There was also a canceled CD-i Mario game called “Mario Takes America” where during development they considered replacing Mario with Sonic before it was completely scrapped. So there almost was a Sonic CD-i game, though it was only briefly considered, they never actually secured the licensing.

I love how you even added the animation error of Knuckles having green eyes in this shot. The attention to detail is astounding, but I expected no less.
I'd have just corrected the error and turned them back to purple. Don't hate me. 😅

Whilst i'm not personally a fan of the hands (they're a little too big for my tastes, though I understand why they are), I'd say this came out pretty damn good overall!
Yeah. The reason they’re so big is because I was tracing Eggman’s. I don’t think it looks so great either, but it’s what made the most sense.

Why is Knuckle's eyes green, it's purple 😂
I made them the wrong color on purpose. His eyes were mistakenly colored green in the original Sonic X clip that this is parodying.
