Awesome video! With a couple tweaks, this video should be getting thousands of views!
- Add some background music. CZcams has a massive library of free music, and some gentle jazz or something helps keep the listener engaged with the video (even if they aren't consciously aware of it). I listened to this while I was working and it was very relaxing; with your style, calm music would add a nice additional layer.
- Keep the intro to 10 seconds or less. Like a novel, the hook needs to be short and direct. "In this video, we'll be discussing the history of football, football jargon, competition formats, popular clubs, and more. You won't be a clueless American by the end!" Bam, immediately interested and I know what I'll get if I keep watching.
- You don't need to talk about what you're not going to talk about (formations, strategies, etc). I also understand your disclaimer about fifa corruption, but people can find your opinions on Twitter if they're really interested. For all other viewers, it will hurt retention
- Don't admit any wrongdoings before we've even had a chance to watch! Your video was excellent, I wouldn't have noticed any lazy editing if you hadn't explicitly mentioned it. If someone does call you out on it, that's the time to say "thanks for the feedback, I was trying to get this out before the tournament ended, and it might have been rushed towards the end." In this instance though, I don't think anyone would have called you out on it.
- You could even re-upload the majority of this video (with the references to the ongoing world cup removed) and it could be a banger. A brief intro, some soothing music, and you've got a fantastic video on your hands!
