He's definitely capable of clearing any ultimate tho, seeing how he's played. When he's gonna clear it is another question..
yep he is capable, but regarding ultimate raids, its just that TEA is just too farfetched, UCoB ultimate is more realistically possible before end walker, he can theoretically if he drops his just chatting segment and completely drop new world in his alt stream, around 12-15 hours a day of streaming/playing ff14 and skipping each expansion raid and blast MSQ, then maybe a big effing maybe I'm talking, the cutscene are mind-blowingly long . Another thing to note, the problem is people want somewhat re-experience the story through asmond which is why people like zepla and xeno who have been around said its not possible to clear TEA.
he is doing damn fine doing completely different combat system, just need to learn more advanced rotation, like the vod of xeno explaining double weaving. So, yep agree he is capable clearing ultimate.

@@leonavid1228 Nah dude, he better trying for UwU than UCoB. UCoB is arguably the longest and hardest ultimate in the game while UwU is the easiest. While he access it faster, the progression time might be a whole lot longer than just him finishing MSQ for UwU.
There is just under 4 months till endwalker. That is honestly plenty of time for him to do what he needs to do even keeping his current pace. It's been about a month since he started and he has done almost all are content. And arr is large compared to other expansions. Not to mention a lot of his time in the past month has been him playing new games/content that was released, ashes alpha, new world beta, wow 9.1. Everyone is so stuck on the fact that based on how he plays the arr raid content at min Ilvl and how he has had to do tens of pulls in certain fights means he's gonna have a hell of a time in ultimates. What people don't realize is he is a new player, he doesn't know a lot of the mechanics yet, and a lot of them were his first time experiencing them. He's gonna get a lot more comfortable recognizing certain mechanics. Honestly I'd say the fight that will determine whether anyone can day for sure whether he is going to beat an ultimate by endwalker or not. Is thordan EX. That fight has a lot of mechanics in short time spans similar to ultimates, and some of the mechanics being just as deadly in ultimates resulting in an instant wipe. We probably won't see thordan ex though until mid to late August.
Yeah, you're right, he is capable. But people are still going to shit on him if for no other reason than because he's playing tank and tank is the easiest role.
Honestly even clearing Good King Moogle Mog on HARD is tough for a lot of new players, clearing him on Extreme with new players is actually a fucking achievement not just for Asmon but the people with him because that fight can easily devolve into a complete clusterfuck. I don't get why people are getting salty about him playing the old content on min ilevel, no echo mode. I'm just enjoying seeing it 'as it was'.
Because how dare he actually be good at a game. he is supposed to be scrub memelord trashman how dare he do things they can't do.
I'm so fucking happy that he and the other streamers are playing the fights on min ilvl no echo because party finder is now full of groups wanting to do the same.
Not sure how long it'll last, but these fights are still genuinely great and just instantly running them unsynced for the clear and to rush to mount grinding is missing out on some really great content imo.
@@Robert_D_Mercer Actually FF14 DOES give more freedom on Macros to the point where you can literally macro a DPS rotation (it's also used during crafting) because it has the 'wait' command.
However it's not as quick as doing it yourself and eventually you'll come 'unsynced' from your macro.
So it's only really useful for grinding stuff if you're already way above it (and crafting where DPS doesn't matter).

@@oddkhan1251 Big true. It's hard not to look like a negative person when the only game you've been covering for years consistently gets worse. People wanted WoW to get better for so long and held on to that hope but seeing disappointment after dissapointment gets to you. It's an abusive relationship, and people caught up in it look like bad people from the outside. But from the inside the people really just want their game to be good again.
I mean some are still toxic, if you watch the streams you'll see many getting kicked, messages deleted, and chat going into sub-mode.

WoW community is like the polar opposite, they like it when you criticize the game because it brings some good discussions and everyone agrees with the problems it has. @@Ashuowl The FF community constantly says how amazing their community is but a lot of this has to do with SE enforcing rules so hard that you can get banned for telling people their damage isn't very good. You can say "Oh that's toxic behavior they should get banned!" But that's pretty ridiculous. How are players even meant to know their damage is bad in this game with no damage meter or guide on how to do a rotation?
There's a lot of over-moderation done on FF side where they are too heavy handed. And if your player base is afraid of talking then you can't really say they are an amazing bunch of people.
Both communities have their own problems, I for one have not had an amazing experience in XIV. All the dungeon runs I have done not a single person talks, and no one waits for me to watch a cutscene. The cross world duty finder has the exact same issues that LFG has in retail wow
It boggles my mind that people are surprised when someone like asmon who has years of experience in mmos plays another one and is good at it. Then they proceed to get angry because he plays the game in a more efficient and faster way, like what did you expect him to run around like a headless chicken not knowing how to play the game?

I genuinely believe that most of those people are just doing it for the lulz. It's like not wanting to spoil, but spamming PepeHands nonetheless. It's pretty weird, what Twitch does to sentient human beings.
Most of the game's playerbase barely even plays, or they log in to afk / rp for 8 hours a day and unironically find dungeons hard content. They're incapable of admitting to themselves that they're trash players so they project that onto everyone else.
Didn’t Asmon use to genuinely be one of the higher tier players in WoW too just because of how much commitment he put into it
@@DelRae yeah he did, it began trailing off some after he decided to go serious about streaming. But that's honestly not surprising, spending a lot of effort and focus on communicating with your audience and providing an entertaining experience do force you to at least split your attention. It's going to impact your performance negatively in one way or another.
As a vet of FFXIV I would he is doing very well. As he said he is not the best (yet?) but does better than many sprout. His experience in WOW shows and helps him understand mechanics.
It’s funny, ffxiv is such a communal game that I don’t understand why some people are such dbags. I wish everyone success in the game and if they suck I hope they get better.
It's stupid how people want him to experience their pain when doing content on release, which is pretty much impossible now. Each of the job skills has changed so much ever since then, and it's hard to find a new people who hasnt done it now. Asmon already did his best to make it as hard as possible doing it with no Echo and min ilvl. I bet those ppl in chat who keep saying he's getting carried and shit never actually did old content with min ilvl and no echo.

If it could happen, one the best reaction to see would be if you can find the real person who actually voices the NPC and get their reaction to how FF14 players react to her in the game. It may be several women but that would be a most interesting reaction to an FF14 voice character and the NPC.
He has a tendency to miss mechanics, but that's to be expected. He's new, not incompetent. It more like he's being assisted and taught. I wouldn't call that being carried.

As a main tank in 14 who used to play dps im just like wait you mean I dont have to do those mechanics? Lol imma just get hit in the face and get my 10 sec dopamine high every 90 seconds. I have every job at cap and I main warrior and my good there is no better feeling than Inner Release. Especially while watching everyone else run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
If you are disapointed in the NW community , I don't even wanna know what you would think about the ESO community where people will literally fight you for hours if you say that you dislike the idea that 99% of mounts are in the crown store lol. It's like one of the worst communities in deniel I have ever seen.

As someone who... Does not understand furries, I'm actually more bothered by FFXIV's races solely because they're all just humans with their ears swapped out. Races like Tauren and Vulpera are hella furry, I agree, but at least they're actually a different species, you know?
Hyur are humans, Elezen are tall humans, lalafell are short humans, Miqo'te are humans with cat ears, Roegadyn are big humans with broken noses, Au ra are humans with a skin disease, Viera are tall humans with bunny ears.

Now, honest talk: Asmon would look fine if he went for the bald look. He wouldn't be as manly and badass as Xeno because the beard wouldn't be as majestic yet, and he's got pretty much no muscle, but he would still be fine.

You CANNOT carry in Ultimates. To some degree, in savages, maybe, but in ultimates, ALL 8 people NEED to be on top of their game, or its a bust.

YOU CANNOT CARRY PEOPLE IN ULTIMATES.
You can however turn what would normally be several months of 8 man progression into a few weeks of "Alright, we all know what to do, so we just call out what you (Asmon) need to do"
It is less about carrying the fight itself, and more so about carrying the progression.
Based off my experience in TEA, you definitely can get carried in ultimate. It’s pretty impressive what a shot caller along with cactbot can do for a severely underperforming person who half heartedly expects to beat the fight.

The only reason I am going to be a bit salty about is that statics request you have clear this savage raid and so I am indalen to join UCoB or UWU while Asmon probally gonna try to clear UCoB and UWU before he can clear this savage tier
@@ghostsdragon9222 you need to clear o4s for UCoB, O8S for UWU and E4S for TEA I believe so it probably makes sense they ask for a certain Savage raid clear but I can relate to the stuff like "must have cleared E12S to join" or stuff like that though
@@AraArandom I can get that with unlocking but I had a quick look and most statics ask for current savage raid. And basically it feels like a big fuck you for people who had to spend hour to hours of learning e9 to e12 and than learning about a month to even clear a Ultimate
@@ghostsdragon9222 Honestly it makes sense. Ultimates are really really hard, there is a ton of personal responsibility, and a metric ton of pressure to perform, on all roles.
You WANT to do the savage tier entirely first, to get acclimated to your job to a higher degree, to weather some personal responsibility and actual dps checks, and also to improve your reaction time while maintaining a rotation in the face of mechanics.
The savage tier isn't a requirement for ultimate, but you should yourself consider it one, because the jump from savage to ultimate is a big leap.

He's not getting carried in the fights. He's getting carried in the que and party finder. While the rest of us are at the mercy of the duty finder and party finder and the randos that come with them. Asmon just has to say he wants to do a run and he'll have people playing that duty for the next 48 hours just cuz he mentioned it.

Something that I think is missing in some of the dialogue around who did or didn't get "carried" is that somewhere along the line, every single new player enjoys the game with the support of more experienced players. That's not carrying, that's just...gameplay. It's a game. It's okay to be new, and it's okay to be learning. Newbie shaming is not a big part of the culture in FFXIV. In fact, the game is designed so that newbies are revered and appreciated - having a newbie in a PUG means bonus rewards, and a chance to enjoy mentoring and helping new players. What is so wrong with being new? Every single one of us was new once.
What was missing was a pop-up at the end of the echo video saying "Stygian Ember x1" lol

not defending people saying he got carried in everything or anything but 100% clearing any ultimate (or any content for that matter but especially ultimates) with 7 people who have already cleared the fight before, or hell even with like 4 people who've cleared the fight before is a million times easier than doing it with a group of freshies. This isn't some like "oh lets shit on asmond thing" or elitism thing, as an ultimate raider I can confirm its just a fact as i've seen it first hand myself. Ultimates by their nature demand perfect play from every player, so having as a base 7/8 players who you know will do their shit right from the get go makes it IMMENSELY easier as it removes the "group" part of the challenge, leaving only you to make sure you do your own specific roles correctly for everything to go well.

To be fair, Asmon is perfectly capable of clearing these, but streamer privilege does get him more willing and able players willing to stick around thru the wiping to get the clear and that's the real difference. He can't avoid this, such is his lot. He doesn't have to deal with the really bad players or the holier than thous that bail on the first wipe.
Which is better for him and the viewers. So a win-win in my book.
TBF there is streamer privilege but it doesn't necessarily mean carried just means the wait time is shorter with people willing to endure wipes. Doesn't mean they're not good

To be honest, i'm not worried he can clear ultimates, everyone can if they are willing/can to put the time and effort to do so, and he seems definitly willing to. But doing so before endwalker, at the pace he's having right now, will be in my opinion nearly impossible. If he does rush to lvl 80, then 100% he can do it before endwalker after learning his rotation and setting up some macros.
You can't be carried through an Ultimate. However I will say that playing with players who have cleared it before is like the difference between Henry Cavill training for Superman and Joe bloggs going to the gym with his friends. Pros who have cleared before will train you to clear it. At the same time if I had a choice I'd learn with a few pros in the group because it's just ALOT faster and I have a life too.
You know whenever FanFest is held in person again. It would be interesting to see Asmon attend it.
The question is simple. Could any other brand new player get the same treatment? Nope.
You have to give credit where it is due too. Asmond is a top level elite player. Of course he will do better no matter what the game is because he has decades of experience in the general MMO games.
He is getting carried , not in the sense that he is bad , he rarely misses a mechanic once he understands it...
but , if you were a random person in pubs , sometimes you'd wipe so much that you run out of time, because of randoms and new players. Someone has to take the leader role and explain the mechanics then , stupid-proof it as much as possible.
Nobody even Does Moogles on extreme, too much pain and no reward.
For instance in the Shiva fight , I had 2 tanks that Knew the mechanics and they still kept wiping the party by pointing the boss towards party whenever she would cast shards.
We finished 5 before time limit. Other times you finish in 2 tries.
In comparison JUST having Dominic Torreto alone makes 90% of encounters much easier than majority of the pubs, because this guy knows what he is doing.
So whenever they say he is getting carried realistically HE IS, it only depends how you Justify it.
Why should he put imaginary restraints on himself to do old content, he does it purely for the sentimental value ALREADY. So to be butthurt about him getting carried in some of these raids is like... stupid to say the least.
Yeah imo he's doing the best he can with that old content. In Endwalker he'll get to enjoy the day 1 wipefests with us, which are a foreign concept to WoW players where the fights are already solved during PTR.
Not being handicapped, is not the same thing as being carried. Just saying.
I don't get why people are thinking he's being carried, for where he is, he is doing a really good job and most of the time he's never told the mechanics of a fight that he's supposed to do, like when he got afflicted with Doom in World of Darkness or wiped to Good King Moggle Mog XII blessed be his reign kupo. He isn't going to know all of the mechanics before he plays a Dungeon, trial, or raid, and he doesn't want to ruin the fun by looking it up either before every fight.
In order to recognize Swedish Fish they should have drawn him building some IKEA stuff XD
Asmongold needs to experience the Final Fantasy XIV wedding, hopefully some will host a wedding ceremony
2:00 People will complain regardless, but there are a lot of mechanics that other roles have responsibility for that the MT doesn't have to touch, making it look like other roles are "carrying" Asmon just because they have mechanics that he, as MT, doesn't need to worry about.
Though there is always the one or two Rescue mages who drag Asmon into the right places to stand, like cleansing the Doom against Angra Maynu.

The truth of it is, when someone works at something and puts thousands of hours of their time and hundreds of their dollars into it, it is really painful to see someone run up and smash through all of it. Watching streamers and letsplayers is a real easy way to see that you are complete shit at any game you play and it can be really demoralizing, UNLESS you find a way to rationalise them being way better than you

Yeah, he is not gonna get to endwalker at his rate. I kinda do agree though that a lot of players are kinda carrying him though threw the fights. Sea Lion,l for example. He is a lvl 80 player. You can look up FF14 characters and see what lvl they are.
funny thing with ECHO shv kill was they didnt loot the boss for over 40 mins I was watching it live and the guys just walked away . Fragment DH so cracked man the way he was jumping onto the platforms before they even spawned at one stage he dashed ( Fel Rush ) and jumped backwards ( Vengeful Retreat ) when he had pool on him cause he had no space unbelievable

whoever said get carried in min ilvl with no echo.
probably only do coils unsync with 530 gears with echo. because back before even HW and the gear was like 90-130 ilvl. IT WAS BRUTAL and even you have 1 person overgear .... it is still a pain in the A** because if 1 person fked up, there will be a chance of wipe.
Hair growth stuffs: omega fish oil pills/fish. Leafy greens spinach is extra good(not cooked) and eggs. You also need to be in sunlight for 30min to an hour minimum to be able for your body to properly process those vitamines for your hair and you to be healthy. Gl.
And personal hygiene.
Asmon has been doing pretty well in his raids/trials/etc. The only thing I think people have issues with is theres a lot of people who do actually fully understand what is going on and having a reliable people that go with him to everything does make it much easier. Though there isn't really anything Asmon can do about it. He will always be flooded by people who are playing on an alt or sliding up into his party finder groups. There is no possible way for him to filter out people who actually are new vs people who are doing their best to get e-famous. So yeah, chances are he may have a much easier time grinding out ultimates with a crew of people willing to bust their asses and not abandon at the first sign of trouble. That isn't Asmons fault at all.
Look at it from his perspective. He is cursed in that everything he does he won't be sure if it was the genuine experience or just an easy slide through something. Less satisfaction. Less of those "we finally got it" moments. Instead of things being too hard due to how PUG shit works in ff14 things may be a bit easier on him. Both experiences are hell and cursed. I personally would prefer things to be harder than easier so I do not envy him at all. Neither should all of these people complaining.
