Your scanning needs work.
Pierce is the angle of a scan; how focussed it is. At 0%, it is a full 360 scan. As you scroll it up, it more accurately marks the *actual* location of the thing you are scanning. This is why it will move about at higher settings. Scroll up once to 50, and it gets more accurate. Up again and th marker movs once more, and so on.
Once you get the multiple markers without scattered dots, those are the *actual* items, instead of just a sensor echo.
Fly towards them, aiming for slightly under the actual marker itself. When the signal (which denotes distance) gets to 85%+, slow down a lot, and slowly creep forward, scanning again at 0% pierce to find the actual panels.
This works with *anything* you scan, whether mining or salvage. If you know the signature numbers, it will even tell you what it is. You are correct that 2000 is a panel, making any multiples of 2000 *also* panels... and how many of them. 10000 is of course 5 panels. It dosn't tell you their size, just numbers.

@@xavierrecipon6053 want a simpler version. use 0% scan until 4km away from your intended POI then hit it with 88% pierce scan and youll get the markers then you head for them while watching your signal strength and repinging at 0%
Hopefully the tools abuse it, and we get another 600+ accounts sent on vacation. Maybe then the RMC market won't be so abysmal.

@kabutopz Exactly. I recently started doing Cargo thinking it might be a little more tolerable and it's always a 5 to 10 or more min wait for a refresh. So far going to Orison has been the most tolerable but even then it can get long sitting around to sell.

Hellllz ya I would love that. I would golf clap for the people that run from here and do this exploit only to get banned for a few months. that would rock. Let's see if CIG actually cares or if they were just full of it.

Brother i know this was done with good intentions and you are not the only one to do a video about but you should do the video sent to Council but not uploaded from your main account, but from another account ! This will probably be used to abuse the markets again !😮 Since i sell my RMCs always to scrape yards i had no idea and its not possible to reproduce it in that places ! 👌💯 o7
This was probably part of the original duplication exploit. And this is why you need scope testing. Had CIG a better understanding of the error they could have fixed it properly. It is important to repeat these errors as many ways as possible to understand what else is effected and report that to CIG as well. Of course, if CIG insist on punishing testers for testing then let them figure it out on their own.
They aren't punishing testers. Plenty of people tested and abused the last exploit and only 600 were banned. Likely only accounts were banned that were linked to those auec for $$ punks.
thanks for bringing us the ticket; i have run into this issue too so i upvoted and also filed the reproduced thing; my friend told me that it was an exploit and i was scared to even fly my vulture after CiG did all the banning.
For me, something like ‘double cargo’ is okay. It’s part of the fun and kind of compensates for glitches when I lose all my cargo or depot because my ship was blown up in the hangar for no reason. But it’s only my opinion. 😊
if you can douplicate the exploit, document it record and create an issue council ticket it will be hidden for exploits

Thank you for showing how the scanner works; the little tip about the "strength" actually being "distance" made the penny drop for me in how to find the plates before i had no idea and i could search for them for an hour and not find them. Now I am finding them every time.
I was salvaging last night in my vulture. Several people were hunting me. Got killed once. This must be what they were thinking I was doing. I hope they fix this crap. I really hate this stuff.
Same here, but I I got rammed so hard my shp was totally destroyed, they weren't red (3 of them) I get the impression they were the players exploiting this and just didn't want me there. I should have gone back. I only know I rammed by a cutlass and there were 2 others.
Guys, remember to never dock a very damaged Vulture. If its bad damage, just leave it there and dont bother with cargo.

its still less auec/hour then just doing vhrt's or ert's with all the running back and forth, not worth a risk for a ban at all

I came upon this bug some time ago. I found it weird that when I went out with my Vulture and started scrapping, the filler station was always almost full. I was thinking I just forgot to eject the materials the day before because my salvaging runs are at night before I go to bed.
This weekend I made some friends becoming a crew for a Reclaimer and we found out we can scrape a ship, fracture it, and scrape it again for double RMC.

See my reclaimer has been showing me a lot of parts of ships I'm scrapping are 0CSCU of scrap. I assumed if I did it and logged back on it was just giving me the rmc that it was glitching before. So I don't think I've been doing this accidently but that's also an issue I'm having.
Spending a hour reclaiming a soft dead reclaimer and 90% of it is 0 cscu, is a pain in the ass. It is nice to get that back later
this has been one reason i never double fill my Vulture. first time i doubled up and had this happen, i immediately reclaimed the ship rather than keep selling
I accidently duped a load in a reclaimer last patch, terminal would've allowed me to sell it again but there was no physical boxes in the ship. Parked it and pulled a stealth fighter to go kill dupers immediately. Got two that session, looking like I'll have to start being a "griefer" wherever it's sold again... was hoping to enjoy the salvaging again tbh
"Reported, please up vote report so CIG can fix". Dupe glitch video done right. Haven't tried it myself, but I think anyone who tried this once, reported, and didn't just turn it into their source of income, ought to get to keep the auec. Think of it as payment for playtesting this particular issue.
Be cool if we could get paid for finding other issues too, paid in auec is OK.
this bug has been in game for at least a month now and has been reported but nothing was done
well done Kabutopz, keep it up and dont worry about the haters, they're just mad that the exploit is getting exposed.
At least with this exploit you have to run back and forth which takes plenty of time. You have to grind it to make millions and of course it is without risk. Hopefully it is fixed soon. The original 30k salvage missions where you just open the cargo and move 32scu boxes of maze, etc. into your ship and sell for several millions with little effort was so much more lucrative. Also the 250k HH salvage missions felt more like an exploit than this and that was intended by CIG.
People talking about wait for another ban wave is yet to understand there is always a money exploit and people will use it because the game is in alpha so if they keep banning they wont have a player base for long to test things.
Again....sigh, now i know why it's almost impossible to sell RMCO

I knew something was up yesterday when I couldn't sell my RNC due to no need.
Was gonna take the Vulture out but guess I'll keep it parked. Once this becomes a more well known problem it'll be Vulture hunting season just like it was kill C2's on sight with the last RMC dupe.
dont get me wrong it is an exploit but its very small compared to the last one i mean people we re getting 12 mil auec in 1 run with the c2 this is nothing i mean u can get more money doing lets say vaughn missions so not a lot of people are going to do it 150k per run is change

I don't have the patience to do these dublication bug runs multiple times. Maybe once or twice but I'd prefer to just scrape hulls and fill my C1.
so now CIG will think that all of us who got it accidentally are "exploiting"...
no man.. they focus on people who do it non stop and especially those they know monetize for real world cash.. just dont push your luck with it
they ban the people duping into the very high money end...there were people that duped last time that didnt get a ban. I just ran the vulture. I filled the buffer, emptied it and filled it up again like a normal run. Went and sold, recalled the ship emptied the buffer and sold the second load. When leaving again my buffer wasnt full. I'm guessing hitting mining mode causes it? You wont get a ban for playing the game. You get a ban when they see you banking just to bank. Then its obvious lol. Dont worry

the problem is this bug shows up during regular game play using the vulture; and it's pretty random sometimes it happens sometimes not; sometimes you get 13SCU sometimes you get only 6; and the things i've tried to avoid getting the bug have all failed.
Ist lost 1.7 millions due to a bug in the freelancer max, where I couldn't get up anymore from bed, and also bed logoff left me rotting in bed.
Somehow a bug giving me back my 1.7 million sounds rather fair.
But don't want to get banned

It's one thing to do this and then report it to CIG. But why on EARTH are you showing everyone how to do this on CZcams? This video is incredibly stupid.
If you were an honest person you would delete the video immediately, you are not doing any favor to anyone showing this, on the contrary .... you are spreading the exploit and the more people know the worse, you are a bad youtuber that is clear to all of us.
so how come other youtubers are able to make vids like this and get praise? the other crazy part is i actually left out a crucial part to it. so anyone that tries to recreate it will fail and waste their time. i don’t know why i am receiving so much hate for this.
