Been doing it for 25 years and I never got a great explanation on why a v bead is better. I understand they say it sits down into it better but if you are setting the windshield into the urethane and pushing it in or sucking it in I’ve gotta say with ten of thousands as my test I don’t see where a v bead is any better than a round bead, I’ve showed people before by laying a bead both ways and sandwiching them between two pieces of clear glass so people can see the bead from both side. If windshield gets set correctly and I know there will be all kinds of people, none of which have installed as many as myself and I can say very confidently if your prep work is done correctly that it really don’t matter on most of the windshields, there are a few that the v bead can well with on building the bead up a little higher without using to much urethane in General. A Dw1440 and dw1441 come to mind cause I high bead helps when setting the windshield into the glue and not pushing the molding off the glass.
