Lived in Minneapolis my whole life, been to VF a handful of times...NEVER went on the Wild Thing and never will. As much as I love amusement parks and stuff, im not much of a ride person
I love valley fair, I’ve been so many times but never managed to gather the courage to go on wild thing. If anyone has some words of encouragement or how it’s their favorite ride there or if a different ride is scarier, please tell me! I’ve been on most of the coasters except for steel venom and wild thing
@@josie.spamzzz The most nerve wracking part is going up. After that you're having too much fun to even care. The ride itself is more exhilarating than scary. You feel like you are floating. The whole thing is VERY smooth which is to be expected with a steel coaster and you rarely if ever jostle around - provided you don't sit in the very back. I am assuming the front might be a bit too intense for first timers so I'd recommend sitting 2-3 cars back. Somewhere in between the very front and middle. I always tell people who are nervous to go and look at the exit and watch everyone getting off and see if you see anyone who is terrified, crying, etc. because it doesn't happen. After the first drop, the most intense part of the ride is at the bottom of the initial hill because you go back up and get a nice zero G feeling (as in floating) for a good 2-3 seconds. Honestly after that it's a regular roller coaster that's no more intense than multiple other rides at VF. Just gotta get through the initial drop and zero G at the bottom of the hill. It'll be over before you know it and you'll want to get back on. My son was terrified to go on it for almost the entire first season we were passholders when he was 11-12 but he finally did it and said he didn't know what took him so long and now it's his favorite ride there. Like I said - the scariest part is going up the initial hill because it's really big. The ride itself is so smooth there's really not scary parts. If you do try it, enjoy!
This ride used to be called "The Corkscrew" and it was at Rocky Point Park in Warwick Rhode Island. The original ride had a loop after the first drop followed by a Corkscrew turn. It was amazing!
My dad had a headache for a week after we went here. I might've pressured him to go on this ride... But he's okay now! It was so fun! I hope I can come back soon! Edit: also, it was raining so I didn't get to see my photo. But everything else about it was amazing! Just don't go while it's raining..
Been a passholder at VF for several years and have ridden it more times than I can count. First drop still always gets me.
I’m more scared of the lidt

I did it today, 08.13.2022. I'm 47 years old. Survived.
This was my friend's first ride ever. She said her other friends told her it wasn't that bad.
