I'm not an avid or even really good mentalist or magician by any means but I'm starting out with closeup/parlor card and coin tricks and trying to incorporate your tutorials (convincing control, ace-du-tres, etc...) into my mini performances (to family and friends) and i find that you and many others like Chris Ramsay and Alex Pandrea are really big inspirations.
Mentalism is really cool shit imo and psychology and brain stuff is my favourite thing so I've been watching your videos more than ever.

When we show the scribbled art can we say that these were your thoughts when i started drawing it. State the fact that there are millions of thoughts on your mind while you were thinking of the card. This is not a joke and i can prove it. Let me just burn all the other thoughts from this image and then bring the lighter and tada.

I had my sons write a thought on a billet, than said I was going to burn it to read the smoke, but I changed my mind above the fire and said I better not do this inside the house, so I’ll just try to read it without the smoke, I knew the word by then and it had also disappeared, so I divined the word and asked them to read what they wrote, and they opened and found that it was gone, I accused them of never having written anything, and they swore they wrote what i had guessed, I’m thinking of adding ash to arm to do my final reveal... but haven’t tried it yet, Your word moved from the paper to my arm.

I think I'll vary it, instead of the random scribbles maybe draw a house with the disappearing ink and have a pointer to the mailbox, then when drawing with the real ink, draw a mailbox with a picked number on it, use the flame to 'zoom in'.
OR maybe even trace over some of the scribbles with the real ink so it looks like the ink vanishes into the prediction.

This came as a positive surprise to me because other secret ingredients you suggest (e.g. Easy Tack repositionable adhesive) are nowhere to be found and not even deliverable by amazon. I imagine that it would make up for an amazing effect to draw extra pips on a playing card with this thermosensitive ink...

Hey Spidey congrats for your great channel! I have an idea I'd like to suggest, came up to my mind while watching this tutorial: in your presentation and storytelling, why don't you just justify the scribble this way? so that you
    1) first try to read your mind and draw your guess,
    2) then say something like "I am sorry I think i can't read your mind this time, It usually works...I am so sorry"
    3) and as a consequence of being ashamed, at that moment you make the action of the scribble, as you want to trash your wrong guess and you put the paper on the table, clearly showing the scribble.
    4) then you crample it and give it to the spectator, saying something like " well you can keep it tight in your hand as a proof that magicians sometimes fail too.."
    5) and continue "but wait, what was the right guess?" and he goes "27!" and you say.... "27? Check it!" He opens his fist, unflod the paper and... "TA-DAH!!!!!". BUT there is still the scribble... [laugh reaction]
    6) so you say "ahah, but it would be cool, wouldn't be?
    7) and then you go with the epic moment of the fire reveal!
i think it would be more epic and more comedy this way, and you can play around a lot with the failure moment and the magic reveal, while the piece of paper is in the fist of the spectator...
    Cheers buddy! xxx

    @johnnyfearlesszrx Před 3 lety +1

Thanks for yet another very cool video Spidey.
I should have subscribed sooner but now I have clicked it.
Just a thought, if you ask the person to choose something specific, like a two digit number or two letters, you could use the eraser pen to write several numbers on top of each other at the preparation stage. Then when you write your prediction over the top it will be hidden among the other numbers instead of over a scribble.
This way the number can be written normally instead of dotted and it can be closely examined, so it can be revealed close up and held by the person, as long as both pens line and colour are a close enough match.
You will have several numbers visible, so can say "Wow I did it, your number is there 'flick'..... what, you can't see it? Ok let me help you out with this magic flame", (pause for effect).
Just a possible variation for thought, your trick was awesome.
P.S. I'm just a casual home dabbler, not a magician.
I'm going to practice that card slide to the bottom, very slick. Many thanks.

As you pretend to scribble , say "a fog bank is moving into your clear sky...more fog has come and so on" When you show the spectator the paper all scribbled ..say" I need the sun to burn off this fog!" Produce lighter and say "here's the sun" and burn off scribble. Also I found a ballpoint pen of the same color as the frixion and I dont have to write segmented as you do on your tutorial.

SpideyHypnosis yes indeed ... i always try to mix your tricks and repeat them over and over again ... because of you in this pandemic i started to learn and love magic ... i will always be grateful to you for that ... for the joker trick i’m using another way to cull the forcing card 🤗 control the card to the bottom of the deck and as i spread the cards and tell the person to take the joker and point to it with the cards (missdirection 🤣) ... i use the middle&ring finger to push the card from the bottom into the needed position 🤪 ... i always try to see an easier way ... wanted to make a short video to show you but was shy ☺️ and probably others did it 🤷‍♂️

My daughter did use these pens for years in school. I never did know that heat did the trick. 😃 super. Great trick. The heat part makes it fantastic. I hope don’t burn the place down. 😀 🔥

This pen first came out as part of what i believe was called a rocket pad or something similar. The concept was that you could use the pen to fill the pad with doodles notes or whatever, then microwave the pad to erase it and use it all over again.
