This was a lifesaver! My water pump went out two hours from home, no shops had space. A quick Uber to OReillys and 45 minutes later I'm back on the road.

@@isaacmagovero296Good luck! It's super simple. The one thing that I'd watch for is making sure not to drop the bolts for the water pump. I spent most of my time hunting through the engine bay for one that got away from me.

119,000 miles on my 2018 Silverado and the pump was spraying coolant down the highway on a Friday night

Just finished the WP on a 2015 Yukon. Radiator train valve (plastic with wings) is only accessible top side. Pretty hard to get to. I have one comment on gasket- if it’s not lined up precisely the bolts won’t go back on. I found using a very little bit of Vaseline between gasket and mating surface on a few spots helped a lot with alignment.

I'm sure you've gotten your answer via experience by now, but just in case... Water pumps are usually designed to leak when they go bad. It gets your attention BEFORE overheating. Bad bearings can break down and cause enough friction for the belt to start slipping and squealing.
