to feel the urge to justify their decision by offering up the worse thing about the country they could think of. I guess is the dark side of Jamaican culture, this desire to tear down the country and boost up others.

@@feonasmith9226 I agree with you 💯.
Great idea. Keep us informed.
As a black person, I used to stay at 5 stars resorts owned by ......I'll now try to research black own resorts and restaurants to stay at before I fly out. I'll definitively visit this location within 8 months..
I am very surprised you didn't know about black owned hotels, they are usually smaller but very nice.
You are interviewing a great one my Sister. Throp is the man of wisdom.
Exactly. A.T is one of my favorite content creator.
Great interview!! Jamaica has created such huge impact on the world stage even beyond our music, food and producing the fastest runners in the world. Chocolate milk was originated in Jamaica,James Bond movie filmed in Jamaica, the most popular song from the movie “The Sound of music” was inspired by Jamaica , the first tropical country to enter a winter/snow sport and so much more.
I had to look up how Jamaica influenced the sound of music.
I learned something.
The writer wrote it when he was in Jamaica. Who knew?
African Tigress great interview with Throp. I have watched his investment programs, but to you, he really opened up. So we got to know a bit more about him. On the South Coast in St. Elizabeth there is a place called 'Jake's' back in the day it was voted the best 'small hotel' in the world. When you first get there you think it must be a joke. However after spending some time there it's like you just got fitted with a new pair of glasses and now you see what the world really looks like. You see what the wealthy see, the simple elegance, that's 'Jake's'....
And to boot, Jake's is in the said Treasure Beach that Throp mentioned.
--Æ.
I think the place is run by Jason Henzel, son of the guy who made the film "The Harder They Come" with Jimmy Cliff. Now they might take one year to build 1 room but they engineer it to look 'old'. So 5 star everything but from the outside it kinda looks like a shack. This is either magic or genius. At the end of a week stay you feel like a new born baby. Energy levels are off the charts. Tears fall out of a grown man's eyes when he knows it's time to leave. Yeah..
Jamaica is absolutely beautiful!!
Throp is a great guy. Been a subscriber to his channel since 2018. I promised myself to make it to his investors forum this year.
amazing great interview it clears the big stigma of Jamaica being so overrun by violence
If Jamaica was over run by crime and violence, why would so many cruise liners be docking at the various ports on a daily basis. Jamaica have cruise liners full to overflowing with tourists docking at Falmouth, Kingston and Ocho Rios daily. Jamaica is also preparing to service cruise Liners at its deep sea port, the only one in the Caribbean. Jamaica is on an upward spiral for the betterrrrr. Isn't that good, so the nay sayers needs to close their mouths, or try to say something good.
Good interview i put you on a high pedestral.i really appreciate how you go about with your contents .best foreign yutuber in jamaica now.
Thank you so much Toni I truly appreciate ❤️
There are other good foreign CZcamsr also putting out good contents, no disrespect to African Tigress.
Greetings African Tigress! Whoever recommended for you to interview Mr. Winthrop was spot on. This interview was extremely informative. Excellent Post!
Chiming in from Newfoundland. For many years we had trade with Ja - saltfish, rum, etc. Newfoundland is a lot like Ja - folks in small villages around the coast drop the H in words starting with H and add an H if a word starts with a vowel. We're funny, just like folks there. We love rum and life is laid back here, too.
Great advertising for Jamaica 🇯🇲 🇯🇲
Wow Tigress, I've been following Throp but I had no idea his Dad used to own Winthrop Car Service!!! I used to live on Winthrop St in Brookyn and very familiar with that car service!
He has a brother named Wingate? Lawd I went to Wingate HS!
Awesome Interview AT. Love your channel. Very informative. Enjoy your time in Jamaica 🇯🇲
Hi. I am appreciating this interview. Just wanted to add that we had to pay to go to Long Bay Beach and then pay for the lounges. We went down pass the area for the beach to where the hotel was. We were told that we could not be in that area of the hotel. Not on the beach/sand or even in the water.
I moved to Jamaica about two years ago from New York and the beach issue is a problem.
I’m loving Jamaica though. Loved the decision to move here. Jamaican by birth, grew up in New York.
African Tigress proud of you with your interview with Throp. I have been following him for a long time on his channel. A very smart guy ❤
Thanks for sharing this amazing video I have just subscribed to to his channel you are doing great video showing the best part of Jamaica African Tigress keep it up
Black Pearl in the House! Brooklyn NY!
We stayed at Travelers July 2023 for our school reunion. Reasonably priced, love that it's a small resort, quiet, clean, friendly service - I would definitely revisit.
Love this interview throp is a fantastic guy big up!!

Awesome! Love the collaboration
Kingdom greetings my sis just watch you on Colaz TV 📺 eating breakfast for the first time ⏲️ ❤❤❤ live your video. God bless ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 🤗 you are welcome here
Thanks for the video. As a Jamaican myself living in Atlanta, GA I do appreciate Thorp and all he's doing to uplift Jamaica. Definitely plan to stay at Travelers next time I'm in Negril ✨❤️
Same here
I absolutely love Throp♥️♥️♥️🇯🇲
Cool dude
Throp is the real big man. His channel is really informative. I used to use that car service when making night moves when I lived in Brooklyn
I will agree with Throp with regards to access to beaches in Negril, however, it's much more restricted in other places such as Montego Bay and Ochie. But even some properties in Negril selectively violate the public beach access ordinance.
The beaches in the southern coast are also free! The thing is some of the coastline doesn’t necessarily have a beach and some of them were created by the developers. We still need to have more access to the ones in Mobay and Ochie
@@oneilchambers1938 I hope that nonsense doesnt spread to the eastern part of the country because i know St Thomas and Portland people dont play when it comes to those things, especially St Thomas. They would have to move those resorts.
Am a breadfruit lover ❤❤❤❤miss my breadfruit am Jamaican live in bronx New York city ❤❤❤❤❤

Great video!! I had the privilege staying at Travellers and briefly met Throp last year. I love learning about this Black-owned hotel on world-class Negril Beach. Definitely returning with great interest! 🥰
Wow...this is an amazing video!!!
This guy is amazing. What a wonderful story.
African Tigress is terrific!
Well done guys.
I really enjoyed the interview tigress. If ONLY Jamaicans abroad would appreciate the county more and invest. Unfortunately the stigma of crime is paralysing.
From Brooklyn NY. Your father and mother must be proud parents. God bless.
African Tigress I hope you are enjoying Jamaica♥️♥️♥️🇯🇲
I love it
Great conversation AT. Keep having clean, positive experiences in JA and avoid all negativity!! One Love!
Great interview, African Tigress! This is one of your best videos in Jamaica. It's refreshing to see you speak to someone well-informed in the hospitality business like Throp from Traveller’s Beach Resort Hotel on the seven-mile beach in Negril. Unlike some CZcams content, your interview avoids sensationalism and misinformation. Kudos, Lynn! Job well done.
Go watch his interview with Jamaica with Irie.
Lynn, Congrats on your collaboration with Throp. It was a very informative interview. Would love to see you do a collaboration with @JamaicanFoodBoss.
Nice video! Great job with the interview, AT. Throp has an interesting life story.
No one is as passionate about our beautiful Island as we JAMAICANS NO MATTER WEH WE DEH, IN THE WORLD, Throp mentioned Treasure Beach , in St Bess , you also have beautiful places in PORTLAND ,INFACT as i told you AFRICAN DIGRESS SO MANY HIDDEN GEMS ALL OVER THE ISLAND, ENJOY YOUR STAY😊1❤❤

Very interesting and informative chat. I give you lots of props on this one, good job. Keep up the good work. Bless up.
Very honest, interesting, important and informative interview. Thanks Throp
This interview is amazing! It's like a breath of fresh air. This young man has so much to offer to Jamaica and beyond. He is intelligent and well informed in his area of business. He tells his story with such enthusiasm and passion. African Tigress, it's like this young man was waiting for someone to ask him those questions. It's not often you find people who can express themselves with such eloquence. He would be a good teacher.. I hope he starts a business school for entrepreneurs in Jamaica... or give occasional lectures to young people. He almost changed my mindset about living in Jamaica... I am sure his father is proud of handing over the business to him and his brothers... I learned so much!!! Great interview! It's beautiful ❤️!
Kudos to Mr Wellington his Sons and Travellers Hotel i use to stay there when i travel to Negril , i haven't been there for a while.
Thorpe, you are correct, there are beaches in Jamaica where citizens have access, I don’t know where people get this nonsense from. Jamaica, Jamaica oh boy😊 once I mentioned I’m Jamaican in any parts of the world, I get the best treatment, wish most Jamaicans in Jamaica knows how we are blessed to born or connected to the beautiful island we called home.
All beaches in Jamaica should allow access, Jamaica belongs to Jamaicans. People are raising concerns before it spread because tourism is expected to spread to more parts of Jamaica.
@@l360bYou're absolutely right! I believe in Barbados, all their beaches are public and everyone has unimpeded access to them. This is ridiculous!
Wow, African Tigress. This was an amazing interview. Seeing TBR from bushes to present is simply awesome. I raised my children there vacation wise, now I live to here my Grandchildren refer to it as " MY HAPPY PLACE " and "HOME AWAY FROM HOME" great energy, super safe. Throp, Wingate and Winfield I'm extremely proud of you. Great information. African Tigress, ever so elegant and professional. Enjoy your time in Jamaica 🇯🇲
Hi AT I am a regular viewer of your Channel. Great Interview with Throp. He's Awesome and a great Property Owner. Your Videos are so informative. I've been watching the ones in Europe, Africa such as ones you did in Nairobi, and Ethiopia. Just such great Content. Every evening I can't wait to watch, I don't even watch regular TV anymore LoL😅😅. Keep the great work coming you would make a great Television Reporter. May God continues to Keep you safe in your Travels.❤❤🎉 B Yard.🇯🇲
I was fortunate to visit Travelers in Negril on two separate trips from the US and we loved it!! ❤❤❤
very good interview
Amazing blog very informative!!!!
As spoke about how he thought he understood our culture there is a colloquial expression that comes to mind , it goes like this "see mi a one and come live wid mi a two different things." Nothing beats having a firsthand experience of a particular place, people, culture etc. ha ha
My grandma #Florence was a fishmonger, she used to ride her donkey from #GrangeHill to #Negril to buy fish. At that time, there were only dirt roads. Negril was a bushy area. If only my Granny #Florence aka #AuntyRobinson was alive to see #Negril now!
I would like to meet you one day African Tigress 😊 so organic! Stay real 🎉
This live is awesome🔥🔥🔥
I love listening to Throp, always optimistic tampered with realism. Thanks for a great interview.
Such a beautiful hotel, didn't knew it was so lovely 💚🇯🇲🇯🇲

Great interview sis,great success story,beautiful place🫂🌹
An insightful interview. Thanks for sharing.
I love your interviews very informative.keep up the good work sister.
Great interview!!!
Very good interview! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Good job! I was glad Throp mentioned the misinformation that is out there about Jamaica. I feel like we are under attack on social media for some reason. The worse part is that Jamaicans don’t seem to understand this and keep providing ammunition to these people. Anyway, hope we figure it out soon. Keep up the good work.
African Tigress you are doing a good job, continue putting out great contents.
Glad to see you both got a chance to connect; was one of those individuals suggesting that you meetup. Have been following his channel for sometime, stayed at his hotel Travelers, met him once and he was so welcoming.
Saying again; you should visit Roaring River in Petersfield and also Pelican Bar in Bluefield if you have time on that side of the island.
African Trigress please extend your stay in Jamaica you are doing a great job
Great content absolutely enjoyed every minute
Well done Tigress, great interview ❤

An awesome and informative interview. Great job, and keep up your good youtube work. I also follow his interviews. Blessings and keep safe.🎉❤
From what I know, not all the natives have the freedom to go to all the beaches. Some of the beaches are restricted to the locals. That much I know.
Woooow I use to use Winthrop Car Service, they still exist.
Please watch Jamaica with Irie videos on beach access. You will find a wealth of information on her channel as well as Throp's. And don't forget to subscribe it is free.
Not true
Want to see Throp interview her hoping that he does...
I love you for this girl!
