Boris Johnson has said "his job is to serve the people" as he becomes the UK's new prime minister.
Speaking outside Downing Street after accepting The Queen's invitation to form a government, he said he wanted to "change the country for the better". He said the UK would leave the EU on 31 October "no ifs, no buts", adding: "The buck stops with me."
Mr Johnson took over after Theresa May handed in her resignation to the Queen a short time ago. The new PM will then begin putting together his cabinet - a number of Mrs May's senior ministers have already resigned, having said they could not serve under him.
As she relinquished power after three years, Mrs May said being prime minister had been "the greatest honour" and wished her successor well.

I liked everything he SAID, especially the promise of more Police on the streets, we desperately need that, especially in certain parts of London, that needs to be also a top priority, cutting Police numbers has been a totally insane and costly blunder on the part of this government, especially with all the tension that Brexit has caused, there needs to be MORE Police on the streets, not less, we can all see the results of less Police on the streets, but I want to see if Boris really does do this and everything else he has promised.
Great speeches are one thing. DELIVERING it is another, we've had a lot of talk over the last few years and like a lot of people, talk isn't enough for me anymore, no matter how good it sounds, I want to see the walk. If he does deliver, then I will sing his praises no end, I'm sure we all will.
For what it's worth, I like him as a person, he is very likable, but liking a PM is not the same as believing they are a great PM, like means nothing unless they can deliver, I'd much rather have a PM that I don't like who gets things sorted than one that's likable but completely fails to deliver, and, so far, they have ALL failed to deliver!

Asia is the future area rising. Western countries are facing tough competition they need to master. It's like every big empire having it's peak and going down at some point in history. How will we European countries as small economies deal with e.g. China? Do you think a country of only 100 million people has any negotiation power facing a country of over a billion people? In this time we would need stability among Western countries to balance the developments in the world. I'm really scared if I think about the future of this area.

Can you not hear every theiving lie exiting Alexander Boris Peffel Johnson's rebel Tory mouth. How is a trillion pound debtor to fund all his lip licking day dreams. Free trade at ports? Are you off your trolly? Since the Tories introduced Britian in to the EEC under Ted Heath in the seventies replacing EFTA (European Free Trade Association) they took taxes for the EEC but never delievered on free trade. He means free trade after you paid your taxes or after importers have paid their taxes. Tories murdered far more people around the world for all the free trade than the NAZIs. Look at all their Zionist wars since the Zionist Leadership of Benjamin Disraeli was three times prime Minister. Boer wars, Zulu wars, Sudan wars, Indian wars, Afghan wars. What was their purpose in their 1907 Triple Entent (Britian, France and Tsarist Russia) against the Central European Powers. An act intentionally 'AGAINST'. If he isn't going to employ Socialistic Nationalistic enforced taxation (forced labour) methods then how is he to achive any improvement or his lip licking fantasy dreams? They are already a disaster (oweing their tril'ion pound debt). So any dreams he spins are to be paid for by the supposed tax payer as they have already strated losing British money.

Can't he be judged on his political credentials before being appointed?

I wished Theresa May had given a speech like this. With such passion, energy and charisma. Compared to B J, May's speech was pretty boring with little or awkward body language.

@THE TWO FINGERED BRUTE I like him to. I've voted Torry all my life but this is an age when you need to ask these questions. Even if it was tongue in cheek there is no point in blindly believing everything .
