  • Tyler Rogahn, professor at PowerWash Academy, takes you through the ins and outs of a pre-house wash walk around and how to prevent damage form a house wash. These soft washing tips can help with any job.
    When power washing or soft washing a house, it's important to search for furniture, plants, and landscaping that may be hurt by your chemicals or pressure. Bleach, or sodium hypochlorite, is often the main chemical used to wash roofs, and can kill plants and discolor furniture.

    Lots of good advice! I like the idea he mentioned he got a small piece of gutter or metal roof to see how it would react with the house wash mix. Another major concern is hose management. Not dragging hose over plants. Great video

    With the bamboo being as flexible as it is, you could throw a strap around a few of them, lightly tighten it to bring it away from the home a little bit...I have never seen anything like this or if it would work, just thinking outside the box lol...Great content! Thanks for learning us!

    Mike, you are the best teacher on CZcams. Also I like Mr. Doug Rutgers down in Texas. Between the both of you I have really learned alot. I started washing in 1992 and it's been a on again off again job for me when I move state to state with the work my wife does. With that being said no matter how long you have been doing this kind of work you can always learn something new. This industry challenges and improves year after year. Thank you Mike for everything you do. Would love to meet you and talk to you one day

    What are you guys using to store damage photos? Do you keep them for a week then delete or is the work phone full of photos?

  • @fpplsoftwashpressurewashin8757

    So wouldn't you consider using a Ph balancing agent in your rinse or using an agent halt prior to applying the bleach wash?

    What troubles me is that the rinsed metals take a few minutes to dry don’t they ? How much time do you have to put chemical? A few minutes?

    These jobs you either sub out or price it so high that you would be a fool not to do it. Honestly I would just sub it out for a finders fee. It's a rare job and it's not worth the risk.

    Do you find that you'd charge extra to soft wash someones house, if its been like 20 years since they've cleaned it and it's really bad. I've heard people charging .20-.30cents a square foot for soft washing a house, but that's just spraying chemical on it, then rinsing off. Some of these houses in east texas are like ridiculous man, the bottom 4ft of them are black/green/and orange with mold and iron ore rust. Some area's i have to spray straight bleach with chemical sprayer, let sit, then scrub with a brush, rinse it off, then repeat the process.

    • @Powerwash
      @Powerwash  Před 2 lety +1

      I definitely would. With more build up means more chemical and more time. That has to be considered when quoting a job.

  • @azzblasterlive6710
    @azzblasterlive6710 Před 2 lety +2

    Why not just wash everything with hot water instead of using chemicals? Would be less of a headache no?

    • @Powerwash
      @Powerwash  Před 2 lety

      Hot water can enhance the cleaning process. It is best for removing oils and greases. For house washing it's not the best option because of the amount of time it would add to the job. And you will still want to have a house wash mix to kill the algae.

    Hey there guys, from where I’m from the strongest SH we can get is 5% can I just use the whole 5liters without water to soft wash a house. Much appreciated. I’m from Asia btw.

    • @Powerwash
      @Powerwash  Před 2 lety +1

      A 5% mix is still pretty high for most peoples standards. Contractors tend to use anywhere from a 1-3% percent mix. To get this as desired I would recommend mixing about half water and half SH. And then mix it with some surfactant (soap) for cleaning purposes. The best way to apply it is either though a pump up sprayer or through a diaphragm pump (chemical sprayer). If you do not have these option available we would recommend running straight 5% SH with surfactant in a bucket for an X-Jet. These options are setup for the highest chemical draw possible. How fast after getting chemical on plants do you have to rinse it off? Is a job like this even possible without a trailer? How would you do this with a single 4gpm machine? And how is it possible if you have to rinse the plant constantly? Is it possible or is this a job a smaller beginner contractor has to decline? Also is this job doable alone?

    • @Powerwash
      @Powerwash  Před 2 lety

      You want to rinse them off pretty quick. I would say within 5 minuets if the plants are more sensitive with very soft leaves and pedals. For the set up you are describing it would probably be best to contract this out to another contractor, give him a cut of the job and learn from them. I would definitely recommend at least 2 people for a job like this.

    Big house but letting weeds grow right up to the walls and the fence with dirt stains and vines growing all over it could look so much better.

  • @daviddennison5649
    @daviddennison5649 Před 3 lety

    If you would switch to Our solutions. You won't have to worry about all of those plants and you could just spray.
    Greenflow & Clenz-O chemical products are eco friendly and will not kill the plant's. Hope to hear from you.
