You should know that they have been respected since before they joined hybe... They are known as one of the best dance groups and they are also known for being self producing idols. There are groups that produce their own music but Seventeen is the most involved group cuz they also produce their own music. Their main producer Woozi(svt members and vocal leader)
Hybe definitely has a lot of talented groups under their label but Seventeen only got acquired by Hybe in mid 2020. Before this they were already a well-established, highly respected and successful group, known for being self producing since before debut, for their powerful performances and for being the most synchronized male group.
Ngl, hearing they are dope and are talented just because they are under HYBE is a pure bull- They are managed by their own company, PLEDIS for years and even till now. They are a self-producing group since their debut. Honestly, they are doing VERY WELL even without HYBE's help.
Yeah, I was kinda feeling the same way.. nothing against them though(or HYBE) bc I know they’re still new to K-Pop and all.. but honestly, the only reason why HYBE acquired PLEDIS was bc of SVT… not putting NU’EST down or anything, but SVT was already known/popular and extremely talented before HYBE acquired PLEDIS. They’re one of the top boy groups.. I will say that HYBE has been helpful by providing the money/budget for MVs and stuff like that (their MVs were already good) along with a bigger living space for the members🙏🏽 Aside from that, nothing’s changed about SVT, they’re still and will always do what they do best.. no matter what management they’re under (still under PLEDIS). Sorry HYBE, but you can’t take credit this time lol I’m glad they enjoyed SVT and hopefully they’ll react to more of them and their content🙂

Someone may have mentioned it already, but this group has been self produced since debut. Crazy considering the quality of their entire discography. Their performance unit members normally choreograph or are heavily involved in the choreo process as well. They are insane.
Definitely check more out. Seventeen and The Boyz are probably the MOST IN SNYC groups in terms of dancing. And Hoshi (member of Seventeen), as far as I know, choreographs the dances for Seventeen. My personal favourites are "Very nice", "HIT" (sick choreo), "Boom Boom". They have a whole variety of songs. And Face the sun is the title of their new album.

Was the same with latin american music. I was, still am, into it because of the telenovelas and listened to it for like over 10 years before Despacito came and the whole world was going crazy and now you will hear latin music everywhere. I’ll be honest, BTS got me into K-pop 2.5 years ago and then I learned about more groups and definitely like many groups. I didn’t think anyone can take the top spot of BTS as my favorite group but when I finally couldn’t resist Seventeen anymore last year, they shot up to be my favorite. This is my story too but I got into kpop in 2017 and didn't want to stan another group after bts until I found seventeen and then they became my ult group. I'm still mad that I didn't stan them earlier.
They are a self-producing group like stray kids but these guys sometimes even do the lighting, directing, editing and shooting their own mv's except for the usual choreographing, producing, writing lyrics, arranging, composing and all.....they are known as the PERFORMANCE KINGS OF KPOP and this is because they add a new variation for every performance and are so in SYNC, their dances are insane (choreographed by the dance unit: hoshi, the8, dino and jun). fun fact: they have their own vareity show called "going seventeen" and it's the only idol show in korea that is recognized as a family show like when families get together, they sit down and watch it or weekly show to watch after a stressful week. it's popular among all age groups ranging from grannies and grandpas to elementary school kids
@@joshuacastro1518 I know this is an old comment, but please don't discredit talent. The OP commenter was indeed factual with their statement. SKZ are 99.9% self produced. (I say that, because the one and only exception are the majority of the lyrics for one singular song.) Mind you, that is out of a 167+ discography. The lyrics were a gift from JYP himself, and were done only because the guys were still learning Japanese. As well as getting ready for their Japanese debut and he wanted to save them the work. They literally couldn't refuse him. However 3RACHA had to alter the lyrics to fit their unique sound, as well as their storyline properly. They also have the production credits for it as well. They then indicated strongly to him, that while they accept it and appreciate his kindness greatly, they would really prefer to write their own lyrics. Since they carry much pride in themselves for their discography being of their creation. They even have a member that works on their choreography, and whose job is as a their Dance Leader to rearrange choreography for performances. Since, just like Seventeen, they rearrange songs for each new stage, so they do the same with choreography. Just because two groups have the same work ethic though, is not a bad thing. It's amazing that ther to groups that are like this. Be happy for them... Don't be disrespectful. I love Seventeen and they are IMMENSELY talented. Heck, them and SKZ are the only two I can say I truly love and respect wholeheartedly. (Truth is truth, even BTS have had many songs written and produced by other people completely.) SKZ, other than the majority of the lyrics for that one Japanese track are self-made. At most, they have a handful of friends who come in as co-producers only, but other than that, they are truly responsible for their music. From beginning to end. The guys like to give credit where credit is due, and 3RACHA finds it helpful to bounce ideas off of people to avoid getting stale. Which fans of kpop, in general, need to remember to do as well. Giving credit should NEVER require removing credit from another unbelievably, and equally, talented individual. Just like in the situation. Specially when many within your own fandom love just as much. Besides Seventeen should never require such a thing in order to have their work feel more valid for you, in your eyes. It's an ugly trait to have. They are the Kings of 3rd Gen (in mine and many others OPINION of course ... 🙄 lol) while SKZ are the songs of the 4th gen. It's not like they are stepping on each other's popularity. Plus the fandoms get along very well, let's not ruin that.
Seventeen just released a video on Dingo called Killing Voice where they sang short snippets of various of their songs. I think it would be a great starter course to get to know their discography :)
They make their own Music. WOOZI, one of their members and the Vocal Unit's leader, is their MAIN PRODUCER. All of their albums and the songs in each albums are PRODUCED (Main composer and lyricist) by him. All members got credits to at least not less than 5 songs. SEVENTEEN by far are one of the best groups in kpop (for me) as Hoshi, a member of svt, choreographs their choreos and woozi produces majority of their songs. They as a whole are such an in sync group, and their energy together is perfection

Seventeen just celebrated their 7th anniversary on May 26th, so in my book Hot was a very, very nice present for Carats. Just wanted to say this because a lot of people get confused: Seventeen isn't really under Hybe. They're fully managed by Pledis, but Hybe can offer them songs and other music related things after becoming their music distributer in 2020, when they bought stocks in Pledis. SVT has access the the building, and even have their own floor or practice room (can't remember which one) within it.

Seventeen is a phenomenal group, and they are a self-produced group. They do almost everything by themselves. From writting to producing songs, to choreographing their dances. Member Woozi ( Lee Jihoon ) is the main producer of the group, and Hoshi ( Kwon Soonyoung) is the main choreographer of the grp and off course the other member also has their own input. I've been a Kpop fan for a long time and Seventeen is one of the only grps where each and every member is likeable in my opinion. I would really suggest you to properly get into them. As a beginner, start off by listening to some of their popular releases like darl+ing ( Their first full English song ), Don't wanna cry, Hit, Rock with you, Home, left and right, clap, Very nice etc. Then, if u like them, u can also look into their guides. They also have some fun variety shows like Going seventeen! ( "Going Seventeen" is similar to Run BTS, a new ep of going Seventeen drops every week ), then there's also, Seventeen : In the soop ( You've prolly heard of the BTS in the soop, it's the same thing but Seventeen version ).

Almost all of their songs are composed and written by Woozi, while Hoshi works with different choreography teams to make their phenomenal choreography. They also design a lot of their own merchandise, are in charge of marketing and even promotion scheduling. Despite being called seventeen, they actually have 13 members. The reason why they’re called seventeen is because they’re made up of 13 members, 3 units and 1 team. So 13 + 3 + 1 = 17. The 3 units are vocal, performance and hip hop, and each has a leader. Woozi is the leader of the vocal unit, Hoshi is the leader of the performance unit while S.Coups is the general leader of seventeen and also a leader of the hip hop unit. These units are divided by what their main positions are, however that does not mean they’re not good at other things. Dance for example, is something all the members are very good at. There’s a reason why they’re known to be the most synchronised group in kpop and are called a “performance powerhouse”. You can see how hard they work to perfect every performance in their Inside Seventeen series on their YT channel. It’s honestly just so amazing. These units will also have songs of their own in each album. And each of them have quite distinctive styles sonically that are different from their overall group sound too which is quite cool. VU for example leans a bit more towards ballads, whether upbeat or sentimental, while PU are more bass-heavy with house sounds and EDM. HHU meanwhile have quite a mixed bag of sounds. They’re maybe closest sonically to HOT with “louder” sounds, some hyperpop with some slow raps as well. These guys also just have one of the best vibes in kpop. They’ve been together for more than a decade now if we count their trainee years and that bond and teamwork really comes through in everything they do. There’s a reason why they’re called “theatre kids of kpop”. Their general group sound are often a bit more on the upbeat side with crazy creativity in choreography that makes you feel like you’re watching a musical. For example, Snap Shoot. But it’s also because when they’re together in variety content, like Going Seventeen, their chemistry and humour just explodes. It’s to the point where even non-fans would tune in to their YT channel every week to watch their variety show, Going Seventeen. Also, if you’re planning on doing an album reaction (which I highly recommend), I would recommend taking a look at the channel seventeenlyrics which are quite trusted by the fandom overall in terms of accuracy and translation. They haven’t finished uploading for Face The Sun yet but other albums are on there. Also, for Face The Sun, you might want to check out their highlight medley because it’s filmed so gorgeously, almost like an MV. For song recommendations, I would say to just search their MVs and pick anything that catches your eye. Fear for example is a bit more darker. While Home;Run has more of a jazzy vibe. Don’t Wanna Cry is a bit more EDM. A fan-favourite could be Kidult with its stunning vocals. There’s so many to choose from. They debuted on 26th may 2015 and this song was released as a part of their 4th full album Face the Sun just a single day after their 7th anniversary - they are one of few Kpop groups who broke the seven years curse with all the original members. The meaning behind their name, Seventeen, is that 13 members who are separated into 3 subunits (hip-hop, vocal and performance) come together to create one big family and team: 13+3+1=17 Ever since their debut, they've been self producing pretty much all of their music and a lot of their choreography as well. I love their songs and they are all great singers. Every day I like a different voice 😆 They're funny and have their own channel like BTSRun used to be. Actually "That That" has nothing to do with Hybe other than yoongi producing it, psy's label were the ones who decided everything for video etc. And hybe actually doesn't have a lot of influence on whatever Seventeen does other than putting money ig, seventeen is managed by pledis and pledis gives seventeen a lot of freedom. Seventeen are called THEE self producing idols not only because they have written and composed all of their songs since debut along with choreography, but also because they contribute with anything related to them, either ideas for the music, video, outfits, everything that goes along with their concerts, they even did a magazine shoot by themselves, seventeen just participates in any creation that related to them. They're also called kings of synchronization since they're the most synchronized kpop group in general and kpop performance powerhouse because of their dancing and performance, many peope outside the fandom say they're one of the best dancers in the industry
I like that you guys are willing to listen to different groups. I started in 2017, but, also went down the rabbit hole of K-Pop and learned about the older groups too (H.O.T., TVXQ, Rain, Seo Taiji & Boys, etc.) My only regret is not listening sooner to K-pop. i TOTALLY get all the comparisons youre making since you guys are technically new fans, (id hope bc welcome to the carat life) i think yall would definitely enjoy watching a guide video about the members and getting to learn about some of their history, its been a long time coming! svt have the title of "self producing idols" in korea as theyre known for producing and heavily participating in everything that they put out from choreography to producing the songs, writing lyrics, designing merch or sets, etc. they're also known as one of, if not tHE MOST, in sync group when it comes to their choreography. because they have a wide range of members divided into different units, the possibilities for them are endless and theyre always churning out something new while staying genuine to the fans and themselves. also im not finished the video but i almost bust a lung when you put up a picture of jeonghan when referring to s.coups but BC I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY, not bc im upset. groups take time to learn! :D SVT was the group that rlly got me into kpop and the first group i ever learned, it took me FOREVER, but its so worth it AND IF YOU LIKED THAT PART OF HOT, youll definitely enjoy their music!!!
It's a bit of a long story but in a nutshell... SEVENTEEN was born under Pledis entertainment in 2015 and they are still there to date, renewing their contract as a full group in 2021. HYBE acquired the majority of shares of Pledis for this reason, it is that Pledis in 2020 became a subsidiary of HYBE.

Please check out Seventeen more, most the comments have said it all, they are not kidding when they said they are self produced idols cause literally ever since predebut all their songs are all made by them (Mainly Woozi but still other members involve themselves here and there), the dance by performance unit as well as their own rap lyrics by hip hop unit. Aside being called under "Pledis" and "Hybe", people used to call them "EBS" which stands for Exo, Bts and Seventeen but we carats said SEVENTEEN IS SEVENTEEN so we used to call them SBS, which stands for Seventeen's Brand is Seventeen. Not under Pledis or Hype but Seventeen is Seventeen (of course Pledis did gave them an opportunity, love you Pledis btw)

You should know that they have been respected since before they joined hybe... They are known as one of the best dance groups and they are also known for being self producing idols. There are groups that produce their own music but Seventeen is the most involved group cuz they also produce their own music. Their main producer Woozi(svt members and vocal leader)
Hybe definitely has a lot of talented groups under their label but Seventeen only got acquired by Hybe in mid 2020. Before this they were already a well-established, highly respected and successful group, known for being self producing since before debut, for their powerful performances and for being the most synchronized male group.

Yeah, I was kinda feeling the same way.. nothing against them though(or HYBE) bc I know they’re still new to K-Pop and all.. but honestly, the only reason why HYBE acquired PLEDIS was bc of SVT… not putting NU’EST down or anything, but SVT was already known/popular and extremely talented before HYBE acquired PLEDIS. They’re one of the top boy groups.. I will say that HYBE has been helpful by providing the money/budget for MVs and stuff like that (their MVs were already good) along with a bigger living space for the members🙏🏽 Aside from that, nothing’s changed about SVT, they’re still and will always do what they do best.. no matter what management they’re under (still under PLEDIS). Sorry HYBE, but you can’t take credit this time lol

Someone may have mentioned it already, but this group has been self produced since debut. Crazy considering the quality of their entire discography. Their performance unit members normally choreograph or are heavily involved in the choreo process as well. They are insane.
Definitely check more out. Seventeen and The Boyz are probably the MOST IN SNYC groups in terms of dancing. And Hoshi (member of Seventeen), as far as I know, choreographs the dances for Seventeen. My personal favourites are "Very nice", "HIT" (sick choreo), "Boom Boom". They have a whole variety of songs. And Face the sun is the title of their new album.

I guess kpop in Croatia exists but not on a large scale. Maybe it will change. Was the same with latin american music. I was, still am, into it because of the telenovelas and listened to it for like over 10 years before Despacito came and the whole world was going crazy and now you will hear latin music everywhere. Perhaps it will happen with kpop as well.

I’ll be honest, BTS got me into K-pop 2.5 years ago and then I learned about more groups and definitely like many groups. I didn’t think anyone can take the top spot of BTS as my favorite group but when I finally couldn’t resist Seventeen anymore last year, they shot up to be my favorite. They are a self-producing group like stray kids but these guys sometimes even do the lighting, directing, editing and shooting their own mv's except for the usual choreographing, producing, writing lyrics, arranging, composing and all.....they are known as the PERFORMANCE KINGS OF KPOP and this is because they add a new variation for every performance and are so in SYNC, their dances are insane (choreographed by the dance unit: hoshi, the8, dino and jun).
fun fact: they have their own vareity show called "going seventeen" and it's the only idol show in korea that is recognized as a family show like when families get together, they sit down and watch it or weekly show to watch after a stressful week. it's popular among all age groups ranging from grannies and grandpas to elementary school kids

@@joshuacastro1518 I know this is an old comment, but please don't discredit talent. The OP commenter was indeed factual with their statement. SKZ are 99.9% self produced. (I say that, because the one and only exception are the majority of the lyrics for one singular song.)
Mind you, that is out of a 167+ discography. The lyrics were a gift from JYP himself, and were done only because the guys were still learning Japanese. As well as getting ready for their Japanese debut and he wanted to save them the work. They literally couldn't refuse him.
However 3RACHA had to alter the lyrics to fit their unique sound, as well as their storyline properly. They also have the production credits for it as well. They then indicated strongly to him, that while they accept it and appreciate his kindness greatly, they would really prefer to write their own lyrics. Since they carry much pride in themselves for their discography being of their creation.
They even have a member that works on their choreography, and whose job is as a their Dance Leader to rearrange choreography for performances. Since, just like Seventeen, they rearrange songs for each new stage, so they do the same with choreography. Just because two groups have the same work ethic though, is not a bad thing. It's amazing that ther to groups that are like this. Be happy for them... Don't be disrespectful.
I love Seventeen and they are IMMENSELY talented. Heck, them and SKZ are the only two I can say I truly love and respect wholeheartedly. (Truth is truth, even BTS have had many songs written and produced by other people completely.) SKZ, other than the majority of the lyrics for that one Japanese track are self-made.
At most, they have a handful of friends who come in as co-producers only, but other than that, they are truly responsible for their music. From beginning to end. The guys like to give credit where credit is due, and 3RACHA finds it helpful to bounce ideas off of people to avoid getting stale.
Which fans of kpop, in general, need to remember to do as well. Giving credit should NEVER require removing credit from another unbelievably, and equally, talented individual. Just like in the situation. Specially when many within your own fandom love just as much.
Besides Seventeen should never require such a thing in order to have their work feel more valid for you, in your eyes. It's an ugly trait to have. They are the Kings of 3rd Gen (in mine and many others OPINION of course ... 🙄 lol) while SKZ are the songs of the 4th gen. It's not like they are stepping on each other's popularity. Plus the fandoms get along very well, let's not ruin that.

They make their own Music. WOOZI, one of their members and the Vocal Unit's leader, is their MAIN PRODUCER. All of their albums and the songs in each albums are PRODUCED (Main composer and lyricist) by him. All members got credits to at least not less than 5 songs. They are active in choreographing their own songs too, especially HOSHI (one of the two Main dancers, leader of Performance Unit) with the help of other members of their Performance Unit (Dino, The8, and Jun).
edit: They planned about this 4th full album since December 2021, and the process for producing started around January.
They have a great variety of songs since Woozi does not like getting tied down to a certain genre, and he's very true to their OWN sound. He loves exploring and will create music for the sake of SEVENTEEN and Carats (their fans).

Seventeen is one of the group that if you like kpop you should know them. SEVENTEEN by far are one of the best groups in kpop (for me) as Hoshi, a member of svt, choreographs their choreos and woozi produces majority of their songs. They as a whole are such an in sync group, and their energy together is perfection
very relatable reaction lol. the industry really does have so many talented people and this is why I love being a multifan. so much content! also, seventeen really are all about good vibes. the group is very hilarious as much as they are very talented. also, no worries it did give "that that" tempo a little at the beginning. but the desert theme is actually seen in many kpop even western mvs so it is pretty common. oh and the guy with long hair in the cowboy hat is S.Coups and the one of the rappers you like is Wonwoo.

Seventeen just celebrated their 7th anniversary on May 26th, so in my book Hot was a very, very nice present for Carats. Just wanted to say this because a lot of people get confused: Seventeen isn't really under Hybe. They're fully managed by Pledis, but Hybe can offer them songs and other music related things after becoming their music distributer in 2020, when they bought stocks in Pledis. SVT has access the the building, and even have their own floor or practice room (can't remember which one) within it.

Seventeen is a phenomenal group, and they are a self-produced group. They do almost everything by themselves. From writting to producing songs, to choreographing their dances. Member Woozi ( Lee Jihoon ) is the main producer of the group, and Hoshi ( Kwon Soonyoung) is the main choreographer of the grp and off course the other member also has their own input. I've been a Kpop fan for a long time and Seventeen is one of the only grps where each and every member is likeable in my opinion. I would really suggest you to properly get into them. As a beginner, start off by listening to some of their popular releases like darl+ing ( Their first full English song ), Don't wanna cry, Hit, Rock with you, Home, left and right, clap, Very nice etc. Then, if u like them, u can also look into their guides. They also have some fun variety shows like Going seventeen! ( "Going Seventeen" is similar to Run BTS, a new ep of going Seventeen drops every week ), then there's also, Seventeen : In the soop ( You've prolly heard of the BTS in the soop, it's the same thing but Seventeen version ).

I swear to God, these men are much more. They truly deserves more recognition. Their discography, choreography, vocals and visuals are insane. SVTis a group which debuted last May 26, 2015. Yes, they've been in the business for 7 years now.
They are divided into 3 units: Vocal unit, Performance unit and Hiphop unit. SEVENTEEN are called self-producing idols and they hold that title ever since their debut.
They have almost everything if you are to ask me hahaha. They're good entertainers too, truly a whole package kind of group.

“Left & Right” & “Hit” are good choices . And a personal favorite is “Getting Closer” , the choreo for that is crazy good. Most of their stuff is top tier. If you can find it, there’s a super famous video where they dance 2x speed to “don’t wanna cry” . It has 26 million views for a 3 minute clip. Almost all of their songs are composed and written by Woozi, while Hoshi works with different choreography teams to make their phenomenal choreography. They also design a lot of their own merchandise, are in charge of marketing and even promotion scheduling.
Despite being called seventeen, they actually have 13 members. The reason why they’re called seventeen is because they’re made up of 13 members, 3 units and 1 team. So 13 + 3 + 1 = 17. The 3 units are vocal, performance and hip hop, and each has a leader. Woozi is the leader of the vocal unit, Hoshi is the leader of the performance unit while S.Coups is the general leader of seventeen and also a leader of the hip hop unit. These units are divided by what their main positions are, however that does not mean they’re not good at other things. Dance for example, is something all the members are very good at. There’s a reason why they’re known to be the most synchronised group in kpop and are called a “performance powerhouse”. You can see how hard they work to perfect every performance in their Inside Seventeen series on their YT channel. It’s honestly just so amazing.
These units will also have songs of their own in each album. And each of them have quite distinctive styles sonically that are different from their overall group sound too which is quite cool. VU for example leans a bit more towards ballads, whether upbeat or sentimental, while PU are more bass-heavy with house sounds and EDM. HHU meanwhile have quite a mixed bag of sounds. They’re maybe closest sonically to HOT with “louder” sounds, some hyperpop with some slow raps as well.
These guys also just have one of the best vibes in kpop. They’ve been together for more than a decade now if we count their trainee years and that bond and teamwork really comes through in everything they do. There’s a reason why they’re called “theatre kids of kpop”. Their general group sound are often a bit more on the upbeat side with crazy creativity in choreography that makes you feel like you’re watching a musical. For example, Snap Shoot. But it’s also because when they’re together in variety content, like Going Seventeen, their chemistry and humour just explodes. It’s to the point where even non-fans would tune in to their YT channel every week to watch their variety show, Going Seventeen.
Also, if you’re planning on doing an album reaction (which I highly recommend), I would recommend taking a look at the channel seventeenlyrics which are quite trusted by the fandom overall in terms of accuracy and translation. They haven’t finished uploading for Face The Sun yet but other albums are on there. Also, for Face The Sun, you might want to check out their highlight medley because it’s filmed so gorgeously, almost like an MV.
For song recommendations, I would say to just search their MVs and pick anything that catches your eye. Fear for example is a bit more darker. While Home;Run has more of a jazzy vibe. Don’t Wanna Cry is a bit more EDM. A fan-favourite could be Kidult with its stunning vocals. There’s so many to choose from.
And if you’re looking for a guide and don’t mind extra long ones, I would recommend the Super Long Seventeen Guide 2022 by caratline17. It’s one of the most comprehensive and really gets into each members, and the dynamics they have with each other in the group overall.

Seventeen is a 13 member group under Pledis entertainment (Pledis was acquired by Hybe in 2020, before that, they were entirely their own thing). They debuted on 26th may 2015 and this song was released as a part of their 4th full album Face the Sun just a single day after their 7th anniversary - they are one of few Kpop groups who broke the seven years curse with all the original members.
The meaning behind their name, Seventeen, is that 13 members who are separated into 3 subunits (hip-hop, vocal and performance) come together to create one big family and team: 13+3+1=17
Ever since their debut, they've been self producing pretty much all of their music and a lot of their choreography as well. Seventeen member Woozi, who is the main producer of the group, actually composed and wrote the lyrics to this song. Wonwoo, Vernon, Dino, Hoshi, Mingyu and S.coups all contributed to the other tracks on this album.
Seventeen actually has two fandom names: The first is Carat. Most fans of their music call themselves Carat. The other one is Cubic, which is used for fans of their famous variety show, Going Seventeen. Cubics may not be "invested" in their music enough to call themselves carats but by becoming a cubic they are honestly just a step away from becoming Carat.

Hi! I must say that Seventeen is one of my favorite groups. I love that they participate in producing, writing and doing the choreography themselves. Its a very talented and varied group. I love their songs and they are all great singers. Every day I like a different voice 😆 They're funny and have their own channel like BTSRun used to be. Actually "That That" has nothing to do with Hybe other than yoongi producing it, psy's label were the ones who decided everything for video etc. And hybe actually doesn't have a lot of influence on whatever Seventeen does other than putting money ig, seventeen is managed by pledis and pledis gives seventeen a lot of freedom. Seventeen are called THEE self producing idols not only because they have written and composed all of their songs since debut along with choreography, but also because they contribute with anything related to them, either ideas for the music, video, outfits, everything that goes along with their concerts, they even did a magazine shoot by themselves, seventeen just participates in any creation that related to them. They're also called kings of synchronization since they're the most synchronized kpop group in general and kpop performance powerhouse because of their dancing and performance, many peope outside the fandom say they're one of the best dancers in the industry

I like that you guys are willing to listen to different groups. I started in 2017, but, also went down the rabbit hole of K-Pop and learned about the older groups too (H.O.T., TVXQ, Rain, Seo Taiji & Boys, etc.) My only regret is not listening sooner to K-pop. I was listening to J-pop in the early 2000's, so I never opened myself up to other countries music back then. But, now that I know about K-pop, I appreciate all of it.

Member WOOZI is not only a lead vocalist, but involved in writing (and often producing) most of their songs. (Easy to identify as he is the shorter member ... 5'5")
He has also written/produced for many other artists.
He also does solo works.. latest was "RUBY". (Worth the watch.)
ALSO, member HOSHI is vocalist, lead dancer and choreographer for Seventeen. He is also leader of the Performance team and part of 1 of the special units - BSS (BooSeokSoon).
Hoshi also does solo works. My favorite is "SPIDER"... his "dancing" in this is amazing.

svt have the title of "self producing idols" in korea as theyre known for producing and heavily participating in everything that they put out from choreography to producing the songs, writing lyrics, designing merch or sets, etc. they're also known as one of, if not tHE MOST, in sync group when it comes to their choreography.
because they have a wide range of members divided into different units, the possibilities for them are endless and theyre always churning out something new while staying genuine to the fans and themselves.

Please check out Seventeen more, most the comments have said it all, they are not kidding when they said they are self produced idols cause literally ever since predebut all their songs are all made by them (Mainly Woozi but still other members involve themselves here and there), the dance by performance unit as well as their own rap lyrics by hip hop unit. Aside being called under "Pledis" and "Hybe", people used to call them "EBS" which stands for Exo, Bts and Seventeen but we carats said SEVENTEEN IS SEVENTEEN so we used to call them SBS, which stands for Seventeen's Brand is Seventeen. Not under Pledis or Hype but Seventeen is Seventeen (of course Pledis did gave them an opportunity, love you Pledis btw)
