"Climate should always have buttons". Amen to that. And absolutely agree about all the other wheels etc. Why change things that work so well?
Button fan as well here - although the one to level the volume only felt weird at the first time using it with any other finger than the thumb. Holding the rail on the right side with all fingers and then using the button with the thumb made it quickly very comfortable.

I really had to laugh when it came to that audio-"button" whatsoever. I´m completely with you - what is that? In my 2018 A5 there is such a nice looking knob. Easy to reach, good feeling for each snap when turning it and even with a joystick function to switch the tunes - just perfect. But no, somebody needed to re-re-re-invent it. I think this is called over-engineering...
And the throttle response in D is just ridiculous nowadays. A few weeks ago I was driving the Cupra Formentor and just couldn´t believe it. There is a delay of almost two seconds, when you want to accelerate from a standstill. This makes it almost impossible to hit a gap when turning or in a roundabout - you would have to accelerate even before you see it.

How well does it go around corners & bends? Probably not much different to the previous model as the only main difference is a - 15mm suspension ride height
Je hebt wel vergeten de golf 8 R te vermelden. Die auto hoort ook in de hothatch klasse met vierwielaandrijving.
The burble at 15:30 is the engine. The engine injects a little extra fuel at times specifically to artificially make the sound. No performance benefit, uses a tiny bit of extra fuel if you care about it, but it's more about the experience

Well, I like the interior of the predecessor more. Now it seems to be less quality and more cheaper plastic.
Apart the fancy headlights, the bodywork is well done instead.

I agree with you there, I currently have a 8v facelift. It’s hard to find any faults with it at all, especially with it being a 3 door so it doesn’t have the particle filter so in turn actually makes a noise. I’ve driven a 8y but not entirely sold on them as of yet, might have to go for a golf r for the first time :/
that volume control touch pad is for your partner, you can direct control it on steering wheel way convenient
You will have to add the new VW Golf R to that little top hot hatch class. It matches this S3 in almost all specs and is a bit cheaper to boot

I don't know why car reviewers always denigrate the Haldex system? It's only in awd when it needs it?? Well if it doesn't need it at all the time why have it all the time? Constant 4wd wears out tyres prematurely and saps power through the drive train.

It just needs a tune and a downpipe. SHAME on those front headlights with that piece of headlight going down..it would be way better without it. Great car overall (best interior in its class).
That's a no from me, the interior quality is worse than last generation. The only thing it achieves is looking better which isn't enough.
I think this generation the 1-series has the best interior quality. The Merc would've been the best if it weren't for that cheap ass piano black plastic near the vents.

As an s3 8v fl Pre opf owner , i am not impressed by the Performance this new model offers when comparing to my car or a golf 8R , the looks and the interior are really nice tho! Hopefully the RS3 will solve this performance part too.
The RS3 Definitely wont solve the price part though :P They make the consumer more hungry for a car by delivering less of a car and at higher a price..
@@alexkostoff6587 Gotta agree that prices are absolutely absurd. I've been looking for some 1 year old used S3 and RS3 and especially the latter are priced so absurdly. I can get a decent S5 for the price of the RS3 and there are also lots of heavily overpriced S3's around.
And it's only going to get worse with this new S3 and RS3 gen as they always increase base prices of the cars AND for extra features.
@@Jousten16 as someone considering an RS3 on the second hand market, the price is indeed fucking absurd for what the car offers. The only reason it's holding its value like that is because it's the only car with a 5cyl engine I reckon. 40k for a 4-year-old exemplar is ridiculous, that's BMW M4 money.

Finally nice interior in the A3. The interior was most important reason i didn't want it before. The round air vents where so ugly in older models.
Does the Sports Seat option finally have power operation? Audi charged $1450 for sports seats and removed the power operation over the standard seats on my 2018 S3.

When I learnt to drive, about 100 years ago, I was taught to feed the wheel through the hands as they don't move position. Seems that no longer applies as everyone crosses their arms now

Instead of squatting, why not take the camera off your head for the outside shots of the car. It's way too elevated to get a good view of the car. Other than that, love your videos
Maybe soft engine cover for protection against pedestrians? Volvo uses this as well for that purpose
Yeah i also enjoy driving around with the hood open, so the engine gets more cooling and also just for the flex. Good to know that someones head is going to be safed by the soft engine cover

The new steering wheel which is bigger then from the old one is not a good success. All the guys I know don't like the new wheel (compared to the old one). And my words on the missing knop for volume regulation :D

Also maybe stop talking when you do the autobahn pulls to top speed? You talk a lot and sometimes it's nice to just hear and see the car drive. Also a bit safer, you will be more concentrated and keep 2 hands on the wheel 😉

Cars built after the new emissions standarts just sound awfully
Not only that, but you can also feel that those engines are not behaving as they should. The turbo technology is pretty much spot on now, but the restrictive exhausts and intakes take away the response and emotion.
I feel like speakers are making it sound like 5 cyl
