Thanks everyone for the comments and kind words. Always fun to read what you have to say. I wish I had more time to respond to everyone. Have the World's Best day!
The K100 Aerodyne was a beautiful truck. So glad I had the chance to drive one once before they disappeared. I was like a kid in a candy store.
Cabovers need to come back.
Yes Man!!
Why? They went away because nobody wanted them they were viewed like a modern aero hood truck is now back then
@@theoregontruckerT880 They went away because length restrictions were finally loosened..Had nothing to do with people not wanting them.
Exactly! Once those restrictions went away so did those trucks. I personally would rather have one of those trucks today considering how the infrastructure is in the US.
@@busboy3232 the Length Restrictions still remain in place here in Australia
The best cabover Kenworth made
I’m happy that I live here in Australia
I get to see the Kenworth cab overs all the time and I heard Kenworth Australia is making a new cab over
Yeah but I've still got my Dirty Harry 44 magnum and 870 12 gauge. You guys got robbed 25 years ago.
Greetings from Germany. The old cabovers were amazing! Sorry, that they were abandoned. I love them!
It's amazing how many still haven't figured it out yet that ya gotta turn your phone sideways to film in landscape mode to avoid recording just a little section in the middle of the screen..lol ..that being said, that truck is so nostalgically beautiful~
You can not beat the old school look and the old school mechanics, the cab over is one beautiful looking old girl and she was a beautiful sounding old girl too.
Hope to see more of the old school truck's.
The still camera shots really showed the color. Beautiful. Reminds me of my dad's old cab over Peterbilt. Awesome stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it
This is one of my favorite semis love how cheap you can get them for
Love the vintage cabovers! Awesome paint scheme and color choice. Those exterior color combinations need to be incorporated into the interior to complete the project. Beautiful truck regardless.
What an awesome restoration! I know we only got a peak on the inside but wow, that was an amazing rig inside and out!
I put a few miles on a '78 model pulling 45' and 48' trailers when 48 footers were still the new thing.
Every time I see a front wheel drive KW it brings back memory's I knew a guy in Detroit back in 1980 his wife had a baby & they traded the baby for a 79 vit double bunk KW True story
Awesome to see you show a k100 some respect I’m doing my duty to keep one on the road I wish they would make us new cabovers here in North America but I don’t see it happening unfortunately
Maybe you should ask the factory to special order a K200 cab from Australia and do you a one off to test the market. Actually do two, one long chassis and one for B-doubles/triples
That truck is looking Great.
Porter greetings! 🇺🇸 That K100 was quite a knockout as far as cabovers go! 🥰 Not all of the old timers really liked the cabovers, but many had their favorites. They did ride differently and had such a different appearance. But you can say one thing for sure…Many a cabover would fit into those TIGHT spots when you couldn’t get a conventional in there. That especially is true today…with 53 foot trailers, tighter spots. A remember taking a GMC Astro, tandem axle, and spotting trailers at a dock like it was nothing, when the conventionals would try it and get stuck in the mud or snow across the street from the dock. I started out in a cabover Marmon and a single axle Ford C800 cabover. I could park trailers 6 inches apart and have to go under the trailers to crank the dollies down, if they didn’t have the auto drop dollies of the 1950s trailers. I could make a U turn on a dime with a cabover when the others had to back up once to make a U turn! I enjoyed the ride of most of the cabovers I drove. And I love the look of a cabover and 53 foot trailer combo. You don’t see much of those combos, but we would see more than what you think if they were still made here in the USA. There are more places across the USA that hard much harder to navigate in these fine, long, nice riding conventionals(NewYork, PA, MO). Just ask a driver that had put over 1 million miles in a cabover. I love cabovers and the fact that they have character, style and pizazz! Cabovers Rule and others drool! 🥰 I’m glad that you showed the inside as well. It wasn’t all painted up, but I’m not sure it needed any new paint in there! My thought on that…If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! He stretched it out and put a stylish paint job on it. I would be proud to own that truck and wouldn’t hesitate driving it anywhere! 😎 I’m really not sure he would sell it, even though you said he told you that he would sell it. Maybe the novelty hasn’t worn off yet, you know what I mean!? I’m so glad that he is working it though. You never mentioned what part(s) he came by to get though. Good to hear from you again! 🤩 Thanks for sharing this one! 🥰
Dam straight!!!
These old trucks should be on the road and not locked away collecting dust or a god dam trailer queen.
Got it! Run it!
I am glad to see grease on that 5th wheel and she's being used. Beautiful paint job on her.
Me too!
All our trucks in Europe are cabovers. 450 to 750hp, quiet, auto gearboxes 12 speed, nice to drive.
I remember these as new trucks!
That was a beautiful C/O, I have to say I loved those trucks back when I was running in the early/mid 90’s.....
Thanks for watching!
The Kenworth K- 100 was always my favorite model of Kenworth trucks great video thank you so much
What a beautiful truck. I learned to drive in an '87 K100
I would think if they did bring a cabover back it would be the k 200 that they build in Australia.
lol the k200 is a international eagle 9870 (not Iveco) design that Kenworth ripped off and put different grill
Gotta love a cat with opened straight pipes
That's why i watch your channel.
That’s my dream truck to have
I actually like the inside better than the outside! That blue interior is gorgeous, that's pretty much my dream ride!
KW needs to build these here in N America again but with the Aussie aero refinement
Agreed. Would be cool as a limited run
I love the paint and stretch job.
This truck is AWESOME!!! 😎
I had a 1987 K100E with big bunk , 8 bag air ride and a 350 cat 3406… truly a decent riding truck that just ate highway miles. I should have kept it!
What a fantastic looking truck. Great job
Wow the truck looks absolutely amazing for the year awesome video Kenworth guy
Beautiful truck!
Nice Rig. I miss the cab overs.
I like that truck man. That’s a good looking cabover Kenworth. That engine is probably a Cat 3406. I know that Kenworth has the K200 cabover in Australia right now.
a real treat so cool!
Pulled a bull rack with one these. Lots &lots miles.KTTA Cummins 600 with a 5x4. Browny was a air shift.
That’s a awesome cab over
Hola Andy hermoso K100 espectacular ese clasico bendicionezs desde Ecuador
Outstanding old school cool
Awesome!Restore!!
Wow GORGEOUS
Way way way bad ass man thanks for sharing with us
I had two CO's in my long carrier. I feel like this KW and all the other brand CO's where built for exactly where they ended up.. The museum. After they made you climb like a monkey all day, they then forced you to walk around on your knees for the rest of the night. There is a legend that some even came with several Kidney specialist, Spine specialist, and Brain Stem specialist business cards. Made things allot simpler then having to try and wrestle with the Yellow Pages that your arms were no longer able to lift. You could always count on them to get stuck in revers on the coldest days.. but it did help you find that bag of potato chips you've been looking for (along with a good bit of change) as you flipped her over to yank on that dam rod one more time. Oh yea, I miss those broad side of a barn flat faced queens going down the road in 40 mph head winds.
Good times... Good times. She's a beauty though.
Yeah most of the people that think they are so cool never spent much time sitting on top of the front tire! I love that people are restoring them but I don’t want to work one!
Being where it came from & the color it use to be I'd bet money that it started it's life as a Werner Ent. company truck. it is a beautiful truck now
Bet so too. Werner used to have sharp trucks. All cookie cutter trash now
@@mikemikes3514 Yea back when I drove for them ( 1993 - 1996 ) they still looked good but I agree they don't look as good anymore
Great video Andy. It brings back a lot of memories of my younger days. Only for mine coming in soon, I'd be sitting in that K100.
Not much longer eh!
@@AndyTheKenworthGuy 😊 I'm super excited
AWESOME 💯
That is one cool truck! My favorite American semi. Too bad I don't live in North America, I'd definitely look to buy one.
Badass kw k100 cabover
First truck I ever drove was a 87 K100 flat top 110” bunk.
4:33 Good for him. i put alotta miles, on a 74 COE k-100. Best cabs, of any, at any year, especially those modern rolling piles of plastic garbage they produce. now. miss those, original interiors......used to put drink cans/bottles on the grab handle, outside on top of drivers door. '' come on, mate, have a cold one '''.............good day, SIR....
Nothing like a K-100
That was one nice truck awesome
Thanks 👍
I honestly think if they brought back the k100, Kenworth couldn't build them fast enough.
Or the K200 that's used in other countries
K200, yep!
Only if they keep the same over all length we have now if they put a Cab over on say a standard 235” wheelbase T680 chassis you could have a whole extra 5’ of sleeper imagine a T680 with no hood and a 138” sleeper or for flatbed applications they could keep the 78” sleeper and still have 5’ between the trailer and cab without having to stretch the wheelbase from 235 to 275 like they do now
@@theoregontruckerT880 They will never understand. More than likely they were never forced to have to live in one for long periods. God im so glad their gone
@@thomaswilson8634 The newer technology in the european COE truck ride better than the conventional trucks here in the US and they are walkthrough. I agree with the space inside, cant beat a conventional but when all you see is conventionals on the highway everyday, its nice to see something different. its a matter or opinion on what you like, I have 3 COE vehicles, one van, one medium duty and one 88 international 9700. I will always drive COE.
Daf (paccar) have just launched an all new cabover in Europe, perhaps you could get one shipped over to North America to tour the dealerships.
Very cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome Truck
Nice truck . I just found your channel. Josh mentioned u on his channel and yours after all these years finally popped up as a suggested view .
This truck definitely needed❤️🤍
Thanks for watching!
Very nice!
Blue & red don't go together. When you said it was blue, I assumed it had saddle int. But whoa!
I think it would be cool to have a cab over if it was flat floor had pop out stair case like the argosy had and had a big sleeper you could keep the standard 235” wheelbase but with no hood you’d have more room to add more sleeper space imagine a T680 with no hood but instead of a 78” sleeper it was 100” or 120” you could have a real fridge and freezer like an rv has or a recliner to relax in or a small sink and single range to cook on
The Argosy was a great truck.
The 8 pack bubble butt curtainside contrell not so much.
They did that back in the 80s.
I love it
beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey Andy you can put a word into Kenworth about bringing the k200 over here from Australia .I would be fine with that!
Same here, love it.
See wahr I can do.
Yes. Please and Thank You.
@@AndyTheKenworthGuy please, that would be really cool. Also what is preventing KW from making a plant to produce k200 here? The cabovers are very popular these days, is not a big enough market yet?
I've never been a fan of the rectangular headlights and air horns. Nonetheless, this is a great looking resto. Bring over the K200.
Exactly
I’ve been seeing a lot of cabovers lately especially of i70 in Indiana/Ohio seen an unusual freightliner with a chicken slider
I bet that semi turns a lot of heads because KW cabovers are super rare now these days.
Freekin gorgeous truck 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
No doubt!
Kenworth and Peterbilt used to paint all engines white whatever make they were, Cat Cummins or Detroit. I-H ( Navistar) used to paint these engines red. The cabovers are still made in Australia & New Zealand has the 9870 I-H with twinsteer and lone- star grille.
Love it
So nice eh
Awesome
I like this video, I hope you can do more retro videos, I've seen a few K100s recently, flat top and aerodyne
Next time I'll do a full on KG photoshoot!
Super cool truck right there make u wont 2 go 2 work
Beatful truck
Makes me wish Kenworth would bring the K200 to NA.
Rode in one when I was 10 years old with my dad
Nice looking old school, unless you had to live in one you have no appreciation for the conventional cab with a walking sleeper with fridge, I lived in one and have no desire to have one. We had a saying for those cabovers, " live in a doghouse and piss on a wheel, I feel like shit".
I drove those COE's for 20 + years & they were great other than freeze your ass off in the winter, a pain in the ass to get in the bunk. They did 1 hell of a restoration on that 1.
Totally!
You had the best heater in the summer and the best ac in the winter with the k100
Holy shit its Jimmy!
Now you're just teasing me Andy that cowboy was awesome
Cabover
No kidding bud. LOL
If the K100 was mine I would have spend less on the outside and more on the inside. Then again it isn't so I wish the owner many safe kilometers. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Not a fun of stretching chasis but Jesuschrist what a beauty :- O
You need to import some K200s from us here in Australia...
That would be sweet... if only
Nice 🚛
We still have Kenworth Cab overs in Australia 😝😝😝😝
So pretty!!
you can bet in 30 years nobody is going to get excited if a T680 shows up one day
😍😍😍😍woow!
Man that nice
Sure is
According to the add I just saw on FB, it has a Cat 400. The guy is asking $200k and it's in Canada
bad ass truck. hope u take it as a compliment but. man u look like (Don JR.) and love your videos
Sure. Thanks!
My dreams ride
Am I crazy or was there a KW cab over that looked just like it hauling gravel around Winnipeg 2 years ago!
Most likely the CAT is a 3406. Also they were painted white back in the early days for a short time. Not sure why.......? Thy look awesome
Beautiful truck, but not a fan of long stretches
