This was intended to be for the anniversary, but time constraints really led to it being delayed, by a lot. It was also pushed to be an April Fool's video, but that obviously wasn't done too...
Do I regret making this? Yes, because this wasted so much energy than anything else possible, pushed my old PC's limits to the extreme, and ultimately will likely not do as well as something else like say every Fatalis video we do...
...But hey, it matters not how well it will do, at least not entirely, I just wanted to make something to celebrate a videogame series I love.
This was animated by both of us, Tea and GBC, since I tried to solo this project and time spent on it was lacking.

I'd say 3rd or 4th gen rather, first gen was also more muted, probably partly because of the PS2 Hardware

He spotted one with a Creature that looked like a mix of a Snake and Crocodile. And a Man holding a big sword.
A new Hunter was born the very same evening.
14 years.... That's how long I spent my life playing this game. I'm 24 years old and I feel like it was yesterday.
I never played the first game, yet the feeling of nostalgia is still present. Monster hunter might be the biggest reason of who I am today. It's not just a game. It's a lifestyle.
Thank you, Monster hunter. Thank you, Capcom. For making this Game.

Same thing bro, I been hunting for years now, and I cannot stop because then, who would kick my palicos in monster hunter 4U?, who would pet them in rise?, who would drop a barrel bomb on them in world?, who would play as them in GU? And finally.
Who would get them to stand on drugged meat to make it look like they got eaten by Joe in 3U?
For me, it was 4U. I haven’t played it in a good while due to school priorities, but I still love it. I’ve gotten pretty rusty in my time off, but I’m still on my to G-Rank! Once summer break hits, I’m grinding like hell!

When I was but an impatient little idiot child in the 4th grade, I decided to take on some Gathering Hub quests so I could actually fight something. I vividly remember picking Tetsu as my first hunt and getting absolutely ROCKED. Eventually, I progressed through the main story, and I met the big froggie again. And this time, I won. And even now, after completing the entire main story up to the Gathering Hall HR stuff, that stands as one of my biggest wins.
Ever since then,it’s been kind of a one-sided rivalry now that my gear makes even High Rank Tetsucabra easy. I haven’t unlocked Berserk Tetsucabra quite yet, but when I do, y’all best be ready, cuz the earth will be shaking from that fight

Your attention to detail on little motions, like how Rathalos arches his neck after yawning, or the way the Great Sword hunter rolls backward from the recoil of his weapon bouncing, is really impressive. You two must have watched the original intro many times to catch stuff like that. Amazing work!

My first first monster hunter game was mh4u back in 2015 just before mh generations came out.

Playing event quests just to get USJ stuff and showing it of to my friends which of course they did the same. they were like 40 people on my friends list who play this game. Same thing on generations and generations ultimate too, I just like looking stylish 😘 even if certain equipment has weak stats because they didnt have layered armor back then. 🤷♂️

This brought me back, to think it's been 19 years hunting monsters, I remember little 7 year old me, stuck on the egg quest for weeks, I even remember letting the main menu timeout just to watch this cut scene, thank you for recreating it, it brings back a lot of good hunting memories for me.

Bought my first Monster Hunter Game (MHFU) after I played MHF at a friends house. Haven't regretted joining the fandom for a single day since.
I finally mustered up the courage to grab my old game after 10 years or so and finally tried and beat Akantor on my first try. After watching my brother go through Tri and TriU and venturing to the new world with him, I am finally a G rank Hunter. I am so ready and hyped for Monster Hunter Wilds and hope, that it will be even better than World.

I can't believe how long i've been playing this saga, since GEN 1 when i got it first as a copy because it never arrived in my country but one day a friend went to the US and found it, gave it to me as a surprise birthday gift and i still have it an even play it from time to time!

I love it, the effort and love is really obvious, and feels like a remake done by true fans
Still got my original CD for PS2. The original Monster Hunter was really something special at the time. Virtually no shortcuts aside from elder trading, you had to gather every supply yourself prior to hunts. There wasn't a whole disastrous mess of gameplay gimmicks that complicated the simple equation of Hunter vs Monster. Never could go online with it, so no dragonite ore for me, and I ended up fighting lots of Khezu and Gravios over and over. Felt really, really good swinging a Greatsword around with a PS2 controller stick.

This is acutaly beautiful and what a nice way to celebrate the 20th anniversary, I also love how rathalos grabbing the aptonoth acutaly looks better then the original here due to his feet acutaly being designed to grab with this model, I hope one day we get to see rathalos fly away with a aptonoth in game

I've never seen the opening of that game before, so I'm seeing your rendition first, and so along with commending your animating I also want to compliment all the choices of the original, this felt like real National Geographic scenes, the two crested headed dinos getting separated and one seeing the other fall felt so heavy. I'm not into the Monster Hunter thing, I could never do it, but their beasts are breathtaking, I love watching them live. Anyway this is a superb video, wraha.

I got into monster hunter on a complete whim. I never heard of it before, never saw gameplay of it before, but I decided to buy it just because the name was cool.

As a gen one hunter, this brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my face.
Yknow, it never occured to me until now, but this opening is probably the best summary of monster hunter possible, and the best advertisement, even today.
I mean, you start with dinoaurs. Kids love dinoaurs! Any 8-year-old who sees the first 20 seconds is already on board. But then, ooh, the dinosaurs are fighting! There's stakes! And before you know it you're drawn into the narrative and rooting for the little baby, and then a flippin' DRAGON shows up. "But wait," you say, "I thought this was about dinosaurs!?" Oh no, dear viewer, this is about SO MUCH MORE than just dinosaurs. Look at these cool guys with swords! Yeah, that's right, this is a fighting game! Check out how awesome and strong this dragon is, they can't even touch him! And right when you're starting to settle in to the idea of playing a medieval fantasy (plus dinosaurs,) which is awesome already, they bring in a gun. A gun. In the world of swords and dragons and dinosaurs. What era is this!? Is there magic too?? And in the meantine the kelbi have been in your mind since the beginning. Yeah, they were a bit out of place in a dinosaur game, but you didn't question it. You've never seen a kelbi before, and now there's dragons and people and GUNS, and you start to realize this won't fall in to any common category easily. And by then, you're SO ready to play and find out what else is up with this weird, exciting world.
No wonder this franchise stuck around. Whoever scripted this deserves some big applause.

this is nice!!! it's like i'm watching my childhood game opening but now in 1080p60! kinda wish you gonna make a plot twist by using 3D models from their latest rendition (kinda hard for Velociprey to have a detail like in MHRise and it's more close to impossible for MHW:IB quality), but it's okay it's just what i want. keep doing the good job TCS team!!! i always love your contents :D
