- It's a grand tourer built by BMW from 1990 to 1999 powered by either a V8 or V12 engine. With the pop up headlights, smooth exterior styling and powerful performance it was a revolutionary design for BMW in the 90's.
Held at the Taj Baring in Maidstone, Kent on August 23rd.
Organiser Sarwar Hussain got together young and old folks from the 'forgotten' BMW community. Every type of model produced was on show, some owning theirs for 4 months and others for 14 years. Enthusiasts from all over the UK turned up and we spoke to a few to see why they love the BMW E31.

I got an 850CSİ My self in greece.....
My father bought one second hand in the mid 90's. Black paint, black leather. I was 18 at the time and was lucky enough to drive it when I wanted too. That car was a beauty and had something special. It still is a wonderful car.... Great meeting you folks!
What a great community. I have dreamed of getting a e31 since I was 5 in 1989. My dad had one in the mid 1990s, a brilliant red 1992 850i. I hope I’ll be allowed to buy one, one day.

1991 e31 brakes locking up as the car warms up when i start car says brake assist inactive on display cars sits and cools of brakes work good untill they heat up again start dragging again help anyone nice video

Who can help me with my E31
I have the sunroof leak and water in the footwell
You will find either the sunroof seal has perished £95 ouch on eBay, or could be the drain plugs are blocked over time. Piece of stiff garden wire in each corner with sunroof fully open and find the drain away hole. Good thread and shove with the wire all the way jiggling should see the old leaves etc cleared. Front ones sit just behind wheel arch cover, think rears the same. Water bottle and a gentle pour into the corner should see a puddle down by the front wheel. Failing that it’s a part headlining off jobby, sunvisors , grab handle and where the drain plugs are sometimes the plastic comes off the cassette fitting and the water runs down the A pillar into the footwell. Be careful to make sure it’s fixed ASAP as precious and expensive various modules lie around the areas the water will travel before making a lovely puddle in your footwell. Garden wire did sort mine, give it a go.
Sunroof seal is common, sunroof lid needs to be removed, seal removed. There most likely will be rust around seal so that will need removing them lid needs to be re sprayed.
